Great video! Do law firms place a lot of significance on the modules you take? I’m doing a law degree and not sure whether I should take the ‘easier’ (but non-commercial) modules to obtain a higher overall mark or the harder commercial ones which may then lower my final grade. I get that a lot of it depends on your interests when it comes to module choices but some modules at my uni (KCL) have higher average results which may be due to assessment patterns etc.
Hey Gordon! Love your video! As you are an international student, maybe you can relate better. Do you think doing a master’s in the UK is helpful to secure a training contract there if my undergraduate is in Singapore
I think it is helpful in the sense that you can attend more events and show the firms that you take this seriously as you've come all the way to the UK to pursue job opportunities!
Hey Gordan, I'm curious to what journal you posted to. I'm looking for a journal that would publish something if I produce it but they all seem reserved for academics or high scholars.
are you an international student ? I am going to get my GDL and hopefully LPC in Lodon and i'm worried it will be hard for me to secure a training contract.
Hi, you can apply for training contract as soon as you have an undergraduate law degree, in the U.K., big firms will sponsor candidates to take the conversion course and the LPC!
Hey Gordon I'm from India and I've currently written and posted quite a few articles on business laws and general commercial laws on one of the biggest legal blogs of the country , would you think this would help me in my vacation scheme application or training contract application in the future because I aspire to work in London when I graduate .
If you find this video useful, it will mean a lot to me if you leave a like or comment to support what I've been doing!
Amazing video. Thank you for taking the time to outline these insightful tips!
That's a really nice video!
Point 2 cleared one of my doubts!
Glad that it helps!
Thank you so much for theses amazing tips. They video was very informative and will definitely help me to get through my applications.

I published my first article in the European Review of Private Law!
Chung, what are your thoughts on the new SQE system? Would you rather advise students to take it over the training contract route? Thanks!
I believe that the LPC route is safer for now because there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the new SQE!

I am an international student from Hong Kong!
If all else fails, a funny handshake and remind the partner that they're your mum/dad and success is guaranteed!
Can I apply to training contract or vacation scheme with my online MOOC degree to law firm?

I think it will help but you need to articulate the skills you earned from these experiences in your applications!
