Prenups are also good for guaranteeing if your business really hits it off 10 years after marriage and you get divorced, she can't steal all your money. I’m not sure you know how prenups work. Typically prenups only cover assets brought into a marriage…so unless your spouse would agree to forgo any wealth accumulated during the marriage (which would be insanely dumb). the only real reasons most people would want a prenup is if you know a large inheritance is coming OR if one of the two parties truly is vastly wealthier than the other going into the marriage. If you only make 45k and have no assets… you probably can’t afford the legal fees to put a real prenup in place.

Well, if it was gifted to you by someone else, it didn't really cost you anything, no $ left your account. If someone bought you a 10k Chanel purse, you didn't spend the money. However, if someone gave you 10k & you bought the purse with that $, you did buy it.
Joe math: *sees money in account* I can afford [insert stupid purchase here]... Working in sticking within budget this year so that I don't do this math anymore.
Omg, that “I bought it with cash so it’s free” is so relatable I might die. I go off of the numbers in my accounts so if it’s not an app I can see it’s already spent in my brain😅
Don’t listen to his advice about prenups. Everyone should have one when they get married. Marriage is a legal contract with no section regarding the dissolution of the contract. It’s the guy who only makes $45k who needs it the most since he won’t be able to afford anything if the state awards his ex alimony/spousal support or crazy high child support. Outline how the relationship will end while you still like each other, if you wait until it’s over, you will lose.
A man who makes 45k can't support a household on that. His wife likely makes the same or more, that's the way it is with couples today. In my state (California) alimony is very rare, assets are split 50/50. If one makes 45k there will be no assets of value.
@@bitviper3430 They can be helpful, they aren't iron clad. I could give examples of many cases that they don't protect 100%, I'm a financial planner but at least they provide a framework. Statistically people who have prenups have a higher rate of divorce than those who don't have one. It could be a variety of factors, often more "traditionally religious" people are less likely to have one, so it could be that their marriages are more grounded in their faith, so less likely to divorce.
Some young women come into a marriage with massive amounts of student loan debt. If so, a prenup would make sense. For example, make her commit to doing all of the baby steps (especially cancelling all credit cards) and paying off all of her student loans before buying an expensive ring, having an expensive wedding, buying a new car, or buying a house. Get out of debt before spending money on things you don't need to impress people you don't love. This approach could easily highlight differences in financial philosophies before you get married.

Keep the George Math coming
girl math is when I buy coffee with a gift card or cash meaning money isn't leaving my bank account because that makes it free.
Well, if it was gifted to you by someone else, it didn't really cost you anything, no $ left your account. If someone bought you a 10k Chanel purse, you didn't spend the money. However, if someone gave you 10k & you bought the purse with that $, you did buy it.
I felt like there was a Boy George reference in there😂
Joe math: *sees money in account* I can afford [insert stupid purchase here]... Working in sticking within budget this year so that I don't do this math anymore.
(Old) boy math is thinking an 8% withdrawal rate in retirement is wise
Why would anyone use apple maps?
My husband is totally on board with girl mathing his wardrobe 😂 cost per wear calculation is his passion
Omg, that “I bought it with cash so it’s free” is so relatable I might die. I go off of the numbers in my accounts so if it’s not an app I can see it’s already spent in my brain😅
George math was phenomenal😂🤣👏
Boy math, I get the power tools then fix stuff round the house to justify the power tools 😂😂.
Yep! Budgeting is the way to go.
5'6" is 92% of the way there if anyone is wondering
Boy math 5'10" is 6'. Girl math is not knowing the difference between a a guy that's 5'10" and 6'.
@@mtngrl5859Doesn’t matter. Prenups are necessary.
You do have nice hair
Why you coming for the Ryan's George?!?!
lol I kinda like the George Roost 😂
Some young women come into a marriage with massive amounts of student loan debt. If so, a prenup would make sense. For example, make her commit to doing all of the baby steps (especially cancelling all credit cards) and paying off all of her student loans before buying an expensive ring, having an expensive wedding, buying a new car, or buying a house. Get out of debt before spending money on things you don't need to impress people you don't love. This approach could easily highlight differences in financial philosophies before you get married.
Me and my girlfriend very much believe in a prenup, but on the other hand we’re both positive on a net worth evaluation which is unusual for our age group. 😎
