Tal cual...creo que no tienen ni idea del prime de Messi...yo lo vi durante toda su carrera y por alla por el 2012 cuando él er imparable, para mi lo unico mas importante era llegar a casa y disfrutar de verlo hacer magia en el campo de juego
@@ErikPT If you are insinuating that Beckham was in his prime while playing in the MLS, you are gravely mistaken. Players only move from Europe to the MLS when they pass their prime. The speed of the game in the MLS is slow, which allows players like Messi and Beckham to display their superior skill and expertise without the physical endurance needed to play in a Top EU league. Next time a Top EU team visits the MLS for a pre-season friendly go and watch a game and you'll see the difference in speed of handling the ball (running, passing, ect.) and then remember it's only pre-season and things will speed up when the season truly starts at home. I thought my local team was OK, until I saw them in a practice match against Barcelona and Arsenal. And my league is ranked fifth or sixth in Europe. The MLS would not even be considered in the EU Top 10. Not saying things cannot improve, but that is the current reality. The MLS is considered a retirement league, just like China and Saudi Arabia. You do offer a good financial package which makes these moves happen. Sorry if I burst your bubble.
as indonesian i also know lebron. but its pale comparison to messi. just bring both to any country outside US. no disrespect, but most ppl will think that lebron is messis bodyguard. lol let alone hockey. i know what hockey is from my childhood movie MVP. and thats it.
I live in the USA, and I know Brady and also Grewzky, but what the media in the USA doesn't understand is the word WORLD, they refer to their team in every sport as champions of the world, The World? is only the US teams playing in the league! Messi is the champion of the World, not of the USA, of the World, do you understand the difference? Messi is recognized in the entire world, Brady, mostly only in America, that is a huge difference!
An example of the meaning of "world" in USA: I was listening to the radio news driving my car. They were reading local news, and then they announced World news.. .. they start reading news from other states of the USA 😁
Let's put things in perspective: Super Bowl global viewership: 62.5 million. World Cup Final global viewership: 1.5 billion. Hockey, baseball, NFL... Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky... insane athletes in amazing sports but very small compared to soccer. ANY other sport is a small sport compared to soccer.
Jordan, Le Bron James and the Williams sisters are super popular in the world, but they are not on the level of Messi and Ronaldo.. These are the two most popular athletes in the world by a mile.
Messi does NOT make you think you are watching something unrepeatable MESSI IS ONE ON A LIFETIME PLAYER YOU ARE WATCHING A LIFETIME EVENT EVERY TIME YOU SEE HIM PLAY.
@@lavoznailim7823 I have been following him all his career. 2 days ago, had the opportunity to watch him play live with his beloved Argentina Squad. My entire life i watched Messi. Messi is in twilight of his prime. In his prime, Messi was for the lack of better words a monster. You can't understand his greatness by watching highlights.
But thank God, we still have the videos of the greatest games Messi played when he was about 20 years old...! Watch them and you won't believe your eyes.
Words can't describe what a monster Messi was in his prime. I'm from Argentina, and we were lucky that Messi was born in our land and that we never had to face him in his prime... Except one time. On 2015, River Plate won the Copa Libertadores. Under Marcelo Gallardo, River Plate became a powerhouse here in South America and we had to face FC Barcelona on the FIFA Club World Final, we knew that we would lose. But the thing that shocked me was Lionel Messi... Man, at that moment I understood how SCARY it was to face him, and the worst thing is that Messi was playing really relaxed. With this i'm not saying that River Plate could have won against FC Barcelona if Lionel Messi wasn't on the field. Lionel Messi is a fan of Newells Old Boys, but he always had a soft spot for River Plate, his football idol was Pablo Aimar a River Plate player. Still, we couldn't do anything against him, it was like we were fighting against a God. In my opinion, Lionel Messi on his prime was the greatest player on football history. My dad saw Diego Maradona, I was born on the 2000s and I remember what my dad told me about Diego, he told me he was the greatest player that he ever seen, everyone in Argentina wanted to be like Diego... And then Messi appeared. My dad couldn't believe the things that Messi did on the field, I remember that he would froze in disbelief in front of the TV when he saw Messi playing on Barcelona or you would hear the next things: "No, it can't be", "No no! Oh my God", "No, this can't be real", "Who is this kid!?"... "He is better than Diego" It will be a sad day when Lionel Messi retires, but I hope that a new wonder kid will take his place. In Argentina, when Alfredo Di Stefano retired we tought that we'll never see a better player than him... And then Diego Maradona appeared. When Diego Maradona retired, our people were crushed and no one believed that a better player than Diego could exist... And then Lionel Messi appeared.
Thank you for your story! I hope another generational talent appears from your country again! I wanna enjoy a true genius, the likes only found in south American countries! One love brother❤@@carlblack8574
I think Hayes doesn't have a single clue what Messi represents... he is beyond celebrity/star status, it is something historical... the comparison with Wayne Gretzky is borderline disrespectful to Messi
To be fair to Hayes, he is talking about in a specific place (downtown Toronto) where hockey is king. I do think he is wrong though and Messi would get the bigger reaction walking around town. It might be about equal except for 2 things. Recency (Gretzky hasn't played for 25 years) and the fact that it wouldn't be all that surreal for Gretzky to be in Toronto. I don't think Messi has ever been in Toronto so far, Gretzky used to own a restaurant in downtown Toronto.
@@kentmartin9289 oh yeah, maybe in that one specific town, but I thought he was talking about the US in general... in the US Messi is WAY more famous than Gretzky (not even mentioning worldwide)

