I flipped sports cleats a few years ago and just stopped for no real reason. Last week, I decided to get back into it. The worst part is adding all the listings into Ebay, but I see a worst case of 40% profit and best case of 75%, so I will be happy either way. Really like your videos!

Just a reminder on parcel select there is no included insurance. About every other service includes it so if not much different then I stick with ups ground or priority
Insurance is for chumps. I call USPS and tell them to deliver my package on time and they do

May matter if it's something you paid more for or that's worth more money. Flipping items under $20 I wouldn't worry but if you have to refund or lose your investment and or profit I'd chose insured. But that's just my opinion, I admit I'm new and nervous about extra expenses.
They also have priority stickers that you can stick on a regular box and it turns your regular box into a priority box.
Yep and you don’t need to use them but it’s nice to help USPS be able to sort it

Great video super informative. Can you give an example of when to sell items shipping included or not. Best way to determine it. Thx im a newbie. Just starting to do resale on ebay. Thx for the help.
It’s really up to personal preference. Either way you have to sell the item for the same amount if you want to sell it, the trending price. So you learn to build in the shipping into your price or you charge a fixed amount. But if an item is trending at $40 you either list it at $40 free shipping or $35 plus 5 shipping. You can’t list for $40 plus shipping because it wouldn’t sell with other listings priced lower. So it’s more of a process of learning how much shipping will cost (eBay shipping calc) because either way you kind of have to know what it’s going to cost to build it into your price. Sorry if this didn’t answer, it’s kind of something you just have to learn by doing it.

I have been selling for several years online, I buy pallets but I'm thinking now on buying a truckload and starting officially my business with licenses and reseller permit. I don't know what kind of business structure to put my business as, my wife and me do this part time and we sell online and flea markets. What do you recommend? Thanks
Until you’re doing over six figures there’s no reason for an LLC or anything. You can just run as a sole proprietor under your SSN. That’s what I did until last year

I have a couple of questions that I have not been able to find the answers to. 1. How can I estimate the postage on eBay if I don't know where it will be mailed? I hear it can cost more the further the city is from me. I won't know where to mail it until I sell the product. 2. If someone buys multiple items at once, how do I correct the postage for multiple items? Thanks.
Use the shipping calculator and put into the worst case scenario ZIP Code so it will show the most it’ll cost to ship. And if they buy multiple items, you can easily send it together the two ways to do that or you can merge the orders in your orders and ship them this way or you can just ship them on one of the items and then copy paste the tracking over
When you want to mail a pair of sneakers. You know the weight of the item and the box. But, what do you allow for packing material? Ok, you put the sneakers in the target box and weigh it. What happens when you sell them and your target box is gone? The best video yet on shipping?
Unless your dimensions are crazy big it’s not going to effect the price. With shoes the slight changes in dimensions won’t change the price so estimate it when listing. Weight is all that matters for something of that size
If the costumer paid for the shipping, how can send the product without buy a label????? Always I bought the label and the costumer too so...we bought two labels....
eBay’s not like Poshmark or Mercari. They didn’t “buy a label” they just paid you for shipping. View it as a total cost they pay you and you buy the label either way, whether they pay for shipping to you do free shipping. You collect the total amount they pay and buy the label.

Great video!! I understand that when using a poly (or padded) that if the thickness is more than 3/4 " then I'd be paying for a package price and would need to measure as such. For items under 15 oz and less than the 3/4 height is it cheaper just bcuz it's poly weighs less and is cheaper bcuz you're not paying for a box? Sorry if I'm confusing, I'm confused lol
Your suggestions on calculations based on the farthest destination is really helpful bcuz I never understood how I would figure shipping if I didn't know destination until item was sold.
Bags vs boxes don’t matter, just get the correct weight and dimensions of whatever your package is and you’re fine
Under a pound, it generally ships first class? Would that include items such as clothing? Let’s say for example a polo short sleeve shirt? Would you put that in a plastic bag…aka poly? Yes correct except USPS just merged first class and parcel select into ground advantage so that’s what it’s called now. Same rates though. I’m working on an updated video

No you already paid the postage. It’s a prepaid label so they scan it in and you’re good.

