You've given me hope again - the first 32 "DIY budget backyard stream" vids I saw all turned out to be "landscaping team + 32 years salary streams"! And yours even looks better than most of them! Thx. 🙋🏻♂️
Really quite a nice project, but I believe that the stream should be 2.5 x longer, for effective Scale within the Landscape (yard). The Trees really add a lot.
You are absolutely right. The reason it was the size that it was is because I was doing it on a budget with leftover things I had on hand. Thanks for watching.
Nice work. A good down to earth video and water feature. Good to have a helper. I'm redoing my waterfall feature for the tenth time in that many years. Always have a problem losing more water than is acceptable. I have a couple helpers (if I can separate them from the computer games). My 15 year old grandson and his friend, both bigger and stronger than I am. Not because I'm old (I am but won't admit it) but because they will help save my back.
Instead of that pipe/bucket combo, use an old plastic milk crate. Just turn it upside down and boom, you got a housing for your pump. You can run your piping through it and put rocks on top and it won't bother your pump set up one bit. And regardless of any of that, your end product turned out spectacular!
Yes, finding rocks is the hardest and most expensive part if you have to purchase them. You could take a ride out in the country when the farmers are tilling up their fields. Sometimes if your lucky they will let you have their rock piles. That's where I got most of my rocks.
you can use coloured cement to make fake rock, with a bit of practice you can make it look fairly convincing, you can use a combination of concrete and rocks.
Love this. I want to do something similar in front house going to a koi pond of to the side it will start by porch as a waterfall thwn kind of s curve before going around to corner section Also plan to.make it mini rc crawler friendly:p
The pump used is a 3000 Gph pump with a flow control. The liner is a 45 mil firestone rubber liner. If you use a liner like this, be sure to use underlayment to protect it from being punctured.
You left a tub in the woods? Isn’t there a landfill site in your region? Properly Disposing of unwatered anything is the responsible thing to do. Do the creatures in the woods dump their trash in your backyard? What is wrong with people? What a poor and lazy example to set for your children!

You can do it!
I love that it says 'one year later' and it actually was 😂
Looks awesome!
Thanks, yeah, it was a long drawn out project that shouldn't have taken that long. Thanks for watching!
I need a nap. Kudos for seeing it through to the end. You had a vision and it happened. Cheers

Love it! I'm about to make one myself, thanks for the insight👍
Have fun and good luck!
Wow it’s looks natural 👍🏻
It looks real, and that is priceless!!!
Thank you.
Great job. I've started my own stream now 👍🏼
Lol, I love watching other people work! 😂
Glad to have entertained you! 😆

That's great advice. I will do that the next time I do a clean out on the stream. Thanks!
Its a great idea and i would love to do one myself but to get rocks is expensive. I don't have place where i could collect them.

whats going on, this comment doesn't belong with this video.
Buying rocks and boulders in bulk is much cheaper than buying by the bag. A lot of river rock is under .10 (ten cents) a pound
Brilliant, nicely done l
thanks... it was a long time comming!
Lovely video. I'm making a stream in my garden
Good luck with your project!
Very nice
Thanks

Do birds and wildlife use the stream? I want to help my local birds
Yes, they are drawn to moving water. They show up to bathe in the pond waterfall, and in the rock fountain.
How strong is the pump that you used on this project? Also, please tell me about the liner that you used.

Liked and will watched more.
What pump are you using?
it's a variable speed pump, with a max flow rate of about 3000 GPH
Count your blessings that your wife is willing to do the hard work.
Yes, I am very lucky. She can't help it, she is very impatient!
Hey what’s the brand and power of the pump for water please what should the the power to pull the water up again please
THANK YOU
What was the size of your liner and where did you get it?
The liner is 4' x 24'. It was a piece left over from a larger pond installation. It would have been thrown out if i didn't take it.
You could tie a mesh bag in that pump
Or put the whole bucket in a mesh bag.
👍👍👍
😊
Omg! What’s her sign!?😂
Good grief,it took yall a year to rethink it 😂 im 52 and did mine in 2 days
