Looking forward to what year 2 has to offer.. stay tuned... thanks for watching!
How often do you do waterchange on ur 120?
great tank, very beautiful.
wish mine look like that
You probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother for the last few weeks :)
@Rory Fletcher Yea, been watching on Instaflixxer for months myself =)
#NotificationSquad 👀
I miss you 😥
Billy Pipes Do you know what happened? I saw some comment in a live stream about him breaking things down. It's he done with YT?
Aaron's Aquatics - A² he sold everything
Billy Pipes waaaaaa, no longer keeping a reef?? What happened? Hate to lose him..
Aaron's Aquatics - A² he's a busy guy I guess. He'll hopefully be back one day
I knew he should have stayed with the JBJ.
Great vid man, good to hear the raw truths of the hobby...I've deff all killed lots of coral in my time as well xDD
Hey cj, no new updates recently.. What's up? Come over and film my tank for a vid if you want I'm next door.
Damn CJ when you coming back?
Andrew Hague next year maybe longer
Need you back bro , it was you who inspire me in hobby with 120 gallon , 3 Tangs , 9 wrasses rest all are all set in my tank . Will wait for update ... do what you do and come back ...
It’s how’s come along great can’t wait to see your sps take off. Your tank is amazing been watching sine the being!! Great work
I’ve been waiting for an update from you! but mainly on that 9G nano!!!!
Jake dominguez yessss
Great knowledge and tips....learned a lot. Thanks for sharing and HAPPY REEFING!!
I just love your style! Calm voice, nice music and good, quality content. Very entertaining. This has become very rare on YT.
New Sub. Thanks for your update and for your videos. Im brand new will be watching all your videos. Appreciate your information
When are you coming back cj
Really looking forward to the Ocean Revive compared to the Radion video.
Trust your opinion, thanks.
Do you have favorite water testing equipment? What have you used and what worked best for you?
Love your videos. I've had a small 36 that's over grown, getting my new 120gallon tomorrow really look fort to setting up and getting it ready. It'll be a big change but we learn a lot in this hobby. You have a wonderful tank! 🔥 Just curious why you didn't go cato instead of an alge scrubber? ✌️ Ps I subbed
Very nice update CJ. I love long videos from you. They are so creative and I love looking at ypur tank!!
Man great video. Ever has a saltwater tank just a 80 fresh water. I just got my first 120 gallon corner flo marine land tank just finished plumbing yesterday. I’m excited but very concerned. I am going to be buying my first house about a year and a half and will have to move this tank. But could not pass but the deal. A saltwater store was closing so I got tank stand hood bashsea protein skimmer, bashea sump and pump all 70% off. Your video has been so inspiring. Would love any advice on getting started with corals without fear of the move.
Getting back in to hobby after running a successful 75g mixed reef 8-10 years ago. Found tank I wanted which is the sca120 and came to UA-cam and found your channel...binged watch all episodes today 😁. Great job, great tank, and subscribed. Looking forward to new videos.
Find myself watching your vids over again.Definitely a void. Been watching for the editing tho now. Find myself using iMovie iPhone now for my tank. Blessings with everything man from Cleveland,Ohio
What’s up CJ. Just dropping by to say we miss you my Dude. First the FAT BOYS break up, then NEW YORK STEELO dropout of UA-cam and then YOU. Hope all is well. We are all here still waiting.
I love how real this dude is. He shares all his deaths and all the struggles as well as the success. Most UA-camrs would try to lie and just give an update about how beautiful and successful they are so that they don"t get any backlash from the comments. This is a very tedious hobby, and to get everything 100% right the first time is nearly impossible. Good job CJ and keep up the videos!
As far as my own tank, I bought all live rock, live sand, and already filtered water from my local fish store Glass Aquatics, so even though it was a bit pricier, I didn't have any of the same algae issues (highly recommend). Only have one clown fish death so far (my salinity was really high at the time so that's probably why), and possibly a pom pom crab death... haven't seen the dude since the day I put him in my tank 3 months ago, but I know they're good at hiding so idk.
Hey man, a nice hello from Slovenija.
I started my tank 7 months ago with dry rock and dry sand, and man... had the same problems, things dying, cyano ect.... the filing when you wake up, get to the tank and another thing went wrong.. kinda depressing. BUT, things slowly started to go ok for me now :) And I appreciate a video like this that makes me think that I'm not alone in this. Tnx man for making my day :)
What's up CJ? I never really comment on any video, I always enjoy watching your videos and you always inspire me to keep going on my tank. Awesome work man.
