To open the hood, button behind the signal lever on dash. X2 symbol you push twice & frunk opens. The pull lever in panel is the backup if there’s no power.
Leasing the top end version for 750 pm. No down. Never thought will get an EV but after driving this was sold. Drove Model X, Rivian and this within 2 days of each other. Rivian is awesome but priced a bit high. Also it drives like a Body on frame SUV. This one feels like a regular unibody suv. Range anxiety with the charging network still exists for me. Time will tell. Love your reviews with inputs from the better half and kid chipping in. Keep up the good work.
I love that you paid attention to the child-friendly aspects, like the seat latches... the EV9 is my dream EV as a family man, and it's great to know that I could have a couple of kids in the back without worry... once I figured out the door handles.
The regenerative brakes are awesome on the ev9. And at 100% charge in eco mode I’m getting an estimated 340-360 miles. I doubt that that’s totally accurate but still notably more than the 280 miles as spec’d.
I genuinely love this thing. I test drove it since the Lightning isn’t cutting it for the growing family. It rides smooth, has tons of utility, and I like the goofy design (and 4 spoke). I just wish it was a tad more affordable.
Great review. One suggestion: I know your are is no longer rear-facing, but many parents are looking for reviews or images of how rear facing car seats look in vehicles. Maybe purchase an inexpensive rear facing convertible car seat and show how it looks? This is something that sets Kelly the CarMom apart. Thanks for your review!
The Earth model is the equivalent of 102,000 USD here in Thailand, the long range is 113,000 USD. We test drove the EV5 which is a more reasonable 45,000 USD. Cars are so expensive here in Thailand because of the import tax.
I saw one a couple days ago and it looked smart and cool. Driver looked very happy too. But yeah, 4 spoke wheels are no good. Make it look like your car has square tires (like a kid drew it) and 4 spokes put a large gap of stress between the spokes. 5 is the magic number for smart wheel design. More is unnecessary and 4 is risky, especially with a heavy car.
Thanks for the kind comment…and for agreeing with my anti-4-spoke stance. 😁 As for your question, if you’re asking what to replace your Telluride with…I’d personally just keep the Telluride. It’s an excellent vehicle
Hiii! Awesome review. I would say though, had a friend get the light trim recently, such a cool car but oh boy… 6000 pound car meet 200 ish hp , it got scary once or twice when she needed it to get up and go 😅 it definitely is a bit slow and she’s not my crazy drivin speed demon self by any means and she was concerned. Any chance yall have driven it and can confirm?
Every time Evie drives, I swear Micah starts sounding like a car salesman who forces himself onto the test drive and peppers the customer with leading questions.
With declining buyer interest and sales of EVs plummeting, I’m curious to know if that decline is also reflected in EV reviews. Have you found that your YT reviews for EVs gets less engagement? Is there a parallel between EV sales and EV reviews engagement?
Good question. It really depends on the EV. Our Mercedes EQE video did terribly. Meanwhile our EV9 is one of our best performing videos currently ranked 2 of our last 10 videos.
It’s decent. Average, I guess. Easy to customize and alter sound settings but I notice that the low frequencies (bass) is more prominent in the second and third rows than in the front.
Soo...i am pretty sure irs not a midsized SUV (then again , a highlander is still considered midsize so i guess this is a me problem, lol) but otherthan that its a good video as always (so far atleast - still watching)
OF COURSE IT'S BETTER THAN THE TELLURIDE. It's built to be better. It's priced accordingly. You're asking the wrong question. Question is, is it WORTH buying the ev9, over an ICE vehicle? My answer is no. EV9 as an in-town family vehicle is great. But as an all around family car that can do the town commutes as well as family road trips?? No ev is worth that
I pulled up next to one at a stoplight the other day in my telluride, and I have to say they are quite nice. But I really don't ever see myself getting any EV ever...
Second row seats that flip forward 'electrically' are a terrible idea. The designers/engineers probably never considered northern winters with bitter windchill, blowing snow, etc. You want to get in or out as quickly as possible. Pop-out or flip-out door handles are equally bad, not just for weather, but in case a stalker or wild animal is chasing you, you don't want to be fumbling to get the door open, or in the case of the EV9 tester, not even open. Vehicles have become too complex, and it seems that they just try to make things as modern/futuristic as possible without thinking about the issues they may cause.
This is very handy for larger families. A small kid can move the seat forward while mom/dad on the other side secures a car seat. If you don’t want them, don’t get them. But they’re not a bad idea just because you don’t like them.
They should cancel this poorly executed Vehicle. The Paddles turn on the Wipers? They need to start over KIA. Lmao. 😂 and I agree Micah, that was the most Sweeeetie thing she could have done. 😅
It isn't the four spoke that turns me off with the wheels, it's the over all ugly design. The useless retractable door handles on EVs are something I agree with wifey on.🎉
But if a little pebble hits the bottom of your car and scratches it and a mechanic then says you have to replace the $30,000 battery.. I'm not sure the whole experience is worth the heart attack.. 😊 they really lower their credentials there..
Your daughter is too old, no more booster seat...a little cheeky on the commentary today, something to do with paddles and buttons? Btw, I'll go with six spokes.
just got my ev9 gt in black. I love love love it. it’s absolutely insane.
Hyundai Kia EVs are light years ahead of BMW BENZ and AUDI
No they're not, what makes you say such a thing?!?!
@@Icayn In terms of EVs, there's no denying that Hyundai Kia are far superior to any other brands in fact only brands that can compete with Tesla.
Not really Lyriq is far better but however it is not 7 seater and more expensive
Byd good too @@근육돌이밥이
@@Jeez001Lyriq is smaller but heavier, has shorter range, slower charging speed and no V2L. Nothing is better than EV9.
For the door handles, just change the settings in the menu. Pretty simple and then they can all open as you approach!
Wow Kia thinks of everything...even a crotch adjustment feature 😮 Kia/Hyundai putting out some nice looking EV products! Nice work Muzio family 👏👏
To open the hood, button behind the signal lever on dash. X2 symbol you push twice & frunk opens. The pull lever in panel is the backup if there’s no power.
Happy Father's Day Micah! 🎉
8:50 Smooth stop is hallmark of a good EV!

