Vocal Coach Reacts to ANGELINA JORDAN Bohemian Rhapsody is a reaction video. It's my first time reacting to an incredibly talented singer, Angelina Jordan. She made me cry with her voice. There's something very special about her voice , I can feel every note she's singing, it touches my soul. I love the way she's bringing her own flavor into the song and making it sound like a brand new song. Beautiful tone, beautiful runs and riffs, she is singing one of my favorite pentatonic riff and it can actually be used as a vocal warmup exercise. She's incredible. And she's so young but she's so calm standing on that huge stage and singing for the judges. So it's my first time reaction to Angelina Jordan, and I'm in love with her voice and I'm in love with her talent. Oh, my friend, you are in for the ride of your life! I am a former music educator and professional musician (retired after 40+ years) and have been following Angelina since she won Norway's Got Talent in 2014 at age 8. I have never heard any singers like her. She has a way of touching your heart and soul like no one else. You will soon be inundated with other comments here that will give you excellent information about Angelina, her prodigious talent and her huge humanitarian heart. We all know your main purpose is to react to the performers (and you, as a professional, do it extremely well) but, let me just say, the more reactions you do to her, the more you will see your subscriptions, likes, views and comments go through the roof! @@michinawi22able the first rounds was previously recorded. During the knock-out rounds it was sent directly. Both the audience in studio and the wievers at home voted for our favorites during the knock-out rounds. Angelina won the final whit 46 % of the total votes. That's quite a land slide.

Now 15 birthday Jan 10th, won Norway’s got talent at 7. As of 2020 over 132 songs including her own. She is 13. signed with Republic Records last year and they gave her 100% control of everything Angelina she is that good. All cover songs are her own arrangements.

It tells about meeting a young girl without shoes and giving her shoes to her promising to always perform barefoot. She has helped raise millions in benefit concerts.

If you have watched the video to the end you wil have heard Simon saying that he had never heard that version, He was quite correct as Angelina re-arranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelina-fying" a song. You will also have ticed a lady standing up and becoming ver excited immediately Angelina finished singing. This was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette,her sister and then her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager. Heidi Klum hit the Golden Buzzer. So Angelina went straight to the Final, where she performed Elton John's classic "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".¡
My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". Well, it was a seven-year-old child who appeared on the stage. She was small and had wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. My first surprise was how she confidently answered questions put to her by one of the judges. She showed no signs of nerves and when she was asked what song she was going to perform, she declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Then she gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and began her performance. Yeah! The body of the 7-year-old child was still there, but the voice wasn't that of a child, tt was of a 40-50 year old black woman who had been singing for decades. That first moment of surprise has been experienced many times since then.
I have followed her career since I saw that first video on UA-cam and in the years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others: in total over 120 different songs and 82 different performers. She takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. She never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. When you listen to her there is the feeling that you are the object of her attention. She is singing for you alone.
I have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What I will never understand is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing,
Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. Most of her performances are recorded in her home studio, either with a backing track or a single guitar. Most are done in one take. She treats the whole thing as a hobby. As we would have said when I was young. "There is no 'side' to her" She is completely transparent to the world.
Perhaps you would like to go back a few years and work forward. By doing so, you will come to the realisation that she is "unique" and I don't use that word loosely. There is truly no other singer who has her versatility and sheer ability to communicate the emotions of a song to her listeners. I doubt there is another singer who works so hard to ensure that, when she sings the song, it is sung in such a way that her listener becomes enmeshed in the emotions

Thank you for your reaction. At 7 Angelina was breathing music. You can watch in a studio at 6 or on NGT when she was 7 and won when she was 8. Then there is about 140 covers and own songs that she did and she is now 15.
It is always delightful to see the reaction that people have when newly introduced to Angelina. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings while reacting to this performance. By the time she sang on this stage she had been on world tours, in one case performing before tens of thousands. She has sung at many concerts and festivals, typically raising millions of dollars for the poor and our fragile environment. She has sung for some of the most famous artists, the prime minister, the Royal family, Malala, Greta Thunberg, etc. so when she stepped on the stage of AGT, it was “another day at the office” , excited but not anxious.

