In the first movie it was mentioned by Hagrid, that Harry Potter is famous becose he survived Voldemort trying to kill him... All what Voldemort wonted was to kill Harry Potter, and Harry's parents were in the way
The easy way to know how old a student is in Hogwarts is that it almost matches the school year they are in. You first start attending Hogwarts at year 1 when you are 11 years old. Then year 2 when you are 12. Year 3 at 13 years old. Year 4 at 14 years old. Year 5 is 15 years old. Year 6 is 16. And then your final year at Hogwarts is year 7 when you are 17 years old.
In the wizarding world you are considered an adult at 17 years old as apposed to the normal muggle world where an 18 year old is considered a legal adult.
In Goblet of Fire Harry is in his 4th year at Hogwarts and is only 14 years old.

@@robbob5302 patience is key thats why I was just mentioning and requesting not demanding they watch it I know it’ll take more likes but I also don’t know what’s on there patreon or whatever so they may be getting requests for it already but we just don’t see it on UA-cam.. It doesn’t hurt to request a movie or tv show you personally enjoy there’s only so much they can watch before you have to listen to the other peoples requests. not everything ages equally especially cartoons/animated shows some just aren’t as good now as they were as a child but people still let nostalgia get in the way of there requests so why not request arguably the greatest movies of all time

I don't care how many times I see this movie. The ritual to restore Voldemort, and seeing him rise out of the cauldron will always simultaneously send shivers racing up AND down my spine and make me nauseous.
Trivia:
They got the movie appearance of Voldemort almost identical to the book. There is one missing detail: in the book, Voldemort is described as having blood-red eyes with a slit-like pupil. It is understandable why they didn't use creature contact lenses on Ralph Fiennes in the movie adaptations since it would eliminate the realness of Voldemort's threatening presence.
The arachnid the imposter Mad-Eye Moody was demonstrating The 3 Unforgivable Curses on was a tailless whip scorpion.
As someone who was sorted into Hufflepuff on The Wizarding World website, Cedric Diggory's death hit hard. Especially seeing Amos run onto the quidditch pitch and hearing him shout "That's my son!! That's my boy!!"

Neville was traumatized by the Cruciatus Curse's usage because his parents were tortured into insanity with it.

Yup. The scar is where the Avada Kedavra curse hit. I believe Hagrid mentioned it after the shoppingspree, early in movie one. I'm not that sure whether it was mentioned that much after that.

The movies leave out so much context... The old man in the beginning is the care taker of the house where Voldemort and Wormtail are holed up in. He can just walk in because he has a key and no one is supposed to be inside there. the house was actually the house of Voldemort's muggle father and his father's parents... There's more information around that that kind of comes out in Half Blood Prince, but again the movies fall short in explaining context, so I'll be back then to explain more. hahaha

I mean...to play devil's advocate here - it's just stated, like you said in the first one - we know that Voldemort tried to kill Harry; in the early movies, it's made softer for kids. In this one we now KNOW what Avada Kedavra does and I think there's more of a sense of 'Oh my god, so THAT is why he's famous - this horrible dark spell that is unforgiveable, can't readily be defended against is what he survived!' realization is what they meant in this situation.
Harry and Hermione would never work, hes never even thought of her like that once.

Yes the actor playing Neville went through one of the best celebrity glow-ups, I think. This is the movie where he started to lose his baby weight. Seriously, Google his before and after pictures, he's recently acted in the Netflix movie The Pale Blue Eye.

