I saw this with my family in 1964 at the World's Fair, I was 6 yrs old. I love it and make sure I see it everytime we go to Disney World. I sing along, lol.
I always loved this ride ever since I saw it at the New York World's fair in 1965 at the GE exhibit. I always make a point to see this whenever I was at Disney World. Thanks.
As well as to rest in between walking around and riding on rides. Such a beautiful attraction. I even look at washing machines and dish washers and think of this! The world really has made incredible progress!
Was such a hot day in july 2024 we had come off the people mover and saw this opposite it.Went inside and wow what a great show. And great to cool down inside.
We just came back from our first time at Disney and this was my favorite ride,I've never been in a rotating theater before and I love the amount of detail put into making this,I had to go see it again before we left
I personnally adore Carousel of Progress and got a tremendous kick out of at the end when the wife says, 'I have a lot to say' and the male (voice of Rex Allen) says 'gulp'......up until then, she had been busy with the cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc........Hey fellas, bring it back.....I know that there has been other progress in certain fields so you can "up" it that way but, bring it back and give Florida the flower stuff..........
@looneyanimatorstudio They dismantled it because two identical accidents happened that unfortunately, led to the deaths of two people. The accidents didn't happen at the same time, but within months of eachother. They both involved the person going in between the gaps of each "room," and when the building rotated, they got smashed in between the walls.
Been years since I've taken this ride. Is it the same, from Idk how many years ago? Wonder how of it has changed? 15-20 years or so. Well....not much has changed....Loved this one!
My idea to refurb the final act would be to somehow mix the use of audio-animatrons with high def digital screens, and perhaps even have it include a smattering of things from the 60s till now. The best thing about CoP in the summertime is to get to sit and rest and cool down! Kind of the same thing with Hall of Presidents and The American Adventure over at Epcot.
It is Jean Sheppard. Neat thing is that even though he no longer voiced father, Rex Allen did, however, lend his voice to the grandfather in the last scene.
HEY I rode this in the early 2000's and now I'm really confused as to how that's possible.. as I've never been to Florida When did they move it!? Man, I loved this so much as a kid
Something interesting I noticed. The background out the window of each scene seems to rotate with the set while simultaneously staying with the set it belongs to, and I can't figure out how they make that parallax effect.
My parents, God rest them, took me to see this when I was about 5 years old. I can't even make it through the first 1:55 before absolutely losing my sheets. I can't look at human animatronics without this icky, nauseous feeling. I dk why. Just is what it is. And I know it was this ride because it is ingrained into my mind 😢 Moral of the story; you never know what innocent things will scar you children for life lol.
As time goes on the jump from the 1940’s to the last set is getting long. 80 years. It would be nice if they could add the 70’s or 80’s. To bad there’s no room.
Maybe it's not the daughter? Patricia is the daughter of the family. That little girl standing next to Sarah is such a mistery in WDW and Disney himself.

How old are you?!
I think they should have a hologram of Walt Disney introduce the show similar to the way he did during the worlds fair back in the day.
I don't know if by that point holograms would be that new or unique
Love this ride and I don’t care what anyone says. Best ride for a rainy day
Nice 20 minute air conditioned break from Orlando heat too. 😂
I love it too. ❤

Would it be ironic to say that it rained on my last trip after getting off this ride?
Yea.. the song s catchy and sticks in your head when you walk out.
Carousel of Progress & PeopleMover are my favorites no matter how old. True Disney stuff! 💙
Very nostalgic for me. A must ride every time that I come to Disney World.
this and the Tiki Room
Was such a hot day in july 2024 we had come off the people mover and saw this opposite it.Went inside and wow what a great show. And great to cool down inside.
As well as to take a load off your feet for under a half an hour
shoulda been longer, this is my fav ride
I’m from the UK and was lucky enough to see this in 1980 at Florida. I was blown away by it and still talk about it now.
I remembered seeing it young myself! They’ve done a tone of changing since the 80’s
This is so charmingly nostalgic, love it!
Thank you for sharing. It has been great seeing the videos of this ride over the years.
I’m glad they updated clothes for the Christmas section I remember hearing they wanted to update the set to make it more suitable for the present day.
I agree! The last time I was this was back in 2015, the family in the last scene was wearing outdated clothes from the 90’s. They did change it up
This is such a very nice carousel rotating animatronic show. It's really an immediate smash hit. What I also like is the quality of the video to 4K.
We just came back from our first time at Disney and this was my favorite ride,I've never been in a rotating theater before and I love the amount of detail put into making this,I had to go see it again before we left
Carousel of progress is one of my favorites. The Haunted Mansion is my favorite
Thanks for the memories.
The man voicing the father is Jean Shepherd! ( he voiced adult Ralphie in A Christmas Story)
I saw this show when I went to Disney World in 1985 and 1986 !
Again how old are you?!
Disney Land should have a copy of this ride they have the space for it. Thank you for the video brings back memories when it was at Disneyland.
Right! they need to bring it back I love this ride me and my dad saw this in 1972 before they took it away.

@looneyanimatorstudio yes, a cast member died and also a tourist. I can’t remember whether it was a child.
With "The Best Time of Your Life" was General Electric's Carousel of Progress a great attraction.
IT WAS REMOVED..?
Been years since I've taken this ride. Is it the same, from Idk how many years ago? Wonder how of it has changed? 15-20 years or so. Well....not much has changed....Loved this one!
These animatronics or cool, it’s like gta quality irl 😅

Carousel of Progress was my favorite ride when it was at Disneyland Anaheim ... 😢🏰
4:49 and 10:13 Mel Blanc's voice.
10:13 Uncle Orville sounds like Sylvester the Cat!
Mel Blanc played both characters too.
@@kuluke2002 Mel Blanc was the voice of Uncle Orville
Jimmy: Shucks! Every time he has company, he blows a fuse. And guess who always has to change it.
I heard that young man! I heard that ! 😂
Is that the late man Sheppard as the father? Quite a change from Rex Allen!
It is Jean Sheppard. Neat thing is that even though he no longer voiced father, Rex Allen did, however, lend his voice to the grandfather in the last scene.
The end song is very great
Here we are in 2023 and I STILL have issues either undercooking or burning my electric oven meals 🙃🥴😢
The only disney song that i actually willing sing along to
What about zip I dee do da?
HEY
I rode this in the early 2000's and now I'm really confused as to how that's possible.. as I've never been to Florida

The Magic of Disney!!

Thank you for uploading this. The other video I saw had a bunch of children making noise. So annoying.
Did you know the voice actress of the Sarah is also the voice of Velma dinkley
This better stay at MK.
I hope so too. It’s my favorite thing in Tomorrowland there.
Depends on what you called progress!
Such powerful memories of that.
A shame this is not at Disneyland anymore.
I wish the AC worked better on this ride!
I don't understand why the daughter has dark hair in the first scene and then she becomes a blonde
Maybe it's not the daughter? Patricia is the daughter of the family. That little girl standing next to Sarah is such a mistery in WDW and Disney himself.
I’m 68.
The new singers at the end are not so hot. The classics were the best! SAD