What system do you use to keep track of posted items storage for easy access after sold?
I store everything in tubs with things it’s similar like. I don’t really have a special inventory system, it’s my memory and that works for me.
Depending on whom you ship with, do you have to take the package to that business? I know where my local USPS and UPS is, but parcel (assuming that might be USPS) FedEx, not sure. I can look up a FedEx
Yes has to go to that carrier or you can schedule a pickup but they’ll charge you for those
New to selling and on my listing I’ve selected USPS Priority Mail as a shipping option; can I use any USPS Priority Boxes for this? Some priority boxes have “flat rate” written on them. Is that okay to use for this shipping label as well? Thanks
As stated in the video the only boxes you can use for priority are any of them that say “priority mailing box”. You cannot use the flat rate boxes on anything but that specific flat rate.

Use QR codes from eBay shipping or Buy a thermal label printer as it’s small and super cheap.

Hi Adam - I have a shipping question that not many Ebay video's go over. Can you tell me the correct size boxes to use to ship 1 or 2 Blaster Boxes of Cards? Everyone does Video's on shipping , but I have searched and there's nothing on how to ship boxes of Blaster Sports Cards. If you just need to ship 1 Blaster Sports Card Box or 2 of them, what Size Box would you use? Thanks so much for all of your instructional Video's that you have put together. Honestly when I’m shipping cards I don’t have a specific box size I use, I just use a scrap box and make it work. I like to use some that are slightly bigger and bubble wrap around them. That’s kind how I ship anything though, I never order boxes just use scraps. Sorry this wasn’t super specific

You can get vinyl boxes on Amazon. I’d recommend those
I can't find first class for eBay on their site. I googled it and google and it was said that eBay doesn't use first class anymore because nothing is under 12 ounces. I am, of course, trying to save money and many of my things are 11 ounces, etc.
I ship using first class every single day. If it’s under a pound it can ship first class. Just shipped about 15 things first class one hour ago. Some were even 15oz

How do you decide when listing an item whether or not to offer free shipping? I’ve learned some people estimate shipping by picking a zip code that is the furthest away from them so that if it sells closer they’ll still make a profit. Any help on this? And if you do offer free shipping, you would include some amount in the price correct? Thank you!
If you think about it either way you should have the same total price if you want to have a competitive price and make sales. I personally do free shipping and calculate what it will cost and build that into my price. But if an item is trending at $45 that’s what people are going to pay for it. They’re not going to pay $45 plus $8 shipping. So it’s either $45 free shipping or $37 plus $8 shipping. This is also why I recommend starting out with items under a pound because this will all go first class and ship for between $3-6 so it’s super easy to estimate
Appreciate all the tips! I’m about to order some free USPS poly mailers & boxes. Can I ship with FedEx or UPS using USPS priority shipping materials?? Or should I use the free eBay shipping materials for for them?
Usps materials are meant for usps only. They’re giving them to you for free to use with their service, not ups or fedex
Thank you for this video. I just started selling on eBay this year. Shipping has been the HARDEST thing for me. If you charge for shipping - do you have to ship it the way the buyer selected. I noticed on this video, you did not. Is that because you had free shipping on it?
If you have free shipping you can ship however you want. If you charge for an expedited service like priority then you have to send it priority or another 2-3 day service. If they pay for parcel or first class then you can send it whatever

I have several larger unusual sized original boxes, a collection from a deceased family member, of an item that I will need to put in a shipping box to ship. Being unusual sizes, can shipping boxes be made and successfully used? Have you had any past experiences ad thoughts you can share? No past experience here.
Yes 100%. I Frankenstein boxes out of cardboard all the time. You basically just wrap the product in the cardboard. I do it with shoeboxes frequently

