Roy is way too low ngl, but this year has already been great for him so I won't be surprised if he jumps up on the next tier list again
Mewtwo is too low. Shulk is too high.

This list definitely does highlights character results at tournaments more than the personal mechanics of each character e.g. frame data, matchups, recovery etc., but I do think it is like 70% correct with ranking the character mechanics, so I do think it is an overall good list despite what it mainly highlights.
Mewtwo is maddeningly underoptimized.
The thing holding Mewtwo back though is not necessarily his moves, but more the character's personal issues such as his weight/tail hurt box making him easy to kill/combo if you miss with his attacks.
Mewtwos move set is S tier. Its just he’s big and light the two worst things you can be

Sonic as number 2 is still nutty to me. Sonix is making him look pretty good, but he is hardly ever taking home any majors.

I wish the official tier list relied less on how many results a character is getting and focused more on a characters potential. Like personaly, I think Pac-Man is better than Sora but doesn’t have the results to show it.

Basically no one has had results with Pika aside from Esam in the early days and ShinyMark recently but he basically doesn't compete offline so it doesn't count. He regularly top 8s online tourneys tho.
Also Japan has the most weight on this official tier list and there has never been a JP Pika who was remotely a threat.

The horrid recovery, he’s floaty and Zero to death can be hard to learn, this is coming from a person who somewhat plays Luigi, his high jumps, the FOURTH highest in the game, can screw your zero to death if you don’t know what your doing, and the FACT that you have to learn how to Zero to death, Lights, Semi Heavies, and Heavies. Luigi requires a lot work. Yeah that’s the point so he’s in B, it’s not that bad.
@@Supersonic37838something being a bottleneck to learn shouldn’t affect where someone is placed on the tier list, because the point of the tier list is a characters potential and how good they’ll be if played optimally.

@@benross9174 I mean Snake is top tier for sure, but results are not really a good representation of a character strength. Snake has counterplay that if you think about it, veteran players use effectively and not so much the newer players (usually).

Even I admit, Daisy is the High to Top Tier-Gatekeeper there so to speak. Rosie in B+ would also be fitting!

People finally not riding the pacman bandwagon. Character is good but has very tough matches
Peach's placement is fine. She's either top 10 or top 15 so Idrc
Pacman is one of those characters that still has 80% of his options unexplored tho. If any character is getting theorycrafted, with a good amount of results that isn't just Tea being godlike, then it ought to be someone like Pacman. It's not like Shulk or Inkling where somehow there are still believers but there's nothing to point to after 5 years.
Same can be said for megaman, He can cook anyone in B tier
Diddy can’t kill? Not true when u have banana into smash attack being a confirm on every character. Then there is d/titlt confirms and side b at high percent.
Peach has the most potential in the game, she’s definitely worthy of top 10. However, I don’t think we’ll ever get a peach/daisy player who plays them to their max potential.
