@A Bcd That is true in many cases. Our family owns large acreage of fruit forest and garden in Trinidad and Tobago and many described as rare here we have an abundance of in our property and across the island. Love the reviews.
I am super fascinated by the jaboticaba as well, after falling in love with the one at Echo that was fruiting...I thought one of mine was dead, no leaves, it was in full sun, I moved it to the understory and it has leafed out totally in just a week, it looks great and I'll have a heart attack when I see a blossom...awesome video, can't wait for #2...
Flying Fox Fruits my pleasure man, just speaking the truth, your farm is amazing best wishes for the future & thank u for doing this video & even replying to my comment, it was an awesome surprise i hope to have even a fraction of your skills & knowledge one day 🙌🏼
You are awesome Pete, been looking forward to a tropical fruit plant fix from you during my working week, will save this to watch at breakfast with wife soon, it’s 7:30am here.
Once again, I am blown away with all the rare species. And also, another grower so close to my home!! Thank you for making these trips out to show us these amazing farms.
This guy has so much knowledge wow. I can totally vibe with these guys that are all about their plants. I’m pretty crazy about my bamboo but I can get down with the rare fruit community.
lol i show them the world of rare fruit that i have created, and they still must ask, "where's the whacky tabacky"....sorry folks, they don't allow that in FL...more power to ya if you're growing it, but I choose to grow stuff that isn't already being grown by a ton of growers world wide, and hasn't been mastered yet. I'd rather create a new market, than participate in one that's already saturated.
@@repliedreplied5552 I'm on a drug called GreenDreams, it's not available, if you try it once you will die! ..... That's how I party! I was planting 7 gal jabos, that's how I roll, winning. I have one gear, GO.... jabo-winning!
Hey bro. I ordered some rare trees from you recently that will soon be planted. Can't wait and thank you for what you do. I need you to talk me into a luc's Garcinia or a lemon drop garcinia. I'm Calif zone 10b and i have a protected area (no greenhouse tho) that might fit one of these. I may jump on ebay right now and grab the Luc's. What say you Adam? Thx
I love to see your love for jabuticaba, I am Brazilian and I love this fruit. Can wait to be growing all these ones. Definitely buy some fruits plants from him. Can't wait to have my food forest. I love your videos.
Thanks Aline! Definitely one of my favorite trees and fruits. The fact that they’re fairly cold hard makes them perfect for central Florida too. I hope to go fruit hunting in Brazil one day 🙏
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL when you go to BRAZIL, You have to go to my state Goias. We have so many different fruits over there that I know you will love. Let me know when you go I will hook you up.
That is really a great vídeo, Adam looks like such a cool dude, I am from Brazil and I work with Jaboticabas. Its nice to see you guys loving this plant that comes from where im from!
If you live in a temperate climate than you live in the perfect location to grow the tropical Pawpaw Tree right in your own backyard. It's the only tropical fruit indigenous to the eastern US temperate climate area. It's also one of the only fruits in the US that isn't sold in grocery stores so it's very uncommon and most people have never even heard of it. They can grow in partial shade or sun and the flavor ranges come from a variety of mixed flavors from banana, mango, vanilla, cantaloupe, strawberry, cotton candy, bubblegum, and tutti frutti.
Pete, love your videos. Bought my home in Florida in 2017 and am putting in edibles now, but struggling with Athracnose. Seems to be every where in this state. My mangos, anonas, avocados, figs, Longan have it to some degree, not to mention the okra, squash, tomatoes. Do you have videos or suggestions on long term control?
As the president of the Umatilla garden club I would like to thank you for the video, we are close to Sanford. My wife and I have some raised beds and some jackfruit, guava and would like to grow more.
I am loving your videos. So cool to learn about these fruits. Most of them I had never heard of. Very interested in them. I'm in North Florida and do not thing most would make it up here, but I would love to try and grow them.
Adam has cool hair, we have similar curls, lol. I’m almost to the end of the video and just wanted to say this was so fun strolling through the orchard and learning about these fruit trees. Also wanted to say to Adam, I loved the sensitivity to your chicken when she wanted to get down, I try to respond exactly the same way with my pets and all animals. It shows an uncommon level of sensitivity and respect for living creatures, also much respect for the comment about squirrels. They nibble my Chaya and bury peanuts in my planter. I use natural deterrents and would rather net it if needed than do anything harmful, I love them. (I learned about Chaya from Green Dreams by the way, so thankful). Also agree about not correcting people if they pronounce something different if you understood, it’s not always easy to resist that conditioned urge deeply ingrained for some reason in our culture, and instead see the big picture, as well as just being respectful. I’m a container gardener looking for a few exotics and I love to learn about them. Love the passion for plants here and explanations of the unique characteristics of each. Thank you both!
BTW, I just subscribed to Adam's UA-cam page...OMG the video of the flying fox fruit freak Jabuticabra...I'm dieing...and a little freaked, but awesome dance moves...lol
thanks Bro...i use holly tone, or any espoma products because readily available and cheap...then i drench with chelated Fe if the plants are pale, and regular fert doesn't help....and if drenching doesn't help, and the tree is in a pot, i completely change the soil...which seems to be a last ditch effort, that works, maybe to remove nematodes or alter pH? but it helps a lot.
This guy is awesome. Really enjoyed his chill, easy-going, and humorous personality. I enjoy all the videos, and most people are pretty cool, but this guy is kind of refreshing.
I’m so jealous right now. Nearly all of this I try to grow and failed so far. Especially the chewbakka fruit is fascinating. BUT Bad seeds, fungus, drought and forgot watering and so on. Really nice garden and super nice guy.
This guy is showing up on a lot of UA-cam channels. He does a lot of grafting. Because of his video with the weird fruit explorer I got some star cherry ( pitangatuba) seeds. Have two in my yard now.
I have a Cherry of Rio Grande that is struggling right now. Leaves are drying up like it hasn't got any water, but I check soil it is damp and we have been getting plenty of rain. Everything else I have planted around it is thriving. The tree has only been in the ground a year and the thing has looked great up until now. Any ideas on what this particular species may require differently?