You found the hard way to open the hood. There is a button to the left of the steering wheel. And on the key fob.
You would think that the cover would have been a clue that it wasn’t the primary way to open the hood.
The regenerative brakes are awesome on the ev9. And at 100% charge in eco mode I’m getting an estimated 340-360 miles. I doubt that that’s totally accurate but still notably more than the 280 miles as spec’d.
We have the light long range same thing only charged to 100% a few times but close to 340 miles with hilly terrain using air cond
I genuinely love this thing. I test drove it since the Lightning isn’t cutting it for the growing family. It rides smooth, has tons of utility, and I like the goofy design (and 4 spoke). I just wish it was a tad more affordable.
You making me wanna get one lol can’t wait for December
I was just waiting to see this review! Thank you so much and great job!
You have the best auto review channel on UA-cam. You are funny and entertaining and I always learn a lot too! Thanks for another great video.
Thanks so much for the kind comment. Cheers!!
Expensive, but I think they're really going for "discount premium" here especially on this trim. Made for people forgoing an X5 or GLE
Bad ass, I think it looks fantastic. Great review as always👌💯🙏
Your reviews are fun and still cover lots of content. Not so serious like all the others. Nice change
I never knew playing with your “paddles” could be an innuendo 😂
It is so easy to do an innuendo these days. Huzzah!
It even made the car squirt
The guy rides an Evie so you'd think anything named "EV" would... I best not finish that dumb Dad joke even if today is Father's Day

*your kiddo
Muzio family car reviews: Yay!
Four spoke wheels: Boooooooo!
Keep up the great work guys. 😎❤️
Thank you for posting this review. I requested it a couple of months ago.
Looking forward to the ev5 gt-line review
You'll be waiting for a long time since the EV5 isn't coming to the US.

Currently the thing old me off is it ability to up convert the 400v Tesla charger can only goes up to 84 kw which is not so good for trip.
Excellent review!
Great stuff! Any plans on reviewing the Lyriq/Blazer EV/Prologue/ZDX
Although there’s no oil, under the plastic panels there is still coolant reservoir & brake fluid to monitor.
I love getting my high five! Thanks!

