- Taking on my first duathlon was eye opening to say the least. A fast start in run 1 left me using my strength of the bike to recovery, but I got slightly carried away (as we do!). The last run was one of the hardest runs I have done, with my heart rate already high and a challenging terrain made for an absolute brutal duathlon at Hadleigh bike park. But it was fun in a strange kind of way...

I use to race multisport events including off road (riding off road with triathletes made me feel like a handling god when vs mtb'ers I feel like a dunce). Duathlons are physically tougher with the extra load on the legs.
I almost cried with happiness for you, after all your dedication , getting to be top dog , great vid, super congrats!

Champion! Congrats. I live round the corner to Hadleigh Park. The 5k run including the mount everest finish is the Parkrun course...... which is why I nornally drive straight past it and do the one on the flat seafront at Southend🤣

I couldn’t believe how many I managed to squeeze in and nope after binning the trees Sarah had me cleaning the car straight away 😅😂
As a regular Duathlon racer I was excited to know you were having a go at your first one... I recognised Dave (the guy you chatted to before the start) and Jon (the winner of the tri) ... You smashed it 😁👏👏👍 great effort 🥐🥐👌 it's good fun and harder than a triathlon 😉👍
I surprisingly really enjoyed it a may have to have another go soon 👀 but I’m not sure it’s harder than triathlon… I’m a terrible swimmer 😂
@@GiorgioCoppolaCycling it's harder physically... Not saying swimming isn't physically demanding but running has a greater impact on the body so run, bike, run is harder on your legs. I'm not a great swimmer and I don't really enjoy it enough to want to do it in a race 🤣👍
