Before you guys talk like that, you need to understand the structure of the league (MLS). It's a hard cap league which means that teams have a limited amount of cash they can spend on players. So, to build a strong team around Messi is very difficult. Too many rules that hinder a team like Inter Miami to bring great players to play alongside Messi. The MLS just softened a few rules that will give teams more freedom to bring more players. I'm sure Inter Miami will take full advantage of that.
i don't understand why many people still expect Messi to carry a team or achieve more great things, he's 36 years old, he won every major trophies in football, even a olympics gold medal, let The GOAT rest, while getting paid a lot of money, he deserves it.

Messi accomplished everything and I am glad that he is playing it easy before he retires. Tbh, it was very well worth seeing him play at the Arrowhead stadium play against Sporting KC and they were amazing.
This move of signing Messi is such a clever biz move for Inter Miami, Apple and MLS. The impact is far reaching . Not just money wise, but also to whole football scene in the USA (where football is played wrongly. )
On the cusp of being over-commercialized and intolerable (to me personally). But I still love to watch Messi play for the love of sport and it's wonderful!
Personally, i think, the U.S will one day have the best football league in the world. The american attitude to be highly optimistic, hard working and throw large amount of resources on whatevere is the task is exactly what football needs.

However, I have changed and dislike excessive commercialism of sports in the US, in general. With the good comes the bad.

MLS is getting more and more popular and you do see more young kids in America making 'soccer' their prefered choice. However, it's going to take a long time to become the no.1 sport in the USA and be able to compete on the same level as the top European leagues. I can see soccer in the USA reach it's peak in a few years time and then, due to the slow growth, rapidly decline in popularity like it always does.
