Welcome back to Tay & Syd's THE FIRST watch along! We're back with episodes 5-1 & 5-2, where we get to see the group audition performances!! Very exciting episodes, thanks for watching with us!! ICYMI our NEW SCHEDULE is Wednesday and Saturdays! Also, We're officially seeing BE:FIRST on their 2025 World Tour in NYC and Philadelphia!!
Here's how our particular watch through works: Tay has never seen the show, but obviously knows who ends up being in BE:FIRST. Everything else is brand new to Tay though, and for this reason, we ask you to keep spoilers out of the comments of these videos! Syd has seen the show only one other time a few months ago, so she doesn't remember everything that happens either. Every Saturday from now until we finish the show, will be dedicated to THE FIRST. We really don't have any reason to draw these out, and Tay is eager to get through all of the shows ('THE FIRST', 'Mission Mission', 'NoNoGirls') before 'The Last Piece' begins airing! I think they kept Ryuhei and RuiRui's comments not knowing they ended up in the company. Boss had no idea THE FIRST (and BE:FIRST) would get as big as it was / is, nor what happens later at Training Camp.
As of the audition at this point in time among the contestants and especially Team A, Rui and Ryuhei really stood out just from how young they are but also just how talented both of them are, but I understand that it's a very different kind of perspective watching this knowing who is in the company and who isn't, haha. And this includes Taiki of course.
The part where eddy forgot the lyrics for BACK TO BACK, you can hear the difference when Taiki does the same part, which is supposed to go "Hey guys kamatte nai de". When eddy did it, he improv-ed with "Hey guys tanoshin de"
It's hard to tell unless you know the lyrics very well, but you can see boss go 🤨 during that line eddy did. Though on this rewatch i see Taiki also fumbled the lyrics a little in his bit (different line), lol.
Overall though, Team B and D stood out. I think Team C would've ate had they been given more time.
I absolutely loved Uncle Taiki and Keita coming in for this episode. It's my favourite before the boys go to Training Camp for just how much fun they're having with boss and how supportive and encouraging they are for the boys.