@@kyoden1928 I'm a huge soccer fan (I live in Canada), so I know how popular Messi is. I was just explaining what Bryan Hayes was saying. He knows Messi is more popular than Brady by a LOT worldwide as well. He was just saying he thinks Brady is more popular than Messi in USA, and Gretzky is more popular than Messi in Canada. I think it's close enough that it's not clear who is more recognizable in those 2 countries. These are countries where, for example, in the USA 123 million people watched the last Super Bowl, and about 17 million watched the World Cup final. In Canada nearly half the country (16.6 million) watched their last gold medal hockey game in the Olympics (2010), and about 7.7 million tuned in for the World Cup final in 2022. Which is to say, although soccer is growing in popularity in USA and Canada, it is still behind their number 1 sports in terms of viewership (different story in number of players participating).
I am a European and I have never watched American Football however, USA is ignorant to anything that is not their culture. Has anybody ever thought how stressing it must be to be so well-known around the globe, when you just can't walk at ease among a crowd without being recognized and harassed by fans ? Especially for a shy guy like Messi, who has always been reluctant to spotlights and prefers to stay away from crowds and rather remain at home with his family. Seems like his Grandma realized what was in his mind and supported it , he obviously wanted to be a professional player when he was just 5yo , only his grandma took him seriously and the result was a guy that has dedicated his life to football, he does things that obviously come from imagining it first
This guy is not the result of taking time out to be good at something. That's Ronaldo for you. Messi is a natural born talent, one of a kind, one of those almost extra-terrestrial beings that is born with an unmatched gift. Of course he works hard and is an example as athlete and as a person. But he is gifted, the way Einstein was gifted, Mozart, etc (each in their fields obviously). He is well above average in a category of his own. This is something you're born with.
You hear a lot of people who talk about players who come around "once in a generation." That's not Messi. Athletes like him come around once, ever, and then that's it.
The whole Argentine team is glorious. You got a GK with 5 times the global average winrate in penalties, a mad cat that pulls situations from thin air, a noodle that runs for a hundred minutes like he's 22 on the verge of retiring, a defensive team that keeps irons out of the fire even againt players a head taller, and so on. It's truly magical to see.
He only needs a ball and a goal to put it in, he doesn't care if anyone is watching, he doesn't care if it's the World Cup Final or a random pick-up game with his friends, he just wants to play ball

Of course, I really regret it, why did I realize how great Messi is now. I often watch Messi videos now, Oh my God, how great he has been since he was young. Honestly, I didn't understand football before, and I admired CR7, but after seeing Madrid now and Barcelona now, we just realized how terrible Barcelona's game was when Messi was there, like Jose Mourinho said: "I have to deploy almost all Madrid players, but Messi always manages to conquer us, how terrible he is". After the 2022 World Cup, I have to admit that Messi is indeed the God of football. He is a genius, how can one player be the best dribbler, the best playmaker, the best vision, almost the best free kick, almost the top scorer, the most man of the match, the most range, the most G/A, the most goal contributions, and other greatness that cannot be mentioned because of the many, it is clear that when he plays football he is not human. Small body, but his muscle strength is extraordinary, extraordinary balance. How can a player be so consistent for almost 2 decades? Of course this is a miracle from God. Remember this: Football today will no longer be as exciting as the days when CR7 and Messi were actively playing, maybe there will be many players who will approach the greatness of CR7, but no one will be able to approach Messi's level let alone match it. Messi is Albert Einstein with his genius, Messi is Mozart with the beauty of his playing art that never uses useless movements, simple but extraordinary, Messi is Job and David who are always humble so that God always exalts him.

