Digging the fuck out of this band. I found them because one of my favorite modern bands, All Them Witches, announced they were playing with them and I'd not heard of L.A. Witch before. Love love love and glad to have found them!

This band is tight live. That drummer knows how to groove with those occasional ghost notes. Also refreshing to see an indie band where the bassist doesn’t just follow the guitarist note for note. She can play for sure
I saw them last year and was blown away. I love Sade's guitar solo on Baby in Blue Jeans but the alround sound is great! Can't wait to see them again very soon
I just saw these ladies live at DesertFest in Berlin and I really do believe them to be the real deal. It's been 5yrs since this performance came out and they've really added a lot to their act from what is going on here. Really looking forward to seeing them again in a few days!
@@adamfrith_ I googled "bands that sound like the Wytches" and it came up with LA Witch. I was sceptical and thought it was just because of the band names. Pleasantly surprised lol.
Just saw them Headline at Twisted at the Pike in Long beach Ca. One of the most Mesmerizing & phenomenal live preferences I'll never will never forget..
Seen these guys at Newcastle in UK they were excellent. They were that good was going to travel to London next morning - they were playing the next night at the Moth Club there - but it was sold out. If you like their music, get to see them they are even better live!
Came across this band , one of the good points of spotify I may add . Really like Kill My Baby Tonight. This set kills me, its brilliant. Love to hear more please ; ) All the best from the UK.
They're great! kind of a retro sound, like a California psychedelic blues. You have to be hearing some "Big Brother and the Holding Company" and some "Quick Silver", but with a Seattle twang.
Death Valley Girls, L.A. Witch, La Luz, and Starcrawler are thee coolest female led bands on the planet at present. Dum Dum Girls too that is if Dee Dee hasn't killed them off. Also, I loooove that this gay dude digs cool music and not tired cliche, gay, disco, pop, house stuff.
I love this band too. Is it me or would anybody else like the vocal to be a little less filtered(reverb or whatever) and raw. She might be self-conscious or something but I think her natural vocal suits the style perfectly.
No, especially the singer girl (I don't know her name) seems nervous (I'm @4min mark). Looks cute but worries me that they must've been pushed them to do things faster than needed to.
There's a song by Mac Demarco called Baby's Wearing Blue Jeans. Maybe that's it. I just read your message again and you said "sounds so familiar" so i have no idea now. Sorry haha.
TheWarrrenator ...low standards much? The absence of any musicial talent or anything with the word music in it is excruciatingly obvious. Not to mention, EVERY song they play has been done and sooo much better. In 2017 unoriginal song writing and terible musical ability, along with gay lyrics = awesome and amazing......fuck me
@@jpmorphhilson Are you commenting on Mazzy Star or LA Witch? Maybe the chemtrails are getting to you??? I don't really see the connection with LA Witch and Mazzy Star anyway.
BillyPilgrim i just googled it !! Try it you wiukdnt have had to wait to long for me to correct you then - just click on internet explorer in tyoe your question in and its pretty much all you need to do chief
christ sakes, the song at 14.00 is just sympathy for the devil.!! I really hate hate hate to say this, but is it just possible that the terribly sloppy timing, simplistic and incredibly unoriginal songwriting, unimaginative and plodding instrumental parts, is all tolerated or even celebrated because they're young women? This is not something I want to say, it really isn't, but I have to say it. I just thought this was really lazy and uninspired, like something you'd knock up in an afternoon, sorry.
What about The Brian Jonestown Massacre? Same deal. Kinda sloppy. Kinda repetitive. Yet theyre considered to be one of the greatest shoegaze/60s revivalist bands there ever was and theyre all guys. The Melvins. Same deal. Kinda sloppy. Sometimes theyre very repetitive. And yet, theyve influenced countless bands and theyre all guys. I dont think its cause theyre women. I think some people prefer music with a repetitive or sloppy edge because, at the end of the day, imperfections are what make us perfect.
@@MicheallikeMJ Sorry man, I don't like hating on things but I take issue with you calling Melvins "kinda sloppy". Maybe we have a different definition of the word. To me, playing sloppy means full of mistakes. Melvins shows have droney repetition, improv and plenty of dissonance but they are not sloppy. In this performance LA Witch are playing sloppy - the tempo is all over the place. But hopefully it was just a bad day or something
@@davidrahman897 I was mainly refering to Buzzos guitar playing. Maybe sloppy wasnt the right word? Looking back, this performance isnt that great, but this person was also refering to the songs in general being boring and I just dont see that.
I don't understand how a band with music so unoriginal and bland is able to get exposure like this unless they have connections. It shouldn't be about connections though.
Yes, they're not amazing musicians if you listen to Iron Maiden or something like that BUT music isn't about technicality. It's about the song. You can listen to a band and all of the musicians can be amazing (take for example Dream Theater), but the songs are just huge wanky self indulgent piles of dogshit. The difference between musicians and listeners is that music listeners listen to the song as a whole, regardless of the individual musicianship of each band member. You're a guitarist. You judge all music by the quality of the guitar playing. I suppose you'd listen to Velvet Underground too and dismiss them as having "bad songs" because they don't do fiery epic solos and shit. I used to be like you when I was very young and naive. You'll never get anywhere as a musician, if you judge everything upon the level of musicianship. Good musicianship far from equals good songs.
+Bill McGowan word..this should be a public service announcement to musicians..so many just don't get it..which isn't all that surprising..not the sharpest crayons in the box

More like Opal and Black Angels.
No hendrix and nirvana influenced.. Wtf?

After listening few of their songs I have to agree with you. She does sound like Hope just more blues a bit more up tempo than Mazzy Star.

One of the best things to come out of LA in years
Heard "Kill my baby tonight" on the NJ radio station WMFU and my ears perked up! Total 60's sound with a 2000's upgrade. Lovin it!

Found these gals in a Guitar World magazine from a year or so ago, so glad I did! Keep rockin’ it and come back to Seattle soon.
