When I was just married back in the 80's I listened to Elisabeth every day on the radio. She helped me to grow as I was a newly born again Christian. I miss her so much and over the years I could never find anyone who could fill her shoes. It was great watching her in this video since I never saw her in person, just listened to her voice.
I’m in the same boat Gail. I have been having a feast with the resources I just found and Revive our hearts has been sharing on her messages on suffering. Like always E.E. Was now even in death she meets me right where I need to hear wise encouragement that soars the soul. God is good... she still touches us. Thank you Jesus and ROH and Valery for sharing the funeral . Awesome!
His voice calm me in a way that I actually can listen and cry. I really love Jesus even if I am in pain, I know Jesus because of the pain I´ve been throught. He is my savior I know He is.
A very timely message from a dear sister in the Lord Jesus. Thank you all for sharing these insightful encouraging words and affirming that our God is not only mighty, sovereign but intimate, wise and generous with us as we suffer and grow into Christ likeness. He hears our deepest hearts cry of pain when no-one else understands and comforts us with all His wonderful self. Thanks so very much.
I'm so thankful for the technology that allows us to continue listening and learning from Elisabeth Elliot's yers of talks, even as she is enjoying her reward in Heaven. My mom got saved from Jim Elliott's martyrdom story (she was a child in Sunday school in the 50's when it happened, and she was very moved by the story). I am currently reading thew new(er) biography "Becoming Elisabeth Elliott." I love it so far.
Brilliant message. I married a woman suffering with severe bipolar disorder, with two children. We believed then and today, that this was what God had done. Bipolar is still a problem for her, but with 9 sons' and 3 daughters, and 16 grandchildren that suffering isn't so bad. Or should I say, the idea of God, is apparent.
I am blessed to have known you Ms. Elisabeth Elliot through your various talks. It is the Lord’s leading I believe, since I have been wanting to listen to Godly woman speaks. All praises to our God!
Your messages have blessed me enormously thank you I can relate to all your saying I’ve been born into an an wanted family 60 years later I’m still suffering a lot but today I’m happy because of the old rugged Cross Amen 🙏
Merciful Father, we pray for Johnny this day. Thank you for giving him the strength to endure whatever he is going through. We pray for comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding in the midst of this storm in Jesus's name we pray.🙏 Jesus, we trust in you.
I'm sorry for your loss😢 it must have been a long, drawn out kind of pain of grief and loss. I'm happy you found comfort here in Elizabeth's messages. Me too, Sister. 🙏💙🤗
You come from a deep place to share God's truth...having worked with disabled people I thought I should never complain! Many of those persons have more heart & spirit than the so-called "normal" persons. Also, I think that going into a foreign land as a missionary...well, very courageous! Thank you. D
I'm so sorry, Frieda. Heavenly Father, we pray for Frieda this day, that she has the peace that surpasses all understanding knowing she will be reunited in Heaven with her husband. Thank you for comforting Frieda and healing her heart of any loneliness, sorrow and trauma, so she can carry on and finish this earthly race well. We pray for grace to persevere for Frieda's entire family in Jesus's name we pray. 🙏
There are a few points I'm still struggling with regarding the story of Job. First, since God is all-knowing, it should not have been necessary to test Job or take up Satan's challenge. It should have been clear to God that Job didn't only love Him on account of His blessings. And why did God feel the need to prove anything to Satan? If Satan doubted God or Job, that was his problem; God owed nothing to him. Not only did God see that Job was virtuous, but He must have ALREADY known that Satan was wrong, which seems to have made the entire test superfluous. Did God want to show that Satan was wrong, that Satan had a major blind spot? Now what, if anything, would have been gained by proving Satan wrong? Was that supposed to change Satan in some way? If so, Satan would probably have hated God even more. Clearly, since Job was known for being the most virtuous man of his time, that kind of suffering was not necessary for purification. There are elements in the story which, at least on the face of it, don't make much sense to me. I should add that there needn't be any God associated with suffering. It's perfectly possible that your karma, and karma alone, that determines the sort of experiences you'll have.
