Yves Saint Laurent meets Bandzilla "C'est Si Bon"

In 1990, Trevor Horn produced a commercial for Yves Saint Laurent ‘Jazz’ parfum pour l'homme, to be sung by Jill Jones -known for her work with Prince at Paisley Park.
He asked Composer/arranger Richard Niles to arrange it, using his jazz orchestra Bandzilla.
The video features supermodel Naomi Campbell lipsyncing Jill Jones’ voice.

Love this! Who sang it originally? I’m sure I’ve heard it before ( French mum-) YSL - going to have to google you! Wish it had been longer but I guess it was for YSL campaign ad. Did you do the Dior campaign with Anya Taylor Joy in 2022 with DSB “ Love story “ track?

Written in 1947, I think the first HIT version of the song was the recording by Eartha Kitt. I did not do the Dior campaign. (sadly!) This was a one-off. Trevor asked me to do it, with the only directive that he wanted it to be stylish, classic, yet modern - hence the swing to hiphop sections. I arranged and demoed the track, and then we recorded it at Sarm East Studio, my band, playing to my programming.
