Love seeing Walt explain the Carousel of Progress. It still amazes me that they did this back in the 60's and can only imagine how people reacted then!
Carousel of Progress remains one of my all time favorite attractions...the animatronics, the humor and the catchy theme song! And the fact that this was created by Walt himself, give this attraction that warm and fuzzy feeling one can only get from Disney.
Walt is truly one of my inspirations and heroes. Being able to see footage of him talking about the attractions that I know and love to this day is an amazing thing.
This ride has Walt's personal touch on it.... ...and the last time I was on it in August 2008, I was already singing along with it before we even got to act 1! :D
The real magic is always taking care of your guest. I v been to them parks where the only thing you get is a finger to the exit. To disney kindness is its legacy its what set's disney apart if they had three rides and that was it, people would come back just to be treated like they existed for the day.
Walt was so ahead of his time! Can't imagine what he'd think of all the progress Disney has made technology-wise the past decades. The animatronic in this video looks better than some I've seen in modern theme parks. Disney is the number 1 of audio-animatronics in the world today, and it seems like they already were back in the 60's!
This ride and attraction never gets old can probably go to it every day and probably never get tired of it it’s so cheery and makes you think of what we can set out and achieve thanks Walt for creating this masterpiece and may your spirit of showing the American family throughout the century go about and carry the same feel as you intended warm and showing our possibilities
Why don't people explain how their creations work anymore?! Ever since I was 4, I have always loved how things worked, when I went to a movie theatre I was more interested in how the projector worked than what the movie even was.
I absolutely love the "Carousel Of Progess"!🎡🎠🎢🎪🎭🪄 We always make a point of having it be the first ride we go on every time we're in the park. It's fantastic! I wish more rides were similar in theme/nature. It's sad to see the older ways of doing things along with old school designs & animatronics becoming obsolete and ultimately replaced. They just don't make em like they used too. *sigh* 😔
I love this! So cool! I love seeing the technology behind one of my favorite attractions! I love the Carousel of Progress so much! I graduated high school this year and my senior quote was "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow..." :D
My mother saw the Carousel of Progress at the 1964 Workd's Fair in New York. Every time we visit WDW, we MUST see this ride, because hmit holds such a special place in her, and our whole family's, hearts.
I just figured out that this was most likely edited from the original. The song from carousel of progress used to be "The Best Time of Your Life" and this one shows Disney asking them to play "A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" which was not added to the ride until 1993. Anyway, this is still as sweet video, I love hearing Mr. Disney talk about his ideas and passions. He was such an inspiration.
At Disneyland when this show left, it became the America Sings show! Now it's Innoventions! They still sing Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow at the Beginning of the show though!
I learned that there was an original song for the attraction when they first introduced this at the world's fair then they then it became "theres a great big beautiful tomorrow "
I think it would cool to update the Crousel of Progress to reflect the 1950s 60s 80s 90s Etc. It would be fun to see the technological progress over the last 60 years things we take for granted today 😊🇺🇸👍🏻
Can you just imagine the incredible things Walt Disney would be doing today if he were still alive. He was a great 🇺🇸 American 🇺🇸that inspired us to think towards the future.
There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow Shining at the end of every day There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow And tomorrow's just a dream away Man has a dream and that's the start He follows his dream with mind and heart And when it becomes a reality It's a dream come true for you and me So there's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow Shining at the end of every day There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow Just a dream away
I've got a mysterious question for Act 1 in Carousel of Progress: Who is that little girl next to Sarah? Walt Disney was a great American person, who made pictures come to life. He made such great things.
What I would like to see is a return to the Rex Allen narration but with a new supporting cast, an ending that matches the original, and Allen's lines taken from different takes, similar to what they did with Mr, Lincoln.
Amazing! I didn't realize that the audio animatronics had this kind of life-like programming in this manner. Also, this needs better captions because youtube's auto captions aren't accurate for me. :(
very cool to see how the animatronics work, the carousel of progress is one of my family's favourite rides, we make sure to go on it at least once every time we visit WDW
Am I the only Person who thinks that Howard Stark is inspired by Walt Disney? Such a great person who changed the whole world! He died at the right time, i‘am sure that He doesn‘t want to live in the todays World.
Love seeing Walt explain the Carousel of Progress. It still amazes me that they did this back in the 60's and can only imagine how people reacted then!

I look forward to it every time. it's so under appreciated but it's honestly one of the best things at any theme park period.
Walt Disney has such a beautiful and calming voice. I could listen to him all day long. Thank you Walt for everything!
Walt Disney was the most imaginative man ever. RIP WALTER DISNEY
RIP.
I love you Walt Disney. Rest in peace
3:05
the crazy thing is, actions that needed those big machines back then, can probably be handled by a single computer today
Walt Disney is my inspiration. I wanna be just like him one day.
I am willing to work with you on that
Wow Disney was ahead of his time. very cool.
its fake
+Finest xXmanXx what do you mean?

Walt personally loved this attraction. I think the dog is so cute.