Fantastic recap and even showing the bad. Some people just want overnight colonies and in this hobby that doesn't happen fast. Only the bad happens fast. Give I another year and it will be completely different. My sps encrusted for 3 months before growing upwards.
That is a beautiful tank. I am trying to get into the hobby. I really want to have a room dedicated to my tank. I have a _LONG_ way to go.
I really respect on how you started your tank with not quarantined your fish. I did the same on a all fish tank and over 2 years it’s been fine. Thank you for your videos.
Did adding so many corals at once not throw you into a cycle or a crash? I am pretty sure that is why I crashed. My 10 gallon was 6 months old. never had any algae at all. Kept lights off for 2 1/2 months or more then added 2 corals around 3 month stage than 2 more then 2 more. All was well until I traded live rock with someone. She had caves and arches from caribe sea so I kept them in a bucket for 2 weeks with no ammonia source(long story) then put them in and all seemed well, then about a month later I had ammonia, maybe from a picky eater fish and was throwing in a lot of food but usually got it out with turkey baster daily. I was also taking out rocks to clean sand in the cave about 3 time so maybe lost bacteria doing that. About this time i got 18 frags, Most I won so thats why i added so many at once. Looking fine for a week or 2 then discoverd my salinity had dropped to 2019, either dropped or I mixed it wrong beacuse my refractometer was off 4 points or so, but Not sure if it was off when I mixed it about 6 days proir. I have had a hell of a time getting things back into cycled, ammonia followed by nitrites and trates so pretty much crased. Lost about 8 corals and the rest are mostly softies and I have no idea if they will make it. Damage maybe be too much. They wont upen or stand upright! Now I am trying to decide If I want to spend some xtra money on radions for my new tank or an apex!! i had a mishap with a cobalt heater that more than likely would have cause a crash if I would have had corals and more than fish! I could just get a temperature moniter and I am constantly checking my salinty now that I have a digital hanna checker! I can say one thing for certain. the radions make your tank look much better and more color pop than the ocean revive. I have been looking into them as well but dont wan to have to mount so high! What are your thoughts on an apex, are they worth the money? How about radions compared to Ocean revive? Your tank looks fantastic! really enjoy your channel and love how you are so open about everything and I think you truely are a caring person and want to help people even if it means sharing your mistakes! Thats a wonderful virtue :{
Awesome tank! Good job! Thanks for all information!
After you changed your lighting did you notice a difference? Better coral growth? Are you happy about the decision to change?
Yo CJ, when you get back in the hobby you should do a jbj build again. Bring back the love for it.
You might wanna ease up on food. Make sure everything is eaten use a Tube. Siphon it up , Finger on top, place in tank and release a lil at a time. Hey will know the tube, including inverts and everything will come out of the rocks when the tube goes in the water. It’s cool and very rewarding. Jus sayin
Quick question - i have a 55 gallon tank - I think I made a huge mistake I bought 10 frags that were on sale, in a month old tank some look pathetic, I found out my salinity was low, I’m using Chinese leds, and some live rock some dry rock and black sand, any tips on what I should do? I’m in the cloudy stage of my tank I did a huge water change, that cleared up some, I’m also using a canister filter. Any advice would be appreciated.
The truth!! Love the tank and how you tell it like it is. Everyone wants a nice tank but doesn’t understand the work. Love your channel.
CJ - great videos man, I have watched every episode of every tank a few times thru now to prepare for my first reef tank build. Great Editing, thank you for not rambling on on about other topics which is pretty common on these sorts of videos. Most importantly thank you for sharing your defeats as well as your victory’s. I can go turn on a BRS video for the run down of how to do something, but yours is the only honest series where I can learn from your mistakes. Thanks for having the pride and self confidence to do that.
So where is the update man???
Man that must have been an editing logistical nightmare 😂 but quality as ever cj. Keep them coming brother 👍👌
Dude there's no way it's been 6 months since you posted a vid.. I just searched your channel to check out any vids I might have missed .. we need some CJ documentary man!
Hope all is well dude 🤘
Hope U bein EZ somewhere... COME BACK
Hey man what percent do you run your lights, blues vs whites?
Great video...nice to see tank from how it originally started 👍
Good video man, patience is where it's at. Thank you.
Hey CJ your most recent videos were never posted. Why are you leaving the hobby?
