Do it!! I'm in the process of rebuilding mine for the third time. Second time was minor and now its a complete rebuild from scratch. Full Victron system going in which is my biggest upgrade. Much more work involved. Good luck 👍

All good points for wanting to start again, I'm in the same position due to buying a crap converted crafter. Everything looked OK but behind the scenes it was the work show of bodging up I have ever seen. Be carefull folks when you buy a diyers van. Great video mate get it how you want it....no matter what.

Yes I agree, the build has to be right and fit what you want or need it to be. No sense doing loads of work if your not 100% happy with it. Part of the reason I started using mine mid build, so I could see what did and didn't work
We have the same U-shape seating and have tried a few different methods for dropping the table to make the bed. We now have an Isle technik hydraulic table leg and it's great. Shower tray I must have struck lucky having our drain at the lower end of the tray Flooring joint totally agree We installed a domestic tap after dealing with the plastic one in the t4 Table size, we've gone through 3 sizes

Welp, you just messed up my plans for the floor. I wanted a single sheet of wall-to-wall vinyl and was determined to have it. Just last night I talked myself into lightning up and going for a bit of something pretty just where it's visible. Now I'm back to a single sheet of vinyl. I don't want to deal with a water nightmare. I just don't. It'll be more expensive, but that's what has to happen.
Some good tips, I think if annoying you that much then yeah do it makes sense definitely will just pick away at you each time seeing the issues. Totally updating our caravan at the moment and will be for a while it’s like opening a can of worms flooring wise think going for sure rubber coin matting, I like that industry style sort of look and be easy to clean dogs mud off. There are certainly a lot of naff products made though with the caravan or van stuff, nice one though 👍🏼 Sam
Be careful with that rubber coin stuff. I feel it can scratch quite easy. The altro is soooooo hard wearing. More designs out there than people think too
If you weren't a UA-camr (and the refit makes for great content) I would say you were crazy to go to all that trouble for such small niggles. But, as you are a UA-camr, it'll make for great content! Which hopefully as an added bonus, brings in revenue for you and makes all the extra work less of a "chore" 😊 Great content fella 👍

Of all the top 5, the carpet has to be no1. Its like shopping in ALDI! You know the quality might be crap but you go anyway because it's cheap but we hope not to be seen and are embarrassed when we are spotted. That is stretch carpet, a quick easy cheap crap fix that you hope nobody will notice. Looking forward to seeing the changes.

Think your totally right to do it. It's those little niggles that make you doubt stuff! Get sorted and once done you can relax with a cold beer on your smaller table! 😉
I think you would be better selling that van and starting again doing it the way you want. You will get a fortune for it which will set you in good stead for a new one. I just think once you make those changes you will still not be entirely happy, if your anything like me then you can’t live with any little niggles, especially now that you know and have experienced how a professional van is built. Your sprinter etc.
@@urbanarkoverland your van, your choice bud, I done the very minimum tart up on mine before sale, I knew the clutch was on its way out, the turbo etc etc, @103k I knew a lot of things were on its way out hence the sale, I just got the body work corrected and renewed high use items likes taps, also had a professional detailing job done on her. spent about £1100 and I bet that added 10k on my resale fee as the van looked mint. Asked for £40k but sold for £35K. currently building my 2020 premium spec sprinter with the proceeds. Not cutting any corners with this build, she’s gonna be beautiful. 👍
@@urbanarkoverland Also remember rule number one…….never let emotions get in the way of business, to a buyer it’s just another van to look at, to you it’s something special, a buyer doesn’t care about all the little things. If your doing it to keep then great, to sell not so great.

You definitely have too much time on your hands lol. I know how you feel though. A niggley thing once you’ve seen it you need to put it right. Shame you have to remove everything to put it how you want it. Personally it leave everything bar the tap.
Yes you are crazy, your existing flooring covers the whole floor so just put new flooring on the bit you can see and if there is a leak it will just be retained on the old floor. Just lift up the new bit of flooring and clean. Never heard anything so ridicules as ripping up all units just to put in a new floor. The new people who buy the van in the future will probably put in new flooring but only on the bit they can see.
