Hey GreenDreams. I just wanted to say a huge thanks for your UA-cam videos. You have given me back my passion for gardening. My wife and I went through a stressful few years fostering some teenagers and I’d lost my enthusiasm for getting out to the garden. We have a bit over an acre with quite a few standard fruit trees. Then while waiting on the birth of our first child we happened upon your Costa Rica videos and I just started eating up all your videos (my wife has even become more excited about the garden - she has never really been into it). First tree we went out and bought was a Jakfruit and now we are planning may more tropicals. We have a Loquat now. We live in subtropical Australia (Maryborough, Queensland), my wife is from Virginia, USA. We planted a strawberry tree for our newborn daughter. Thank you for opening a new world of plants to us and giving me back my passion for the garden. I really liked your catch phrase - plant the weeds you want. Just wanted to thank you for the inspiration you have given us. If your ever down under - we have a self contained granny flat that is yours. Thanks.

    Thanks for sharing as always.
Adam ending thought is really important. I have found myself in similar situation where trees were not fruiting even 5 years old or some plants were having issues growing. I was on the verge of throwing them away. But then I came back to my senses and realized why I was growing these plants and the connection to people...
    Keep up this amazing work!

That what happened to us all in America ! The loss of the community small farmers that were sold down the river and the farm bureau and lobbist that worked for the fossil fuel and chemical industries that lied their way to the forefront of our FDA and bribed their way to the top targeting the organic Gardening community and us hippies that were trying to reconnect us back to the communities they abandoned ! In short we lost our connect to our Mother Earth and the love and respect for all life ! Save a few of us ! You are evidence of this love that I speak of and had almost fallen victim to. Keep up the great work that you are doing and the convictions that move your heart and float your boat ! Happy Sailing ! El Capitan's !

Also working of doing some videos with my brother, I have my own youtube channel, and have been making videos when i have time. I plan to do an interview with John kimber and John Morton, two great growers named John, that both grow Jaboticabas in central FL, right near me, they both have amazing collections, and good info to share! Supposed to start filming this Saturday! Will post details on my FB page when it comes out!

@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL lol camera was overheating! by the end of the video i was pretty worn out...we had been walking and talking for like 2hr nonstop, brutal heat and humidity...but to tell u the truth, i would rather be in no other place, with no other people...it was one of the funnest days i've had since i've lived here on my farm, or even started my own business period! (PS, my green house was kind of a disaster at the time, weeds all over, but some big rare fruit trees in there...I got help now, and we are hand pulling weeds as we speak!! I'm always playing catch up!)

I don't see how guys like you two are even able to keep up with what plants you have, you have so many it's nearly unreal. Is the little tree he gave you one you don't have? That was really nice for him to give it to you. Does the machine he has measure the refractive index of something? I never would have dreamed that something like that would have a refractive index, that is usually just for diamonds and stones and I really don't know what else. The guy is definitely an interesting person. Thanks Pete that was 2 more great videos.

great vid great place , i do have some issues with pots , and even more in non freezing climates , being non stable and a lot of work if keeping plants in pots long term , root pruning soil replacement , watering, nutrient replenishment , if no constant upkeep , dwarfing , slow growth, deformation , low production or small fruit, nutrient issues , are what you fight, just know if it isnt going how it should , try something different, no matter what you know you still don't know what you don't know , cheers , and love your farm!!!!

He's got a nice operation going. 2 of the 3 Grimal seeds that I got from Adam have sprouted. Hopefully it won't be too long until there is fruit set. In the mean time, I've got lot's of nanners.

    Welcome.
I see a jaboticaba in your movie.
How much time do you have to wait for the first jaboticaba fruit if the tree is sown from the pit?
What kind of land is the best?
    Will you introduce these varieties:
    Red Hybrid
    Branca-vinho
    Grimal
Which of these high seas grow and bear fruit.

a little too cold here, and hurricane season is a bitch...i don't want to grow these fruits for $ because the storms can rip them off, and flooding splits them, here we get flooding regularly...so i stick with smaller fruits that can take floods, like eugenias, garcinias, and Plinias!! I do love the Annonas though, and keep them around in pots until they get root bound, then i sell them, and grow another smaller one...they make it to about 15-25 gal, 7-10yr old before i end up getting rid of them, or they get too big, and i don't wanna deal with anything larger than 25gal