My dad couldn't believe the things that Messi did on the field, I remember that he would froze in disbelief in front of the TV when he saw Messi playing on Barcelona or you would hear the next things:
"No, it can't be", "No no! Oh my God", "No, this can't be real", "Who is this kid!?"... "He is better than Diego"
It will be a sad day when Lionel Messi retires, but I hope that a new wonder kid will take his place.

Which is to say, although soccer is growing in popularity in USA and Canada, it is still behind their number 1 sports in terms of viewership (different story in number of players participating).

i don't even know how Gretzky looks. Maybe in America and Canada he's right, i doubt it but maybe, but definitely not in any other part of the world.
I don't know him, and Geographically I live close to the USA.
Same with Tom Brady....Rest off the world "Tom, who?..."
They did specifically say in a US market.
So great so humble so beautiful.
What he’s actually doing for football in general by bringing his magic to USA is going to grow the game to the point that soon it’ll be the biggest sport in North America.
Football owes this genius so much, never be the same when he’s gone.
Only Diego Maradona and Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods , Michael Jordan , Roger Federer is in the same Genius category
who is Gretzky?
5:36 Messi’s popularity vs Wayne Gretzky’s?? Evidently Messi!!! Only in the Canadian prairies Gretzky’s popularity may be larger.
Just try to make the same question in Milan, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Cairo, Mexico, São Paulo, Tokyo, Beijing or Qatar.
but that isn’t the question
Yeah the answer to the question is that America is a nation of immigrants... You might be disconnected from your family's roots, but most Americans are not... Those roots reside outside of America... What the rest of the planet calls the real world. And the rest of the real world, including most people in metropoli like Boston and New York know that Messi is a known GOAT on a planetary scale. You're the insecure, close-minded voice of a dying ego-centric ignorant American culture. The collective noise of you and the ever diminishing members of your shrinking bubble-world singing USA! USA! USA! every time one of you manages to take a piss without destroying the bathroom or soaking your pants is getting quieter and quieter every day.
As an European I do hope he is the catalyst that will bring soccer to the limelight in the US.
How you are european and you call it soccer? But outside this i have to say US football improved in this 3 years, still need work but they are on the right path
@@ciaoatutti307 I don't call it soccer, I call it football. But I'm adressing a nation that uses that term therefore I use their term to avoid misscomunication.
There is a plethora of terms and expressions that mean very different things in all of the different english speaking countries, for some reason only this one kicks that much fuss. In all honesty I don't care which term the US uses and also I'm not from a native english speaking country.
He already did. Look at the ticket for MLS
@@ciaoatutti307the question would be, are you an English native speaking person?
@@rz7909 the answer is,who gives a f..about that,Europe has lots of languages.
Lucky are those who watched live Messi playing.A fan who simply admire Messi from 🇧🇹
I am even luckier. I saw Pelé, the guy who became world cup champion at 17 play.
The one and only football player who achieved everything... 🎉🎉🎉 Leo is the best.. salute!! 👏👏👏
❤️❤️
The greatness of Messi is the fact that he is just a regular man! No physical advantages just pure artistry! Peace!
He must be a very special soul in order to be blessed by God with a unique (and I mean UNIQUE) talent to mesmerize the whole planet with his skills to play football to the point of seriously being considered as an Alien, an ET from another Galaxy who is among us disguised as an earthling.
@@orlandonavarro5674 I adore your comment ❤. So true! He is a very special soul. God was like: "ok, I will make you the greatest soccer player ever". Enjoy!
No body thoughts that Lionel would sign that contract and raise american soccer like that!!. So unbelievable but he does great job there. Wish all the best for him and family!
Inspiration for the young🔥
Most Americans don't realize, people from four corners of the world are coming to Miami to watch Messi. Number one sport in the world with no equal and Messi has been chosen to be the top player (this one is some what arguable but this is not the place guys) of the top sport Marketing genius from the club management.
what us- americans dont understand round 1 billion people follow hockey (ice) and american football, round 2 billion people follow basketball and nearly 6 billoion people around the globe follow football
Messi the goat 🐐
They know Messi even on other planets, such is his transcendence, and you have had the bad luck to see him when he is in his last years, if you had seen him at 24 years old your head would be exploding, I have seen Maradona, Zidane Ronaldo and no one comes close to Messi, he is a divine gift from the world of football, what he has done and continues to do transcends sports
Messi is Football!!!!
Beckham has ten million followers in China alone. The US has very few global stars, with the exception of Tiger Woods. A lot of American sports stars can walk around the streets in Europe and not even be recognized. Even Brady or Gretzky may not be recognized.
Yeap...put Messi on the streets of almost any country and you will have traffic chaos and need more body guards than the president of that country.😅
Messi is my dream, he is my everything, he made me believe that there is hope in life
Messi is the best in the history of football. No one no one can get close to him at all. I love Messi.
Never ever...even Maradona was better...and Ronaldinho Gaucho, Pelè, Zidane, Beckenbauer, Eusebio, G. Best, Zico....
No wonder, from the many who used to be Messi haters, now they are his admirers, the answer is only 1, because they know how great Messi is who is unstoppable without limits. Note that, because I am one of them❗
yesss
Messi is the reason USA sported change forever now usa people loved to watch football because of him 🐐🙌 goat effected real
I don't think so.
I had never heard of LeBron James until the reporter mentioned LeBron James. I had no idea who he was. But I knew all about Messi . Even we know him. He's known all over the world. I think Messi is a one-of-a-kind athlete, and I think it’s awesome that I’m getting to see him play in the U.S. Messi Messi Messi
Yet you know how to spell his name exactly the way he spells it but capitalizing the "B" in the middle of his name. yea ok pal keep lying.
@@nueat6bruh it's out correct coz I've never once typed LeBrons name on my phone(it's relatively new only had it for about a year) until a few minutes ago when I was typing he's name in on another comment but maybe your assumption is correct but his is my experience with the LeBron name
Messi, you’re my favorite soccer player on my seventh first birthday. I am going to have you as my birthday. I hope you have a great game.

