*Disclaimer* this is for the 5.7 RT’s... not Scat’s
Isn't the Trans ratio and rear the same in both cars?
Yes.
*Hellcats
For your German viewers, you need to add the 4th, 5th and 6th gear. We don´t stop accelerating after the 3rd over here when driving our Challengers on the Autobahn. Cool test. I enjoyed the engine growl of your RT a lot.
😀 lucky guys! Sure wish I could pull top speed in 5th! I think Ive reach to 192kmh in 4th. And the most I got with the road I had to run on was 215kmh @4800rpm still plenty left in 5th gear. They say it max out at 279kmh.
My 2009 RT is electronically limited to 240 km/h. That is plenty fast for me. Never had the urge to go faster but I did get pushed from the left lane plenty of times. Many mid size cars in Germany do 250. So a RT does not really stick out speed wise. In all other aspects it does 😎.
What is this piddle de posh about speed limits? In my state they're only used as suggestions. ;)
That face....easy cowboy 😂
heheee
Hemi Mike I’m sure I looked the exact same when I got my Scatpack stick 😁
@@noaht5191 😁no doubt about that!
cool video i have the 1320 auto and love the manual mode shifting in drag mode lots of fun and sounds yaa!
Really I like your video it help the people now the limit of 5.7 HEMI engine. Thanks for great video
Thanks Azoz A! Look forward creating more helpful videos, please subscribe. Mike
Good afternoon, I have some question - with a manual transmission, there is an " ECO " mode - that is, there is a shutdown of the 4 cylinder? And in general, what is the fuel consumption you get when driving normally with a manual transmission?
No eco mode with MDS with the manual.
Average of 13liters per 100km or 18 miles to the Gallon
@@HemiMike Thank you for telling me! I wonder if a v8 Mustang on a manual transmission consumes the same amount of liters during normal driving or less because of the weight?
The mustang is a 5.0 liter engine and is lighter so I would think it could be better.
Nice video. Got my R/T not too long ago and bounced 2nd off the rev limiter at 58-59 a couple times today trying to hit a 60 time. Good to know it's just the car and not something I'm doing wrong, heh.
This was one of the first thing that irritated me. I did something about it. I have a hole series on Diablesport tuner but this one is the result was I looking for: ua-cam.com/video/cTcaaChYuws/v-deo.html
Second gear in my RT goes to 70mph 😆
You have the 5 speed?
@@HemiMike yup & surprisingly, the car has outperformed the 8spds from a dig but my RT isn’t stock.
58’😅
Show us how to launch. I haven't tried that with my 15 rt plus yet.
+aaron e With or without the Launch Control?
Hemi Mike Camaro With launch control.
ok yes , that will make a good video! thanks
I haven’t either Aaron e
Cool vid thanks.
Glad you liked it!
My scat has me thrown off.. every car I’ve ever had I shift just befor it stops pulling.. well this car runs so fast to the limit rpm it feels like I’m short shifting it.. I swear the limiter is set 1000 rpm too low.
Do you rev it up to 6400rpms?
@@HemiMike I’m shift right before it goes into the limiter. But it feels like if it was opened up to 7 it would still pull through it
With my 5.7 Ive bumped the rev limiter to 6600 and even then in 3rd I feel I could reach 7000...at least now I feel like I get at the power in 1st and 2nd all the way up to 6200rpms
Great video bit missing a couple gears ⚙
Thanks! Come again
Cool video, subbed!
Thank you! Welcome.
Wow...that's interesting. It seems very low for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I have been a GM guy most of my life and am currently about to buy a Challenger R/T (my first Dodge ever). I'm just not happy with how far the Camaro has moved from its roots and the blind-spots are terrible. My 2002 Firehawk and 1994 25th Anniversary Trans-Am hit faster in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd than this Challenger. I don't know if I like that and am wondering if I can change that.
With all manual Challengers you get the 3.92 rear diff. With the automatic you can choose.
@@HemiMike
That's so...I don't like it. I just test drove a 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Plus 5.7 liter w/ a 6-speed and while I liked the car (really, really liked it) having to shift so early bothered me. I don't feel as if I have the same amount of control moving forward as my GM's. Now I'm thinking I am going to have to rip the gears out and replace them within days of getting it (if I do get it)...I don't know now. Again, super sweet car with tons of potential that in my opinion exemplifies what American muscle should be. Both Ford and GM are way, way off the mark now. I don't even know what the Hell a Camaro is anymore.