Is not 4 spines underneath. That's just the cover. Many more spokes underneath
Since most 3 rows right now cost 50k minimum what are your thoughts on rich family friendly in this atmosphere?
Nice review - both of you
I also do not like 4 spoke wheels. Have a telluride and love it - next vehicle?
Thanks for the kind comment…and for agreeing with my anti-4-spoke stance. 😁
As for your question, if you’re asking what to replace your Telluride with…I’d personally just keep the Telluride. It’s an excellent vehicle
Trust me wait until you see the complete redesign of the 2026 Kia Telluride it's bigger and longer and will come as an Hybrid.😀
You guys could have talked about the driver memory feature since you’re trying to target a market with 2 drivers
Those front seats are standard on the GT line. The second row seats are the upgrade.
Hiii! Awesome review. We haven't driven the Light trim but your math checks out. The acceleration numbers are quite slow.
Every time Evie drives, I swear Micah starts sounding like a car salesman who forces himself onto the test drive and peppers the customer with leading questions.
Glad the "crotch adjuster" comment made the edit! Classic Micah! 😂
I love the wheels!
Team 4 spoke! 🥳
FYI… i like this family
It has a retro-futuristic vibe to it.
It looks like my friends Scion Xb 🤔

Need a podcast called “long torso”. 🦎
I saw an EV9 by a Kia Soul and now I can't un-see it... 🤔
4 spoke wheels = retro future 😁
how's the sound system?
It’s decent. Average, I guess. Easy to customize and alter sound settings but I notice that the low frequencies (bass) is more prominent in the second and third rows than in the front.
Isn't saying you have a long torso another way to say you have short legs?
As long as this needs to be serviced at Kia dealerships you’re paying $70k+ for a $20k service experience.
Soo...i am pretty sure irs not a midsized SUV (then again , a highlander is still considered midsize so i guess this is a me problem, lol) but otherthan that its a good video as always (so far atleast - still watching)

Happy Fathers Day my friend.🇺🇸
Merica
Where's Innuendo Iguana at 9:35?
a kia being rich family friendly. how times have changed 😢
“I don’t have $2000! - Not anymore…” Hilarious!
nice base price in my country its 89 000 euro
I pulled up next to one at a stoplight the other day in my telluride, and I have to say they are quite nice. But I really don't ever see myself getting any EV ever...
I want normal door handles too
5 spokes or more! 👍🏾
Thanks for having my back on the great spoke debate of 2024. 🙌
This card has no right to be over 60k for the highest trim. It looks good and has nice seats but that's about it everything else is cheap.
Not everything else, it’s definelty above a normal Kia, but it’s also a electric car, and compared to other 3 row evs it’s much cheaper and bigger
60k for the long light range. No thanks. These cars are crazy expensive.
it seems like ALL of the vehicles you review are "RICH Family Friendly".
That sure has been the case recently. Which is why I'm glad we've been shooting reviews for less expensive cars. Coming soon!
it better be better than the telluride for 75 k
Yes, shirts to showcase our long torsos! 🐍
Family isn't about blood, it's about love. ❤

Kia damn lost its mind for a $74k car
No tax credit is an instant no
Only PHEV for me, no EV considered!
They should cancel this poorly executed Vehicle. The Paddles turn on the Wipers? They need to start over KIA. Lmao. 😂 and I agree Micah, that was the most Sweeeetie thing she could have done. 😅
I accidentally turned on the wipers instead of moving the paddles. My bad!
Mama Micha lookkn fine 😍
The car is very family friendly, the video not so much 😅
😬
Adult family friendly. :)
Yeah, I have three 70+ lb. dogs (one in the 100+ lb. range). They'd yeet that seat right outta the car trying to get into the back.
Wish the wheels weren't so ugly.
It isn't the four spoke that turns me off with the wheels, it's the over all ugly design. The useless retractable door handles on EVs are something I agree with wifey on.🎉
Naw bro 300 miles them 3hr charge time
It's better than paying$100 to fill up with gas every time. I would rather get an EV and only pay $8 for 300 miles
Here in WA State, the kiddo has to be 4’ 9” before you can ditch the booster.
Electric vehicles are stupid
No one who has actually driven one shares that sentiment. Stop watching Fox News anti-EV propaganda paid for by big oil.
Look forward to the day that your channel is sponsored by Magic Mixies.
