That hot air ballon place was nice! I also glued my corals today I’m so happy it’s off the sand bad now man. Thy purple torch is bad ass! Did not know they could hurt a torch. Anemone are awesome I wish mine did not come in dead so I would still have the same love for them. Gloves on deck because of you! No glove no love for sure! Lol Kevin heart is the man!!!
I had really bad luck with two stop gobies as well =( If i go sand bend on the new build i will definitely try again! I have to scrape my glass weekly because my coraline grows so damn fast. Also i have 5-6 sand sifting stars and many nasarius snails, they do a poor job.
CJ - Man it's best to add fish when the lights are completely out....this way the new additions can find a hiding spot just in case they need to scramble away from danger. In the case of the twin spot and the cigar - NO WHERE TO RUN TO....AND NO WHERE TO HIDE. Entertaining but it had to hurt. (My two pennies....)
CJ, one thing you might try concerning an aquarium inhabitant to sift your sand, you might try a larger shrimp species, possibly something like a tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) - yeah the edible kind. They're nocturnal, meaning they bury themselves just under the sand in the daytime and only come out at night. They're excellent sand sifters, foraging through your sandbed for something to eat, extremely hardy and big enough to avoid being bullied by your fish. Just eyeballing it but I hope there's enough of a sand bed for them in your tank. You could probably find some (live) at your local Asian market / grocery store. Make sure you drip acclimate for at least an hour if you decide to try it because they're sensitive to sudden salinity changes and I'm pretty sure they won't be in exactly the same salinity (most likely quite a bit less) than your tank..
Hey man I just found your channel last week. I can see you’ve stopped post but just wanted to say. You made some seriously quality content and enjoyed the hell out of your csa build/journey. I’m waiting on a 150 from them and hope mine turns out half as good as yours. Anyway hope life’s treating you fair.
Don't ever give up on your hobby or your passion . From Gettntipsynails....We all love seeing your system because we have one here in Port saint Lucie , Florida
Golden head sleeper goby will sand sift, but they get sand all over even up on the rocks and corals. Tbh not feeling sand sifter anymore. Starfish might eat clean up crew. Maybe check out nassarius snails they dig up in the sand and eat detritus, conch snails too.
I scratch my glass every 2 weeks and for my sand I have nassarius snail chalk blue goby and sand conchs ( the best), they do keep my 50gallons sand very clean
Hey cj I have a sand shifting star, he works awesome! I also target feed him to make sure he doesn't waste away. Also find him on my back walk eating algae some times. It started out slow but he has put in work.
My nano is entering it 5th month up to putting my first frags in I was cleaning once a week now every third day put an urchin in for algae on the rock, sand sifting star fish for the sand this guy works his plumbs off all over the tank love to watch him/her shimmy below the sand great vid CJ peace
When you have aggressive wrasses if you want to add non aggressive fish that are smaller. You have to rearrange your tank. So they lose their Territory. Or risk them killing the new fish.
Poor little 2 spot.. that wrasse was after him in seconds! Dang that was some quick nem removal! If he left that old spot.. i bet he's going to go for a walk again hahah good luck !
Whooooo!!! that's a lot of 🔥🔥🔥, love me some pectinia also 👍, my lil frags will take years and years to get that size unfortunately 😆. Really digging the tank and updates bud. 💀
Nice update CJ one suggestion when you clean your glass with magnets try not to go too close to the sandbed...your magnet will pick up sand particles and scratch your glass. In my new tank i dont have any magnets i am using the Glass Cleaning Brush that comes with some accessories plastic and an aluminum blade. I use the Mr.Clean's Magic eraser roll it around the plastic accessory and insert it in the brush walla job done....I don't clean my sandbed for that i have less sand and a fighting conch and some Nassarius snails do that job for me...Happy Reefing bro...
Hey CJ , I wish I only had to clean my glass that little. Even with no nitrates and low phosphates. Use a flipper every other day , and get more detailed during the water change time and I use the basic magic eraser, try not to use blades.. nice update looking good
Great video buddy I clean my glass every day with a flipper never scrape my glass as it’s a potential of scratches on the glass also use a toothbrush for for the corners 👍
Yessir, i always tell my buddy that keep your hand out as much as possible. That when buying corals do big batches at a time, make the wet hand trip once cus the tank getd all nervouse for a few days after.
Yo cj nice additions bro I'm busy working so I haven't been here, can you send me the link where you purchase the blue gloves thanks. Hey bro I want to here your opinion on the uv before I purchase can you hurry for the install. Be easy
Thanks for sharing I knew I was razzing you haha , looks good CJ !tank is looking so nice! That ballon party is intense! Now I know what you mean... I’m gonna live by your words no 🧤 glove ...no love I love it ! I’m definitely scared of being stung lol
i have now watched all 34 episodes! caught up. im in the process of building a 125g ( upgrading from 49gal bow front). i know all too well what that rollercoaster of emotion can feel like. after watching this series, i realize that im not the only one with similar issues. keep up the good work man! its reinvigorated my enthusiasm for the hobby! wish me luck on my new tank!
Deam bro u got some killers..if u do try the Goby one's more ..try a small one..trust me the small ones or the best ..u just got let him make his cave ,and u or in there ..

