I've been keeping your videos rolling on the computer next to me while I've been tying next season's flies, waiting out these rainy off-season months here in Washington. Until then, I'm fishing vicariously through you, so please keep up the great work.
Pretty scenery & beautiful water. I like when you incorporate all aspects into your video - travel, camp, gear, and the fishing. And you like the solitude of smaller water. Best!
Getting my gear ready to head into the mountains bright and early tomorrow. I backpack about 8 miles in. Wild Browns , Rainbows and the occasional Brookie. Going to be a great weekend.
Just had to comment on how awesome your videos are. You have an uncanny ability to invite and enthrall your viewers into your surroundings and into your fishing! Always great content Sir! Appreciate all you do! Look forward to more. Take care Drew!
Thanks dude. Your videos are very good. I can’t fly fish for trout here in Illinois. Wish I could go catch a trout someday other than the once a year stocked rainbow and the very rare native brook trout. Here in Illinois, we have some native brook trout in the central part of the state but their range says that they are East in Iowa and north in Wisconsin
Brookies are my favorite to catch I caught them from Minnesota to South Carolina to Maine I guess I'm a Char fishermen. They're really the native Inland fish would love to catch more bull trout. And maybe one day fly fish for lake trout in Northern Canada's big Rivers. That would fill the bucket of my list.....
Great series. I love watching you on the water. You never fight the water. Plus it is classic Drew to watch you stand back at about 25 30 feet throw a darts then a great mend. Fly never seems to move on it’s drift . 😂 You have a lot different water in your videos that makes them pretty cool. Curious to see where you take us in the fall. Didn’t here much “ Hey Bear” this trip.
@@LooknFishy I asked you that cause i recently watched a guy who survived 2 times from a grizzly attack (tell me if you want the link ) and it convinced me that a pepper spray is definitely useless btw the guy was either stupid or too shocked but you don't want to hesitate with a bear evenless with 2 cobs !
Love the videos Drew. You make it look so easy. Not just catching the amazing fish but able to do it on camera in focus. Awesome. Quick question: I want to do a similar trip to Colorado camping in car short hikes to fishing spots. What is a good resource for where to go for good fishing, safe camping and not many people? I don't have a ton of vacation time so aimlessly driving around just won't work. Thanks
Thank you kindly! So I wish there were just one or even a few sources that I could point you to. But honestly, I use everything from social media, friends, maps, blogs, hiking websites and just start reading and taking notes. For example, I spent 4 hours last night reading a guys blog and got 3 stream names that I'll dig more up on tonight. The names weren't listed...one post was about terrible fishing but in it he mentioned a plan B and good fishing on another stream. To get started, pick an area and just look at the blue lines...get names and google them to see if any thing comes up...there are time I might be on the 10th page before I find something of value. It probably helps I don't have another hobby, don't watch TV or anything else really...I like reading about fishing lol!
Recently found your channel and really enjoy your content! Have you ever gone fishing for golden trout or have plans to make a video fishing for them in the future?
I haven't but definitely want to make that trip happen one day and there would absolutley be a video. Lots of ideas on backpacking in trips that I'm researching now!
My usual recommendation is the orvis encounter...still got the one I bought when I got into salt about 8 yrs ago! Just be aware it doesn't come with a warranty. Rod, reel, line and case for ~ 200.
I would start with a 5wt 8’5” or 9’ medium action. Floating line until you get use to casting, then move to wf (weight forward) lines to cast bigger flies and further. Reels buy what you can afford. Pretty good cheap stuff on amazon. Good fishing.
I've fished western Wyoming but not the bighorns. You've got me and a buddy inspired to go there next August. I can't tell from watching this entire series, but were you camping or driving from a cabin or basecamp somewhere?
Love the small mountain streams! If you make it back to WI's driftless, shoot me a message. I have a small cabin above the WF of the Kickapoo. Could show you some great small streams.
@@leetreado3801 pretty often...trying to get 1 week/ month. Have gone to NM, Co for 2 weeks, WY 2 weeks. Just got home from the driftless. Lots of trips to southeast LA for redfish, and other close by states...I stay busy lol!

Great memories of that area when I was stationed in Cheyenne in the mid-90s. Bless you Drew.
That's awesome! Glad to bring those back to the front!
Pocket picking alone on a small stream is 'good Medicine.'
Saved the wyoming series to watch until now, what an amazing adventure! All the videos from there were 10/10 dude.
Haha, thanks man glad u liked the series!
Nice. I love them Brook Trout too.
They really are a good time. Good thing they don't get big as sharks or we'd all be in trouble lol!
Absolute mastery of the bow and arrow cast. Nice work, Drew!
Its fun to use it every so often! Thank u much!

Hey Drew, another great video mate, what a beautiful little stream and amazing scenery, that's my kind of fishing. Keep up the good work, tight lines.

Beautiful creek, gorgeous scenery, and stunning fish! Great find!
Thanks...Definitely was a good time and a total surprise!
Really enjoyed the Wyoming series, was up there last month, couldn’t get enough. Big Horn National Forest.
Haha, that's when I was there...you don't drive a blue chevy silverdo, do you lol!
Drew LooknFishy You might want to remove that comment Drew!
Drew LooknFishy if you saw me , it would have been on a quad, Leigh Creek, Canyon Creek, Powder Creek area, outside of Tensleep
The Green up near Cora was pretty productive back in mid August.
really nice video. Those brook trout were fantastically colored. Love dark ones like that.
Same here, those old souls!
Brooks Bows and wyoming! Thx for sharing these good videos.

Great video collection on Wyoming. Mostly in the Bighorns?
Nope in the southern part too!
Hey man you should consider Pennsylvania for wild trout in small streams if you haven't already!
Definitely have and will be out there...hoping this spring but I don't plan that far lol!
Hope this is not a dumb question. What is the canister looking object on your shoulder. Great videos and enjoy watching them.
Nah, not dumb...actually get asked almost on every vid. Just my tippet ring...normally on my waist pack but attach it to my backpack for hiking trips!
Awesome video, always enjoyable to watch. Makes me jealous that I can’t fish in Wyoming😂
Thx dude...you can't...live across the pond and on a no fly list lol!
Enjoyed what rod you using

Sz 16 foam ant!
Nice. That is some thin lookin water
Was definitely low which is why I chose to chase brookies and not cutts, browns or bows...was hard finding good water the last few days.

I've found some "used once" gear on Craigslist that was definitely worth it at a fraction of retail cost.
I've fished western Wyoming but not the bighorns. You've got me and a buddy inspired to go there next August. I can't tell from watching this entire series, but were you camping or driving from a cabin or basecamp somewhere?
I dispersed camped in my truck at each access. Moved too much to set up a tent...so I curled up in the back seat!
good stuff. in a small stream like this... are you spotting these fish first or just targeting the types of water that look fishy?
I keep an eye out for rises but mostly hitting the likely spots...undercuts, pockets, shade, wood etc.
Drew, what pack are you using.
It's just an old ozarktrail backpack. Nothing special about it, except that it was like $20.
Is that the sound of a Battenkill reel?
The clicking noise is for sure!
Great video! 22 hour drive ... do you live on the East Coast?
Really appreciate it, live in AR!
Is this a public national forest?
Yes sir!
Do you ever use fiberglass rods?
I have a EC featherlite 5wt that's fun to use every now and then!

Really makes me want to send it and head west to fish, hate to say it, but I am craving something other than appalachian brookies.
I definitely get that. Visiting new areas is so cool, almost dig the travel as much as the fishing!