The books established from the beginning that Ron has a huge inferiority complex because he's always overshadowed. Harry becoming a champion was just one time too many for Ron and it pushed Ron over the edge for a bit.
Well they ARE really middle school or freshman age at 14. Even the best of friends have arguments at that age. It just doesn't usually last long same as here.
Give Ron a break. He's a bit clueless..ok a lot. He just realized one of his best friends is an attractive girl. He doesn't even realize he's jealous because he likes her more than just as a friend. 😂 It was obvious they were building up to Ron and Hermione becoming a thing since book one. Harry sees Hermione as a sister. Harry is all into Cho at the moment.
The director of this one made some..weird..changes. Like Myrtle coming on to Harry in the bathtub. That didn't happen in the book. She did help Harry but she wasn't so skeevy.
I still hate that they left Dobby out of the rest of the movies. In the books the trio found out that Dobby was now working at Hogwarts and getting paid for it. He was in all of the books except 1 and 3.
The kids in the water were under a spell and in no real danger but the contestants weren't supposed to know that. Harry was the only one who thought they were really in danger if not rescued.
Those little water demons are called Grindylows and yes they got Fleur and she had to go back to shore in last place.
*Movie: dragon breaks loose to chase Harry all over and tear up Hogwarts
*Book: Handlers including Charlie Weasley had strong chains on the dragons and stunning spells at the ready.
*Movie: Maze spooky but empty
*Book: Maze filled with Acromantulas, Blast-ended Skrewts and a Sphinx. Plus at one point it made you think you were upside down.
The graveyard scene with Voldemort's return and the fight was awesome though.
The grave was Voldemort's muggle father and grandparents. Voldy was named Tom Riddle after his muggle father but his middle name came from his wizard grandfather. His mother named him before she died.
Remember that the wands are twins in a way because they each contain a phoenix feather from the same phoenix (Fawkes). Harry meant to disarm but Voldemort meant to kill and the wands said.. Nope. We aren't killing each other tonight basically.

I think Harry was pretty stupid for going back for Cedric. This whole thing is just a competition, there's no reason to assume that Cedric was in any danger from the hedge maze, and the whole point of a race is to win, so why go back? He just got Cedric killed.

Voldemort and Harry's wands are twin wands, both of which have the same wand core, and if twin wands are used for a duel they will create a phenomenon called "Priori Incantatem" Which is where one of the wands has to give way and in this film Voldemort's wand loses so he has to vomit the previous spell (and most of Voldemort's spells are Avada Kedavra)That's why Voldemort's wand gave off spirits

This was my first movie I watched after getting into the fandom. It also came out after Half-Blood Prince, the penultimate book, so I loved the dark tone and mysterious, ominous vibes. Really made me concerned about what was going to come in the final book.

Neville was supposed to be fat. But as the kid grew, he just got skinnier. Teenagers are unpredictable that way. They got sick of padding him, and just let him be skinny.
This movie got advertised through Cartoon Network, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends was going into commercial break on Friday for the feature's premiere back in Manhattan, New York.
Even though it's my least favorite among the franchise, you can tell how ambitious it got with clever marketing, production value, cinematography, and TV spot promotions.
Plus the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy did a reference episode for the Yule Ball. 😅

My favorite video game series is Shantae (as you could probably tell), and I've always found its Middle-Eastern cultural theme/inspiration quite fascinating, but above all else it's the adorably lively characters bursting with personality that really make the series feel special! And of course the games themselves are wicked fun to play.

This is the only movie where Hufflepuffs have a House representative (Cedric) Hufflepuff was the most inclusive among the four houses, Helga Hufflepuff wants inclusivity in her House. Hufflepuffs valued hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play which Cedric did portray well in this movie 💛 When Harry tipped him about the dragon he asked if Fleur and Krum knew about it too (fair play) and he also tipped Harry about the task in the black lake with the egg. And in Book 3 (Prisoner of Azkaban) He's playing in the Hufflepuff quidditch team against Gryffindor, he asked for a rematch when Harry fell off his broom because of the Dementors (fair-play) andddd When they both reached the portkey in the maze he asked Harry to just take the cup because Harry saved him from the maze at the end of the movie💛 We also have Nymphadora Tonks (She'll appear in Order of the Phoenix) which is a Metamorphmagus......After giving birth to his son Teddy with Remus Lupin....she fought in the battle of Hogwarts after giving birth just shows how she puts others first before herself 💛 AND DONT GET ME STARTED WITH NEWT SCAMAMDER... There are seven years in Hogwarts, and every movie is a different year of school (except the last two which are just part 1 and 2 of the seventh year). Harry is age 11 in the first movie and is 14 in this one. This movie is year four. Kids in year 7 and some of the older ones in year 6 would be 17 in time to put their name in the Goblet

Okay I read all the books watched all the movies multiple times they are doing foreshadowing on the relationship of Hermione and Ron but early in the writing process JK Rowling was considering Harry and Hermione as a couple because she planned on killing Ron but when she decided against doing that she decided on the pairings that we ended up with at the end of the series and I'm not even going to tell you about Harry because you won't see it coming even though it's very f****** obvious in the books
