I understood why the mother wants mercy. What she doesn’t understand- is that it is not merited in her daughter’s case. Her daughter was not remorseful for her crimes. She was sorry she was caught. Second, she requested help..but for who? Did she help her victims by calling 911 and stopped babysitting? No. She didn’t. Most people with a conscience do.

Wow, that's crazy. I was 13 and babysitting for my much older sister, I couldn't get my nephew to stop crying, I got so frustrated, I spanked him. I realized that was very wrong, and I refused to babysit after that. That's what I mean by my original comment. As humans we are the only animals who do not pay attention to our instincts, alarms went off in my head, I listened. The law is very complex indeed. Each case is unique by the law. I have seen/read cases of the exact same nature, each one having different sentences passed down on time served......no consistency across the board, very confusing imo.

I am a babysitter for many families with young children. The thought of even scratching them makes me sick. I can’t believe how sick it is to drop an innocent baby. This woman deserves all that jail time.

I did daycare the summer of last year and taught preschool last school year and any time a kid would trip, or get hurt at all, I hated it. I made sure to take care of them the best I could and I didn’t even expect to do daycare. My mom was going to do it, but she broke her ankle and had three surgeries on it, so I had to do her job and luckily, the kids got to the point where they didn’t want to leave because they liked being with us so much. But we did go to a trampoline place before school started and one of the girls broke her leg on accident and I cried the whole night after that.

I have very little patience when it comes to children and I'm well aware. I would therefore never commit to working any kind of field that forced me to be around children for prolonged periods of time. Staying in ones lane in life can save both you and others a world of unnecessary pain.

As humans we are the only animals who do not pay attention to our instincts, alarms went off in my head, I listened. The law is very complex indeed. Each case is unique by the law. I have seen/read cases of the exact same nature, each one having different sentences passed down on time served......no consistency across the board, very confusing imo.

One time I accidentally pinched a little girl with her nighty zipper and I felt like the worst person in the world. I made sure her mom knew why she had a little red mark on her chest. I felt so awful about it. Makes me sick there are People out there that get pleasure from this.
I did daycare the summer of last year and taught preschool last school year and any time a kid would trip, or get hurt at all, I hated it. I made sure to take care of them the best I could and I didn’t even expect to do daycare. My mom was going to do it, but she broke her ankle and had three surgeries on it, so I had to do her job and luckily, the kids got to the point where they didn’t want to leave because they liked being with us so much. But we did go to a trampoline place before school started and one of the girls broke her leg on accident and I cried the whole night after that.

Per a news article, Sexton had a significant history of abusing children.
The state showed that Sexton bent one child’s fingers back until the point of fracture, pinched children until they bled, strangled a child until he or she turned blue and broke children’s bones.
On one occasion, Sexton dropped a 13-month-old child about four feet to the ground and then fell on top of the baby, landing with her knee on the child’s torso.
That child suffered skull fractures, epidural and subdural hematoma, and a lacerated liver.
After Sexton’s behavior was reported to police, multiple parents came forward to report injuries that occurred while their children were in Sexton’s care.
“Sexton admitted that she harms other people’s children, and that she takes pleasure from soothing the children after she injures them. When asked how many children she had harmed during her lifetime, Sexton answered, ‘too many to count,’”
Disgusting! She needs more time. Let someone drop her, pinch her, bend her fingers back and land on her body with their knee on her liver. Someone over 300lbs.

Nana H There's a strong possibility of that happening while she's in prison. Most prison inmates have children and everyone knows they don't take kindly to people who hurt kids. She'll get hers in there I'm sure.👍

Just think about how long 15 years is, you Americans are too used to extreme sentences.
Linus Nilsson She didn't massacre a village she abused someone. 15 years is plenty. The baby won't remember anything that happened and there are probably not any long term complications.
If this was my child I would want her to get 50 years, but realistically speaking there's a big chance of rehabilitation.
