Drew, love the videos, I recently picked up a tenkara rod, and now after losing to many bigger fish, my friend talked me into a fly rod and here we are!! I have found your videos truly educational not only fishing but your fishing etiquette gives hope. Colorado needs more fishermen like you
FINALLY got to go out today. Had a great day. Used a yarn indicator for the first time- worked awesome. Tried my new gopro too. I need some more practice with it, but the hat works great - thanks for the tip on that!
I’m just starting to fly fish for trout. I sure wish I was younger and could do what you do but I listen to no one else about trout fishing and camping but You.
I do in some vids. Putting more in as I remember...not trying to keep them.a secret...just get caught up in the fishing. Gear...orvis...10ft. Wt, h3f...and superfine carbon 7.5ft 3wt
@@JP-dz7zu Yep, adding that section in more now. The last video from my latest trip, Day 5 of the Driftless I run it all down at the end of the video! Thanks for the feedback, definitely listening!
Damn good videos you make. Gets me through the winter in Denmark...and we are not so lucky to have the great nature, that you have ...so travle to Norway and Sweden each summer/autmn. Have been very inspired to go after the small rivers and test these - Thank you for sharing your films/travels/fishing. Br Torben - PS what camera are you using ? Gopro ? Have a Merry Christmas
Another great video! Some great takes, beautiful trout and gorgeous water. Great channel ! On a side note...how do you like your Nissan Titan? Safe Travels & Tight Lines!
Drew, when you fish do you leave the camera running then sort through hours of footage, or just turn the camera on when you have a fish plus some B roll stuff?
Yep, I use the quick capture to save battery and run it while I fish. Bring lots of batteries and several micro sd cards to record everything. Can get about 10 days now. The down side is hours of footage to look through when I get home!
In the latest vids either an orvis h3f, 10' 4wt (my favorite nymphing rod...reach and backone to move fish)...it's more of a medium action...definitely slower than my 9'h3d 5wt. The other was orvis superfine carbon, 7.5' 3wt...its got a medium action also...my go to small stream nymphing and dry fly rod.
@@jordancemulini6161 For me it really has more to do with the water more than size of the fish. I like a 7.5ft 3 wt for small streams. Gives me some reach but also not too big to work under the canopy. If you check out my hiking trip into the Weminuche wilderness I fished that 3 wt exclusively and it was perfect for what your talking about. But i wouldn't have taken it to the incredible stream I fished in wyoming...it didn't have the backbone to move fish from the current or reach to high stick...I went with my 10ft 4wt for that small stream. But the fish size were generally the same. So my advice is, decide what kind of flow you have and then pick the rod!

Thanks so much for the good vibes. So much negativity in the world these days, truly appreciate the positivity!
Nice fishing Sir! You always manage to take us to pristine creeks, rivers, and beautiful scenery! Fly fishing at it's finest! Thank you!
Happy to do it!
Drew, I cannot believe you are listening to "by and by" by Caamp..... Absolutely love that song, and it puts a smile on my face.......

You bet. Yea, the gopro takes some time...about 20% of the time, I'm cursing it lol!
Epic scenery as always 🙌
Thx, such a cool place!
Congratulations on the Grand Slam
Thank u much, definitely a nice surprise!

That's nice little plan B. Wyoming is awesome.
Without question!
Great video! Sick take with the fly at your feet!
Those last minute eats are crazy fun!
Great vid! I was just down at that creek a couple weeks ago and caught two nice browns over 16 in on hoppers.
Definitely need more time to explore it!
Hopper fly Fishing is the pinnacle of trout fishing IMO. Love it!
You should show your flies and or set ups!

Seconded. Just a basic rundown of what fly you are using, maybe quick mention of leader and tippet. Nothing too in depth.

Dude your weren’t fishing ........you were catching. Dang that was awesome.
Right on man, definitely had a good time. But I'm pretty sure that was going to happen regardless of the catching!
Busy...lol. Come on down to So cal. and I will take you to busy. We have to go all the way to Wyoming to get the kind of crowds you fish with.
Haha...no doubt. But I'll drive away from the crowds if possible!
The second stream was even more beautiful.
Same stream, just further up. Agreed, wish I started there!
Sweet video! Ill have to come up your way!
That's about 22 hrs away from my way but yep, I agree lol!

Thank u dude! I upgraded to a gopro hero 8 in June! Super happy with it.
I'll be out by sheridan in a couple days. Can't wait.
Wish I was myself!
So beautiful
Appreciate it!
Are you a life force? 👍
Caamp for the win
Haha...forgot to turn it down...but doin my best!
Beautiful. Did you know up your camera keeps going in and out if focus?
Not the camera. Guessing it's your connection. But I'm not an internet expert...just that gopro doesn't focus.
im starting to think Caamp is universal fly fishing music. Number one band i play on my way to the river
Respect, damn straight. I'm the same way 😭😂
Haha...got the right vibe!
My youtube chanel number 1,all the best!
Looks like a great time. What model H3 is that? Any plans to hit the Louisiana marsh in the fall?
Yep, was just about to head down but then those storms. 10' 4wt H3f

I dig it. Owned it since 2010 and never needed much. Seriously, mpg is the only suck. Like 13 mpg.

Wished UA-cam didn't compress the video so much. Can't see the fly on the water!
Same...record and export in the best quality I can but it gets smashed up.
Wonderful as always btw whats your red round device on your left chest ? a whistle ?
Are you talking about his tippet spool at 1:50?
@@MegaDcmp Yes , ok i got it , thank you !
Yep, just my tippet...sorry on a trip with sketch svc!
Yeah, spot on who likes campers and porta potty... I like back country far from the masses
For sure, the best places are far from the crowds!
bro you you should put a bunch of these on DVD and sell them
UA-cam was hard lol...not even sure how to do a dvd lol!

What Ian said. Seems like everyone who posts these videos, they are all the same.
I've put them in when I remember but I will happily answer any question...hope that makes my channel different.