CJ'S AQUARIUMS try a nice size diamond goby, they do well and they can handle their own
Another great video CJ. Keep your hands out and watch out for inexpensive coral that steal up valuable real estate and calcium

Hey CJ. I just wanted to let you know that I tagged you in the “My Worst Day in Fish Keeping Tag.” I’d love to hear all of your fish horror stories!
SEA CUCUMBER for your sand bed cleaning.....GRAB TWO. You'll be fascinated by their work.
Looking good CJ. I have a Sand Sifting star and 3 fighting Conchs and they are doing a great job at keeping my sand clean.
Cj I your UA-cam channel is class, you are straight forward,,,, my fluval 13.5 has been running for 5months I love it, i am hooked,
I had really bad luck with two stop gobies as well =( If i go sand bend on the new build i will definitely try again!
I have to scrape my glass weekly because my coraline grows so damn fast. Also i have 5-6 sand sifting stars and many nasarius snails, they do a poor job.
dudesreef if you want twin spot wrasses you have to have a loaded tank with copepods. Like a lot of dragonetts.

Another great video CJ, filled with information. Nice additions too, your tank is looking Real good now man 👍✌️️

Dude get the tunze magnetic scraper. No more scraping with a razor. It works great. Even on coraline.
Always wash your hands with vinegar then plain water before putting hands in tank.
Hi CJ! Great video, your tank looks really, really good! how long have u been into this hobby?? 😀
My nano is entering it 5th month up to putting my first frags in I was cleaning once a week now every third day put an urchin in for algae on the rock, sand sifting star fish for the sand this guy works his plumbs off all over the tank love to watch him/her shimmy below the sand great vid CJ peace

That head slam was rough. I only clean my glass once per week unless someone wants to look at it. All panels bright green within 3 days.
You have any opinions on the triton method? Could help with you getting busy since football is starting up
I’ve had a sand starfish for years. They’re great. As long as the sand isn’t too clean they last a long time.
If there is enough hard algae in the corners to mention, maybe it's a good time to scrape. Otherwise the tank is looking good.
Another great video! Thanks for all the awesome info CJ!
Blue cheek go by doing a great job with the sand in my tank .keep up the good work with the vids
Great update CJ. What is the blue fish at minute 1:46? Have a great week my friend
I had the same issues with gobys they just wont make it ... the only one i had luck with so far is a bullet goby
I scrape the coraline algae off of my glass every 2 months probably.
Sand sifting star and those Tiger Conchs are awesome for the sand bed . Great video Cj 👍🏻
Momma always said, if there's no glove, there's no love!
Great update! Really appreciate the time and info you put into your videos.
I clean my glass about once a week, but I could clean it every 2-3 days.
Poor gobies omg 🤒. I have a diamond back and he is a jerk but man the sand looks so clean.
My friend I got an epic ich attack in my tank. I saw that you have one too. I want to know how are your dealing with it?
Great update CJ look forward to seeing the next chapter
Do you just temp acclimate and then add them in, or do you add water to the bad/drip method?
Try sand sifting conchs! They will do the trick and last a long time
cj what do you like the best the sca120 or the jbj45 that was a hot tank.
You could also try a couple of fighting conch to help with the sand bed
I like it CJ always great info in your videos bud 👍
Lol 😂 scrape my glass every 2-4 days. OCD here
Sandsifters eat Pods...Im getting rid of mine soon.
Sweet vid as usual its going to look banging when ur sps kick in ✌

That hacksaw tho....
Nice tank CJ
CJ how can I get your email?
Poor little 2 spot.. that wrasse was after him in seconds! Dang that was some quick nem removal! If he left that old spot.. i bet he's going to go for a walk again hahah good luck !
Love me a good Coral Banded Shrimp!🔥🤘🏾✅
Looks great ! Dont loose the love. 👍
I scrape the harder coraline algae every 4-6 months ish on the back wall
Do you have conches? Mines do a great job sifting the sand but my tank is a nano so im not sure they can do the work for your tank
yes 3 of them.. id need a Army to really make a difference
I usually clean the glass 1-2 times a week. A tiger conch is a hero in my sand bed👍
Great looking tank
Bullet goby
Thx again
Look good 👌
Love the clowns dude, that wrasse is a jerk lol
Bummer about gobbies. Nice vid.
Great video as usual. Save your money, the Star Fish won't do much either. Stirring it is my method a section at a time. Be Easy
why didn't you qt the fish before adding to dt?
Garrett Ling I have never QT any fish for my systems. Not recommended so consider this rolling the dice
Whooooo!!! that's a lot of 🔥🔥🔥, love me some pectinia also 👍, my lil frags will take years and years to get that size unfortunately 😆. Really digging the tank and updates bud. 💀

Have you looked at a bullet goby? Mine seems to hold his own. All he does is sift sand.
Ya I use full arm length gloves when putting my hands in the tank
I’m trying out bare bottom on my nano so far so good. 👍🏽
Love your tank CJ it’s so busy 😍
Hey CJ what’s your tank dimensions?? I think u must upgrade your system to a Red Sea 750XXL or equivalent...
Sion Manna 120g 4x2x2 ... won’t be upgrading for a few years. When I do it will be bigger than that red sea tank 🤙🏾
