The Skele-Gro that Harry had to drink, we find out on Pottermore which is now Wizarding World with a deeper dive, Harry Potter's great-grandfather created the potion which started their Fortune. Then Harry's grandfather, Harry's father's father, took that money and made Sleek easy hair potion which I believe tripled their Fortune at least doubled it. That's where all the money that's in Harry's vault.
54:24 well, the car was already enchanted. It just was so enchanted to the point after taking so much damage from a very powerful magically soaked Location at Hogwarts it became self-aware.
I've always imagined how fun it is to be in the inside a flying car to get around certain places.
The basilisk is the type of snake that nobody wants to cross paths with. Also it's very amazing that Ron's family has a magic car. And it's very sad that Moaning Myrtle died at such a very young age because of the basilisk and Voldemort. Also Harry Potter setting Dobby free at the ending of the movie was very cool.
I'm not gonna lie....when I first saw the basilisk in this movie, I had the same reaction Ron had with Aragog. (side note: I am NOT fearful of snakes or spiders). Also, every time I hear Hermione say "She's a little sensitive" to describe Moaning Myrtle, I always have the same first thought: A LITTLE sensitive?"
Side note: Hedwig is a snowy owl. They have white feathers with black spots that act as camouflage when they're hunting, their wing feathers are ruffled to muffle their wing flaps so prey animals don't hear them coming (like all owls, really) and they're the only birds in the world whose feet aren't bare, due to their habitat being snowy areas, like the Arctic Tundra.
Another interesting thing about snowy owls is that females have more speckles than males.

Apparently, Jason Issacs didn’t want to play Lucius Malfoy, because he was about to play Captain Hook in the 2003 ‘Peter Pan’ movie and didn’t want to be playing a villain in two children’s films one after another. So when he was sent to the audition, he tried to play as over the top sinister as he could and Chris Columbus just went, ‘Great, you’ve got the part!’.

The thing about the Harry Potter books is that the author, JK Rowling originally wrote the series for adults. It was the book publishers that decided to advertise it as children's books. If you read between the lines of the story you will see it is a satire. First, one has to understand that you the reader are looking at the story through Harry Potter's point of view as he grows up throughout the years at Hogwarts. In the first book and movie Harry is 11 years old so you see his world from his 11 year old mindset and maturity. But as he grows up and begins to understand things more and more the story gets darker and less innocent as he matures with age.
The reason I call the books a satire is that many of the stories deals with racism of a different kind and political corruption. Dobby might be a house elf but nevertheless he is a slave just the same. There might not be any racism in the wizarding world against people of color but there is racism against wizards who do not come from pure magical families.
Harry doesn't see the horrible similarities between the wizarding world and the muggle world at this point because he is only 12 years old during The Chamber of Secrets. To a certain extent he is still an innocent little boy and is not mature enough to comprehend it all to the fullest extent.

Muggles can't see them entering the platform because of how muggle brains work, seeing something like that the brain basically says wait that's not physically possible and they become blind to it. It's basically the opposite of snow blindness where you're so focused on something that you become blind to it and you can't actually find it so like when you're looking for, your keys and you were staring right at him the entire time but you never actually saw them at first. It's kind of the same thing just up in Reverse your brain can't comprehend actually seeing something like that happening and thinks oh it's a mistake.
Fun Fact: The line "Well, let us hope Mr.Potter..." was actually improvised, just as much as Dans response to it.
At the end when Lucius Malfoy was casting the spell on Harry don't pay any attention to it, the actor couldn't remember his line and so he just made up a spell that he heard in one of the later books. He was reading book 4 at the time and in that book is when you learn about that spell.
Yes Moaning Myrtle now stays at Hogwarts in the bathroom, but that's only after the ministry of magic banded her there because she was hunting the girl that made her cry the night that she died. After that woman went to the Ministry of magic complaining they then forced Moaning Myrtle to stay at Hogwarts and she decides to stay in the bathroom because of that's how she is. When it comes to the car what happened is Ron's father Enchanted it so that way it would be able to fly, in some way it has some kind of mind of its own it came to help Ron and his time of need. Though how it knows that Ron needs help and why it actually does that I can't recall if it's fully explained I know it's not in the books but it might be on Pottermore somewhere.
In the first book before Harry goes to Hogwarts they actually gave him Dudley's second bedroom. It was one of their ways of trying to keep him there and nuts to go to Hogwarts. Also probably a little bit of shame because the address on the envelope says the cabinet under the stairs, so they thought that someone was watching them at one point.
It was more a case of not wanting to be seen in a bad light by anyone..even if it is "that lot".
If you rewatch the Duel scene between Potter and Malfoy, when Snape picks up Malfoy, there is a camerman in the bottom left in plain sight, one of the biggest film goofs, imo... still love this movie and this reaction. Keep it up