Argentinian here. Americans from the US are used to calling their country and everything that comes with it, including sports, the best of the world. They are wrong. It's really sad they missed out so much on Messi and fútbol
Only if they would have seen Messi in his prime. Dear God !

The next step is to stop calling it "soccer".
The American still don't know who he is.. You guys don't know how crazy the fans are in Europe, Asia and all around the world for Messi..

One single thing at the end of this video that is 100% true, Messi would still do what he does even if the football stadium was empty... He loves to play soccer and one can not deny his great gift! And on top of it all, he is one of the most humble individuals I have ever known... He said he owes his gift to God! That's amazing!
It’s time already for the “king of all sports” the FOOTBALL (plaid by foot) aka “soccer “ to break it into the United States thanks to LIONEL MESSI and his teammates !!! Congratulations !!!
Dude, it's fine to call it soccer. The British used to call it soccer too.
Soccer will never become anything until you call it Football!
American football is just 2 coaches playing a board game.
Football is a real sport. If the US keeps buying aged out hyperstars like Messi, then over a couple of generations football will dominate the US.
Kids can play football, they can’t play american football easily. Playing football is cheaper, easier and requires less space. And since nobody cares about american football other than americans, it is only a matter of a greedy american who wants to get super rich and football will dominate america.
Yes, why did American's use the word football for their sport. Theirs should be called 'handball'. No shame in it. You use your hand to throw and carry the ball...therefore 'handball'. World football uses the feet to carry and shoot the ball...therefore 'Football'...a five year old could see this.

"He is just a normal guy, but with an incredible talent", Beckams' well description for the legend Leo.

And it’s crazy Miami got Messi at age 35 imagine Messi at age 25 lol
Americans still think Basketball, America Football and baseball are the greatest and most popular sports of all time.😂😂
They have a lot of money, they can star inteoducing football education and playing in their schools more knowledge and to make new talents. And they can be big on that sport.
Messi is the idol of children under 12 in USA and all over the world, so in 10 or 15 years, Football (the real) is gonna be the most popular sport in this country... it's a fact.
I worked as a videographer at a local TV Station during the 1990 World Cup. I asked the Sports Caster Shouldn't we inform a little about the World Cup? His response was "No, Who Cares about Soccer" How time change LOL

Players who play in Europe for most of their career only go to places like the US and the Middle East when they get older and are long past their prime. This will not change very soon. The level in the MLS is very very low. Certainly not on par with any European leagues.
The best players ever in the history of football came from América...the real one América..Messi, Maradona, Pelé, Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Riquelme, Roberto Carlos, Neymar, Luis Suárez, Batistuta, Valderrama and so many more... united states gets the best only in movies.....
I’m so glad I’ve been a Messi fan for over a decade and has witnessed his talent ❤
I know Wayne Gretzky from that Michael Scote quote in The Office, I grew up with Messi posters in my room, my dorm in uni and now my apartment. Tom Brady could walk past most people in the rest of the world and no one would recogonize him, Messi could walk into Gaza/Syria and both sides would make a temporary ceasefire to go and see the man. The only American athletes who even come close to Messi (and Ronaldo) in terms of popularity are Jordan, Ali and LeBron. That's it.
