Man, this keyboard brings me back memories. It started / launched my then interest, now strong hobby into the custom Mechanical Keyboard world. With that being said, I 100% agree with everything you said in this video. I just pulled out this keyboard about 20 min ago (after watching this vid) and briefly compared it to my custom Wind X R2 and X98 Let’s just say I put the Logitech back in the box very quickly 😂
the keys look pretty 'bulky' and seem to stick out, doesnt look too great for typing but maybe for certain games where it makes it harder to accidentally actuate skills and such. Not a fan of that myself either, I am using the wireless G915 TKL white instead, its a low-profile TKL keyboard with a metal surface underneath the keys. Typing feels satisfying and has less travel after actuation. Logi Browns as well, although I think Logi uses their own switches and not Cherry ones. Nice, honest review. Btw: what is that red 'lip' on the base of your monitor? Is it a disk drive?
Totally agree with the video just bought it and I know exactly what you mean by sand feeling. The quality of the actual board to type on the aluminum frame feels phenomenal but the switches I am not a fan of feels like it requires way to much effort to type on these not sure why?
I used to love Logitech gaming keyboards but not anymore because they went from Cherry MX Browns to their own proprietary switches. The Cherry MX Brown switches was easy to press down. The Logitech switches are more stiff and harder to press down. This causes my hand to hurt. I have already tried a bunch of the newer Logitech keyboards and can't get use to them. I end up going for the Steelseries Apex 7 (Cherry MX Brown) to get the same switches.
Yeah I have experienced the exact same issue. I tried a friends Corsair MX browns thought I could replicate the feel with the GX browns and was disappointed. After typing for a while on the GX browns my fingers feel so fatigued from typing its just so much force required to type on this. I just checked out the steelseries Apex 7 but I dont think they use cherry switches anymore I just saw the keyboard no longer has them which is unfortunate because they are a nice switches. Also I would prefer that companies stick to using Cherry MX switches but as long as the company manufacturers quality switches that resemble the mx cherrys I have no problem with that but these GX switches are just soooo off.
I had a variation of this exact keyboard like 8 years ago, i think its just a super old design idk. mech keyboards have changed too much for this to be relevant anymore i feel.
It would be fine. It's just the GX switches are so bad can only speak from experience of the brown switches but the bump feel so awful and the entire key press feels so unsmooth.
@@michaeldodaro in 2024 you can find DOZENS of prebuilds at Logitech's price points with incomparably better quality. Logitech is basically selling 2018 keyboards at prices of top-tier 2024 prebuilds. Nah-nah, ain't gonna cut it.
You didn't install the logitech software? There's lots of customization you can add to your keyboard

probably right yeah. And still sold at a high MSRP. they need to just pull it and put out something new

@@F1stzz Everything else about the Logitech board was fine I just didnt like the GX brown switches. The quality of the board was good.