🎀🕯️ I had a dream in year 2018. The dream was I entered in heaven and the message was that God ordered his armies of heavens to go to the sky to go to battle. My understanding of this dream is that there is a war in heavens already with God's armies to fight the enemies. The second dream I entered heaven and saw the word apocalypse upon the clouds written and it is in thunder and lightning events. Endure until the end because God is in control until the end. Thank God for his faithfulness and promises. 🕊️☁️ God bless
This blessed Saint has gone to be with her Lord. She knows of which she speaks. (I 1st heard her teach? preach? At Urbana 1973 as a brand new believer. And yet, is she not also "teaching"? I as of yet not been exposed to the rigid interpretations concerning this issue. Thankfully. Do men as well as women not learn from this? Thank God for what shes learned and shared .
22:07 Jesus said, “No one is good, but the Father” Only Yahweh… Remember that, and then when your cup of suffering comes, (because it will come), you will not fall for the evil one’s deception of, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” … It has to be one of the top ways the devil separates us from the Father, yet, it is because we live in a fallen world - and that is ALL the fault of the devil, NOT the Father. There is no mystery. There is sin and not sin. There is good and there is evil.
Let me tell you about my experience with Elizabeth Elliot while at Gordon College I lived in a building connected to a bunch a garages that stored things. I remember coming out of my room for class , and her ordering me , not asking me to help her. I was 28 at the time I looked at her quizzically ? I said to myself she ordering me. ? I said , I don’t know who you are , but I don’t get ordered around
So are you trying to point out that she was so evil and that if she was a so called Godly woman, she wouldn’t act the way she did with you? Or are you simply pointing out that you acted in rebellion against her actions and that it made you feel in control? Word of truth brother is that we all fall short of Gods glory. A true conversion doesn’t mean we walk without troubles. She struggled with her growth in Christ just as you and I struggle every single day. Instead of acting out in rebellion, seeing that you were a lot younger at the time, should have approached her with kindness. Asked her if you could pray for her. She might’ve had been dealing with something. We are told biblically to respect our church elders. Even if they are in the wrong. God tells us to turn and give the other cheek. God molds us and prunes us not overnight, but throughout our lifetime here. I’ll be praying for you brother. May the Lord bless you, humble you and continue to work in you. He that began a good work in you will make sure it’s complete, that you may lack nothing when you see Him in His glory. God bless.
When I was a kid I would get beaten if I saw something that needed done and I didn’t do it or someone needed help and didn’t help them. It was expected that you didn’t wait to be asked, you just did it. People are raised differently though. I hardly meet anyone today that steps in to help without being asked, paid or manipulated into it. But I always had a job and got raises all the time because that stood out to people.
Very eloquent woman. Only one question I have she never mentions as far as what I listen to the enemy. There are scriptures of the enemy devouring God's people. Here's another thing I heard a woman's testimony years ago she was horrifically murdered. With knives in her face. They put her in the morgue. But she was brought back to life. She was able to testify against her own murderer. Here's the wonderful twist while this person was murdering her in a automobile parking garage. A giant Angel jumped in front of her. Smiling she never felt the stabs she never felt the pain .there's an angel between her and the perpetrator. We only know this because she lived through this horrible murder. So how much more are God's people comforted more than we think when they are being attacked by the enemy. I just have one question do we blame everything that Satan did on God....
Do we blame everything that Satan did on God? That’s a puzzling question to me. The answer lies only in your relationship with the Lord. A lot of what happens on this earth is so puzzling to us because we simply do not have the capacity to understand. See Job for what I mean! Also Isaiah the Lords ways are higher than my ways. Also lean not on your own understand but In all things trust the Lord with all your heart soul and mind. I am referring you back to scripture. Satan does horrid things but when you understand these scriptures you will realize as Christians we don’t blame God we trust him!!!! Blessings
@@erikacox9983 I test all men and all teaching according to the Word, which is why I don't understand why CS Lewis is held in such high esteem. He believed in a hell which one day would be empty as even the vilest sinner would eventually turn to God. He also believed a man could be saved and not know it, salvation occurring by simply adhering to the tenants of whatever his religion was. The fact that he also said he was, "the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England," does not sound like a man who truly believed. @@fatesfingers No, it was a statement of fact. After I heard CS Lewis mentioned, I posted my comment and didn't watch anymore. CS Lewis believed people could be saved apart from Jesus and that hell was actually a form of purgatory, from which all people would eventually leave to go to heaven. For that reason I don't listen or watch, people who quote him, as they are either ignorant of the Scriptures or deliberately ignore them. I would also ask you to reflect on this.