I believe the Phoenix is recall memory, because in the books it's not explaining the movies but in the books want to Dumbledore's ancestors, did something for a phoenix earned its trust and whenever a Dumbledore is in need a phoenix is there. That's how he had his pet Phoenix

GREAT REACTION and yes! The elves are enslaved here and they remain enslaved more or less as far as we are aware. There is A LOT of elf lore and storylines that include the elves which were cut for the films.
In the BOOKS (none of this is included in the films so no spoiler warning needed), Hermione starts the Society for the Promotion of Elvish Welfare and she starts it because they discover that Hogwarts is entirely run by enslaved elves. Like a lot of them. Turns out their food isn’t magically appearing on their tables, it’s infact thanks to elf slavery. She finds it disgusting. Ron pushes back against her (as usual), and even makes fun of her society by calling it S.P.E.W.
Dobby, after his freedom from the Malfoys, makes the choice to go work alongside the enslaved elves at Hogwarts and he gets paid for it since he’s a free elf. There is also a second free elf that isn’t in the movies at all, named Winky, who works at Hogwarts as well. She worked for a family that is seen in the films but she never appears in the movies. Hermione believes that it’s a good thing that Dobby is working at Hogwarts as a free elf because Dobby is so well adjusted and happy. She thinks that the other elves can see what freedom can do for them by Dobby’s example. Harry, however, fears that Winky, who is way less well adjusted; she’s a drunk and is distraught because she didnt want to be set free in the first place, will give the opposite impression to the other still enslaved elves.
This is exactly what happens. Essentially, the enslaved elves of Hogwarts retaliate against Hermione for pushing the society she created for elvish welfare by refusing to clean the Gryffindor common room. Keep in mind that all of these elves have a family history of enslavement. Meaning that if your family has a house elf, your mom or dad probably grew up with that house elf’s mother being their house elf, and then your grandma or grandpa grew up with that house elf’s mother being their house elf. It’s generational which is why Winky is so distraught at being free. But, at the end of the day, the Hogwarts elves help to fight against Voldemort in the last book (something they usually wouldnt have done) and Ron expresses concern for them during it, which shows that S.P.E.W did actually have an affect.
Later on, Hermione works at the Ministry of Magic for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures so it’s clear that this whole elf enslavement issue is very passionate to her. And it’s likely that her society is a reference to a real life women’s organization, Society for Promoting the Employment of Women (SPEW), which was one of the earliest British women’s organizations.
In the book you find out basically that Dumbledore knew that Lockhart was a fraud comma at the end when he shows back up with his memory wiped with Harry and Ron. Dumbledore I forget the exact line but says that's how you were speared by your own sword. Meaning he knew that he was wiping people's memories and taking their credit, the reason why he hired him was to show Harry Fame isn't everything. Not to rely on Fame and not to let it go to your head. That is why he hired Lockhart basically to teach Harry a particular lesson to help him grow.