Here's what worries me- I go to the quarter mile track with my new Challenger. I line up at the tree, the light goes green, and I hammer it. Then in the heat of the race I don't shift early and I either blow the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearings or I snap the transmission in two. That's my real issue and I see it coming from a mile away. After driving and racing GM's my entire life I don't know if this is the right move for me. However, if I don't choose the Challenger then what?
Why ont you want a automatic car then?
@@HemiMike
I absolutely love stick. I have had a car with a 6-speed on the floor since 1997 when I got my 25th anniversary Trans-Am. I have so much more control with a stick than an automatic. Hell, you can even conserve fuel far better with a manual gearbox than an automatic.
6 options already exist. You could easly swap with one of them, 3.70 or 2.62 from the Hellcat , 3.09 or 3.08 diff available in the automatic Hemis or 2.62 and 3.08 for the V6
U should do a top speed video on a closed course in mexico of course
Would love to do that but it's a big setup to organize. Perhaps this summer!
My first neon didn't have a tach. Now that how you learn you max speed per gear. Haha. Love the video. Wish I had a manual.
+Burnseys RT well, you don't need one anymore, you can watch me driving one instead for free! Hehee
Hemi Mike thanks for sharing. It’s so awesome to actually have a manual now. I am loving it for sure. So if you wanted the best 0-60 do you just hit the limited and have the carry over take ya to 60 or do you actually Shift into third.
Get to 3rd but shift 1st early around 5400
This all depends on your rear end gear ratio. Mine is a 3.92 and doesn't seem to match your numbers. Had to edit because I wanted to add I like your red leather!
I have the 3.92 as well. Hummm...interesting you have the 6 speed manual?
Mine is the Same ratio in my 392 SRT 8. Are you able to hit 60 in second in a manual?
Which engine you have?
@@HemiMike me? 392
Yes you can hit 60 in 2nd.
Thanks good info
👍
I reach the rev limit on a 0-60 run in 2nd gear. I have to shift to 3 which does slow down my time. My best run is 6.0. I have a 2018 5.7 manual.
Yes it does, that was 1 of the reason I got the Diablo unlock pcm and I3 tuner so I can adjust the rev limiter higher. Check out my videos serie that explains the hole process
Well sort of. If you turn off ATSC hold TC for 5 seconds (2011-2014, key fob trick 2008-2010) it puts your car into race mode. This does change rev limiter. Not sure what sport mode does on 2015+ but race mode is activated same way. My car has Super Track Pack so not sure if that option only applies to cars so equipped. Scat packs without STP do go into race mode though that I have confirmed
@Bob-gy6ud Right for Automatics.
I have a 2017 scat pack challenger I know that’s how there supposed to be driven but when I drive like that o get 8.6mpg what your mpg seriously no lie please don’t say you get 13mpg
Thanks for watching! I've made a specific video about the actual mpg with this 5.7, i suggest you watch it to get all the answers you are looking for and more: ua-cam.com/video/BhpXcNqfw7I/v-deo.html👈👍
I drive a manual 2016 scat pack challenger, and I get around 15 mpg when driving normally. Hard Acceleration I get like 2 or 3, cruising in 3rd going 40 I’m getting 14-15, and on the highway I’m getting around 20
I can't post a video to you feed so check out my R/T on my channel. Once you tune you engine with a few bolt on its so much nicer. My Rev limit is 6500 and with being 600 over stock it really helps the gearing. 1st get 45 2nd 66 3rd 96 4th 138. No those numbers are shifting at 6300 roughly. Anyways nice video man
Yes, since then, I did tune mine to a 6600rpms rev limit. I does help quite a lot, I also have a full video serie on the diablotuning procedure to achive it. Thanks!
ya man!
👍
Hey mike where you from
cAnAdA
Okay Relax
I was a bit excited there! 😜
Your engine in its stock form isn’t doing anything past that RPM anyways. Need to do the top end.
Perhaps, but I did shave half a second on my 0 to 60 mph just by pushing back the rev limiter to 6000rpms. I'm at 13.3@106mph for the 1/4 miles
No top end needed. With a real tune not a can. And full exhaust work with Boltons the top end can withstand a lot more. Check out my R/T if you need proof. Stock cam and heads nothing taken out of stock motor just bolt on and tune
2nd gear mines max out 75-80