I love footage of Walt Disney
The footage and sound are amazing. I always loved watching his segments.
Why don't people explain how their creations work anymore?! Ever since I was 4, I have always loved how things worked, when I went to a movie theatre I was more interested in how the projector worked than what the movie even was.
Walt, you inspire me with your positive attitude and wonderful new ideas.
"Care for a light?"
"No smoking on stage"
THUG LIFE
Happy Birthday Walt Disney
Genius pure genius!!! This man is one of the best inventor, creator and icon ever existed
This will forever be my favorite attraction
Walt Disney was a true icon. Rest in Peace.
I love him. He made such a good ride.
1960? This is impressive!
If anyone asked me "What century was made this attraction? " I probably would say:1980?
Walt Disney ahead of his time.
A classic ride. My younger brother loves the theme song played on the ride too.
Great, now for the next week I'll have ITS A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY- stuck in my head
Walt can be describe as the most popular entrepreneur, but a dreamer nonetheless.
All in a GOOD way!
Walt is an inspiration to so many people including myself 💖
You have to appreciate how advanced this technology was back then! The work of some talented, hard working people!
I absolutely love the "Carousel Of Progess"!🎡🎠🎢🎪🎭🪄 We always make a point of having it be the first ride we go on every time we're in the park. It's fantastic! I miss him...
He was great, wonderful man
He shall be honored for many years to come
These animatronics are so incredible
That was awesome. I love visiting The Carousel of Progress every time I visit The Magic Kingdom. Thank you so much for posting this.

This is my favorite ride.
I love this! So cool! I love seeing the technology behind one of my favorite attractions! I love the Carousel of Progress so much! I graduated high school this year and my senior quote was "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow..." :D
Are we all ignoring the dog that lived nearly 40 years?
My mother saw the Carousel of Progress at the 1964 Workd's Fair in New York. Every time we visit WDW, we MUST see this ride, because hmit holds such a special place in her, and our whole family's, hearts.
This is one of my favorite rides to go on, and that song will be stuck in your head for hours XD
Happy Birthday
One of my favorite rides (because it's a great big beautiful tomorrow )
Wow, motion capture technology decades before there was even a name for it. Unbelievable.
Cor some reason, I always get chills every time I this attractions' theme song.
Me and my dads ultimate favorite. ☺️
1:32- Looks like Motion Capture used in 3D video games and modern movies.
This ride is my life and breath
did anyone notice they changed the dog i like this dog better its cuter then the one today

Was just on it yesterday. Classic. I love the attraction
At Disneyland when this show left, it became the America Sings show! Now it's Innoventions! They still sing Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow at the Beginning of the show though!
I'm so glade that he created this ride! Small World Clock Tower is my favorite!"
Most magical attraction in the park!
Best ride in walt disney world magic kingdom!
Marvelous! Seeing Walt Disney years ago! I’m in Disneyland and I love this so much!
The best of the best! Those were the days!

Been on this ride a lot of times and that song always gets stuck in my head for the whole time were at disney!! Haha
I really wish I knew walt❤️ I go to Disney world every year and my family talks about Disney every day all the time
0:58 - 1:11 : You can't convince me that was wasn't B-Roll footage of an actual rehearsal. That looked too natural to be rehearsed.
Walt Disney & Shigeru Miyamoto
Two of the most POWERFUL people in my opinion!
My hero
I learned that there was an original song for the attraction when they first introduced this at the world's fair then they then it became "theres a great big beautiful tomorrow "
I think it would cool to update the Crousel of Progress to reflect the 1950s 60s 80s 90s Etc. It would be fun to see the technological progress over the last 60 years things we take for granted today 😊🇺🇸👍🏻
my fave ride!! i love carousel of progress!!

There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
And tomorrow's just a dream away
Man has a dream and that's the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It's a dream come true for you and me
So there's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away
Awesome video, thank you for sharing it!

He is so creative
look at walt sweet talking that its a small world babe!
Mine and my Mom's Favorite with the people mover at Disney World.
I LOVE the Carousel of Progress
This is the very first attraction to ever have a wait time posted.
Walt lighting that match shows he was a practiced smoker, most people don’t light matches with that flourish.
Gosh, thank you for posting this.
Amazing! I didn't realize that the audio animatronics had this kind of life-like programming in this manner. Also, this needs better captions because youtube's auto captions aren't accurate for me. :(
I think Walt is wearing the type of sweater that Mr. Rogers wears in his show
very cool to see how the animatronics work, the carousel of progress is one of my family's favourite rides, we make sure to go on it at least once every time we visit WDW
At 4:28 he says "Girls? Would you please...?" Someone would get offended now. "I ain't no girl!!"
why are my eye's getting so wattery?
omg walt disney!!!!!!!
Happy Anniversary CP @ WDW! I haven't gone in for a visit in over 30 years. I'll try to talk myself into it next time :)
The audio animatronic rig is so cool! I'm surprised that tech existed back then
Disney's people created it.
Am I the only Person who thinks that Howard Stark is inspired by Walt Disney?
Such a great person who changed the whole world! He died at the right time, i‘am sure that He doesn‘t want to live in the todays World.
Let's hear it for a precursor of motion capture as we know it today.
Wow.
Great Work Mr. Walt Disney. X
God I love this song
That was ahead of it's time
May you RIP Walt. :(
Hi Walt Disney
Woah!!! They had this technology back then? Cool and retro!
THis is my fave ride
Magic 🌌🏫🎨