Here is an introduction to Angelina Jordan for you and your viewers who might not be familiar with her.
Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong.
Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World.
After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year he talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down.
Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan.
Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions.
At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities.
Angelina Jordan has about 140 songs in her repertoire. Late last year she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. She will wow and surprise you all the time. 15 years old today who is an excellent role model for today’s youth and her best is yet to come.

Good job, David. My only criticism is that you credit artists who cover other people’s songs for the song (Whitney Houston didn't write, “I Will Always Love You”, it was Dolly Parten, and “What a Wonderful World”, wasn't written by Louie Armstrong.
@@jeffstumpf9129 I'm aware of the fact that Dolly Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" and was the first to perform it.
Angelina at the very young age listened and fell in love with Whitney Houston's performance of the song and that's why I mentioned her. As for "What a Wonderful World", Louis Armstrong was the original artist who recorded it. The song was written by Bob Thiele and George Weiss specifically for Armstrong. George Weiss said he did that because Armstrong had the ability of bringing different races together.

Welcome to Angelina's world. She is 13 years old in this performance. She is an extraordinary young artist with over 140 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 15 which is her current age. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 and has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance.
Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium, and Seoul South Korea with 40,000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. At the age of 15, she is a seasoned performer with 8 years of recording and performing. Many of her live performances when she was 10, 11, and 12 years old blow away even the original adult performers of the songs she sings. She is definitely worth your time to experience and get to know. She has covered Sinatra, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Queen, Miley Cyrus, Patsy Cline, James Brown, Lana Del Rey, Norma Jones, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, Screamin Jay Hawkins, and many more.

Thank you for your reaction, she’s great, isn’t she? As for stage experience, the largest stage she’s been on (so far) is in Seoul, age 9, for 40,000 people. To see her tiny figure, almost skipping out to the microphone, SO happy singing her set of 3 songs and absolutely slaying it, is just … so calm, so in command of herself … all she wants is to sing and make people happy! And she certainly does that, even if she makes us cry! ❤️👣🎶

Angelina is the personification of the word prodigy. She started singing when she was one and a half years old! There is video of it on UA-cam trying to belt out "I Will Always Love You." Her mother saw her doing it and thought it was so cute that she grabbed a camera and started filming. It took a minute so all she got was the title line, but it's adorable. Her artist bio at Republic Records says she started singing at one and a half and never stopped.
She just gets better with each song she sings, but she's been bringing adults to tears since she was seven. Don't feel bad that she did it to you. You've joined a long list of people she's done that to.

She sings Barefoot because when she was about 6 yrs old Angelina met a poor girl on the street somewhere in the middle east weighing people to make money. The girl replied she would like to be a doctor but I can’t because I have to care for my siblings because my parents are no longer alive. Angelina told her to never give up. Angelina Jordan is our "barefoot angel" with over 130 covers. She performs barefoot because when she was 6 she met another girl who was also only 6 weighting people on the street as she was an orphan . Angelina gave her her shoes as the girl was barefoot and it was very cold. Angelina vowed to perform barefoot till all children have shoes. That was a great reaction I have to contradict you but angelina is never nervous there is a video on YT at a Nora Jones concert in Seoul in front of 40,000 people, she goes on stage and asks if she should sing a song for everyone and then she starts , when she was 11 years old, she doesn't know stage fright, but you'll find that out too. by her fans (called angels by her) she is also called the barefoot queen with the 1000 voices because she can adapt her voice to any song without losing respect for the original.

Ann, I found your reaction very insightful, thank you. Angelina makes me smile every time I hear her, her timing, atypical highlights of certain syllables and genuine commitment to her music touches me deeply (most of the time).
When Angelina (from Oslo) was 6 years old, she met a homeless girl around her age in Iran. (Her grandmother is Iranian artist Mery Zamani.) The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. Not only does Angelina honor the young homeless girl she met by performing barefoot, but she also wrote a book about the experience. It’s called Mellom to jherter (“Between two hearts”), and was published in 2015, when Angelina was only 9 years old. According to her website, Angelina then “vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them.” She keeps that promise to this day, as she says that little girl “is always in my heart.”