Hagrid was expelled in his 3rd year his wand was snapped and he keeps the pieces in his umbrella. Dumbledore let him stay on an assistant to the old groundskeeper. Hagrid's mom had left and his dad had died at that point.
Hermione explains in the books that Hogwarts is actually hidden, if any muggle comes near it all they see is a crumbling castle ruin with a fence around it warning "Danger: keep out"

Hogwarts is hidden behind enchantments so Muggles when they look at Hogwarts they see if I remember correctly ruins of a construction site with warning sign saying keep out dangerous. But if you're magical you see Hogwarts as it is.
Fun Fact: I'm pretty certain that the Actor who played Harry's voice dropped mid-filming bc I've seen trailers with his voice still being high in certain shots. I'm guessing those shots got re-dubbed later.

I mean it had to, they filmed it right after the first, so in theory he would have been damn near the same age in this movie as he was in some scenes of the first film. It's not like they waited a year or two.

Fun fact: Lockhart (the coward teacher who tried to erase Ron and Harry's memories) was a Ravenclaw (one of the main traits of a Ravenclaw is wisdom) when he was at Hogwarts. Despite him admitting that the ONLY things he's good at are memory altering spells. Personally I think he should have been Slytherin because of his conniving method of gaining fame

It was the only spell that Jason Isaacs knew so that's the one he used but ya even Lucius Malfoy couldn't get away with the outright attempted murder of a student in broad daylight.

The reason most muggles don't see magic happening around them is sometimes attributed to protective spells having been places on objects or places so that regular none magical folks can't see or notice them. For example, Hogwarts is a massive castle located in the highlands of Scotland. But when muggles come across it they only see old ancient empty castle ruins. If muggles find themselves getting too close to it then suddenly the muggles will start to think they have someplace important they have to go to that they previously forgotten about.
In rare other cases when a muggle happens to witness magic by mistake, the local wizarding government called The Ministry of Magic will come and magically erase that particular memory from the muggle's mind.
Certain cases are allowed only to a certain extent, like in the case of a wizard or witch having been born from a muggle family or is being raised by a muggle family like Harry and the Dursleys for example. But even then the wizarding child is not allowed to perform magic even in front of their muggle family even though their muggle family members know about their relative being born a witch or wizard and that they attend Hogwarts.
The Wizarding communities consider it vital that their existence remain a secret for their protection incase for example muggles decide to bring back the witch trials and start burning wizards at the stake again among many other reasons as well.

Cause when you see him talking to fake Crabbe and Goyle, and compare it to him confronting Harry in the bookshop, you can see a difference of his appearance I think, and his voice sounds deeper with Harry than it does with the fake version of his… friends? Bodyguards? Both? Idk. Can’t control puberty, but I felt on mentioning that detail

I believe Hogwarts is located in Scotland and it is hidden by charms from the muggles. But it is not on another plane or anything.

You're right. The Weasleys got worried when Harry wasn't answering anyone's letters. Mr & Mrs Weasley planned to go check on him but Ron and the twins beat them to it because they didn't know.
The Weasleys wouldn't accept money from Harry. Too much pride. Ron was too afraid to tell his parents he broke the wand after they had just shelled out quite a bit on Ginny's wand and 2nd hand school supplies plus the 4 sets of fairly expensive Lockhart books for school. They didn't have to pay for Ginny's set of Lockhart books because Harry gave her the free set that Lockhart gave him and bought his own set. He at least talked the Weasleys into accepting those.

The Polyjuice Potion is supposed to change your voice as well as appearance. I guess they wanted to keep kids from getting confused in the movies by who was who.
Hagrid was only 13 when he got expelled and they snapped his wand because Tom Riddle/Voldemort framed him and Aragog for Myrtle's death. That's why Hagrid isn't allowed to do magic strictly speaking. Because Hagrid's father had died after he started school making him an orphan Dumbledore arranged fir him to live with the gamekeeper at the time and learn his job.
Ron's dad had enchanted the car and it eventually became sentient.