With all them wrasse do you got any cleaning crew? If yes what can survive lol I need help
Going through and re watching some of these gems you have made. We sure do miss you and hope to see you back soon. Im coming up on the one year mark on my 75 reef, and have recently set up another tank. Its not as big as the 75, but its nice.
Great video
Another great video!!!! Your videos inspired me to start my own saltwater take over a year ago....
Great video CJ!!! Love how you share everything, good and bad. Keep being eazy
Nice video recapping the first year of your tank.
I went diving at the blue heron bridge one thing it’s pronounced cylinder not air tank... it other then that good video
Great recap! Where did you buy your Pukani from?
CJ congrats on one year. Thanks for documenting so much for the hobby man. 👍🏾
Awesome job👊👍
Thanks for the video cj and amazing tank.
Awesome tips. Amazing aquarium.

Omg...I forgot about the huge white frag rack lol...but I know you didn't lol. Can't believe it's been a year already 👍
Hello CJ what happen with aquarium now?
Sorry but how is it rimeless and a eurobrace??
Thank you for showing us the growing pains!
What’s the name of the tank you recommend?
The flow will keep fish from jumping?
😂😂😂 i didnt know people were into tanks like that
Really enjoy these videos makes me want to start a salt water tank
Epic video. One of your best, imo.
What’s the stock in your tank right now
Hi, where are you, any updates soon?
what settings do u use on the maxpect sir?
Sweet tank as usual bro, any updates ?
Where have you gone we all need some new content ;)
Thanks for the videos. 🙏
Best video yet. Very awesome.
CJ, what is your PH level? I'm wondering how much the calcium reactor will drop it.
stays 7.8-7.9 with single chamber calcium reactor and skimmer pulling in outside air
Is this tank still running ? Any leaks with this tank considering purchasing an SCA tank.
No it was taken down years ago. But I would definitely get another their tanks are overbuilt and strong
One of your best videos.
Excellent video.:)
What scrubber you use?
I saw your channel by chance a few days ago... I don't even like reef aquariums but you swayed me. Your soothing voice and the ambiance.😍😍😍 Miss u
check recent videos I started a new build :)
Looks great CJ 👌
Great videos series!
Where you been man?
Where did you go cj?
New guy, I binge watched and subbed. What a tremendous series you put together. I owned reef 25 years ago with great success. You’ll cherish the record you created,25 years ago we didn’t have YT or social media. I lost out on memories you’ll have forever! Your a pro reefer now, even though you have doubts. Thanks Man, keep up the good work!
playinragz thanks for watching.. it’s very time consuming recording editing and documenting my entire tanks progression over the year. Mistakes were made and success also happened in ether case not many are brave enough to share both sides. This tank is being shut down prematurely as I take a break from the hobby. Next system will be better and practice avoiding mistakes I made with this one. Keep doing what u do! Be easy! 😎💪🏾
Great video cj
Baby come back!
I've noticed you mentioned how you work overtime to fund your tank. Did you expect to spend so much more after you had your initial live stock? For someone new to this hobby with a budget, how do you take into account all the extra money you have to spend because of deaths etc?
hard to answer that one.. we hope to never lose anything. just go into this hobby knowing it will cost double what u plan
looks Great !
It's stunning!!
One day I will like to have a room with a wall to wall reef tank. I have never worked on a reef tank before. What size tank would you say I should start with and what amount of time would you say I should have it before I expand to a larger tank?
75 is a nice size to start or 120g
Great video!
Awesome vid
Great video and beautiful tank, but can your next video be on the nano you have, I’m doing some research cause I want a nano reef tank and I really like what you got going on in it.
Luis Miguel Betancourt nano was broke. Down sold months ago due to work policy change
Hey CJ,
Just wanted to let you know that I remove the middle support when working on my sump. It doesn't seem to have a load on it and slides right out.
mike day I’ve heard people try it and reinforce edges with 2x4 but the owner told me it does count as some support. I’m airing on the side of caution.
Comeback
#newupdates ?
Great vid. Way to sum up the year! I thought i was tripping at 0:27 . lol
always #notificationsquad
Matyas Castro lmao the wife thought she was unnoticed 😛
Big respect to you. Like you said it, most wont admit all the wrongs they did, nor would they even show it in a video. This video should be on every beginners “must watch” list. You said everything as it is, the truth, you didn’t sugar coat anything.
thumbs up
Epic🏆🏆
I loved watching your journey over the past year! The tank is looking wonderful. This was a great video. And I’m becoming a little bit attached to that white vent cover now.....😈
No more?