Okay.. so the buyer paid $10 for shipping but as a sellers looks for a cheaper carrier, if I find a $6 dls one. What happens to the other $4 dls ? I can't figure that out.
You keep it. Whether the buyer pays shipping or not on eBay it’s a total price. They pay $40 free shipping, you get $40. They pay $40 plus $8 shipping, you get $48. If you do calculated and they pay more then it costs you keep the difference.
How does the buyer say that they recieved it and how do i send a small item like a card that only needs to have a small letter to fit in?
Buyer doesn’t need to say they received it, it’s not Mercari or Poshmark. And eBay standard envelope

It’s not done without a scale. Purchase a scale for like $20. You always pay for shipping on eBay whether you charge the buyer shipping or not it’s coming out of your account. Think of it as a total cost you collect from the buyer either way.

No you don’t need one. You can print off labels on a normal printer and tape the the package.

Pirate ship is great. It has the same reduced rates as eBay. Parcel select is a cheaper option for items over a pound. And it’s just part of a Pokémon box on my scale 😂

I have a good relationship with my post office so I just walk in the back and drop them off. You can also schedule pickups from them for free and put them on your porch. As for shipping, don’t ever go to the retail stores and pay their rates. They’re 2-3X higher than eBay, pirateship, or Shippo. I ship lots of light stuff under a pound so I send 90% of my items first class which is $3.30-6.30. When you get over a pound is when your rates can get ridiculous. The only reason eBay would hit you with an extra shipping fees is because you entered the incorrect weight or dimensions. If you do so and the carrier catches it, they will up charge you the retail rate. Always put in the correct weight and dimensions and always round up.

Thank you for this video! When I’m shipping shoes in shoe boxes I already own will I have to put them in the poly mailers every time? And what about the priority mail boxes I ordered on USPS; do I have to put those on poly mailers too?
If I do need poly mailers, what size do you recommend for them?
If it’s nice shoes you should put the shoebox in a separate box. It’s not really going to raise the price much because it is already over a pound so it’s already going to go priority most likely and the dimensions arent going to be super big so it’s not going to raise it for that either. Just use a scrap box like you would get in the mail from Amazon. And for the Priority shoeboxes that you get in the mail no you don’t put them in a poly Mailer, the whole point of that is you are able to send that normal priority. Don’t over complicate it on yourself, this is simple stuff. Do it a couple times and it’ll make sense. And my recommended poly mailers are linked in my description.

Sure
So basically when i'm creating my ebay listings, I can just put in an estimated weight and choose first class or parcel select, then I can adjust the dimensions and weight once the item sells and I'm ready to print my label, correct?
Correct. Try to estimate correctly though if you’re using the international program or eBay could upcharge you do you’re way off since they have to ship it from their hub to the customer and the customer paid on your weight and dimensions

I do free shipping on 95% of my items. It depends on what you’re selling though. If you sell heavier items I wouldn’t recommend doing free shipping

Yes you can send normal priority in anything you want, just not the special priority service boxes

Either way you do it you should view it as a total price. There’s trending prices on eBay so if an item is trending at $40 free shipping, why would anyone buy yours at $40 plus shipping so you’d want to list at $40 free ship or like $32 plus $8 shipping. I find it easier to just do free shipping. Just make sure you know what things will cost to ship so you don’t get burned on your projections if you do this. The eBay shipping calculator is a great way to learn these rates.

Use the eBay shipping calculator to estimate how much it’s going to cost to ship to the worst case scenario. Build this into your price. If there’s no room for profit after doing this then don’t buy the item

No if you pay for the label on eBay you just drop the package off. And yes tracking is included it’ll show up on the listing

Because i was out of room at the time and had nowhere else to put it so I just tare the scale lol

I selected buyer pays shipping but…I still have to pay 6.00 for label. Why? Shouldn’t label be including in shipping amount and paid by the buyer. Also eBay selected the shipping price and the weight & size seemed right so is that good option?
You always have to pay for shipping either way, it’s not like Poshmark. If you do calculated shipping with the correct weight and dimensions it’s going to charge the buyer more than it would cost you to ship the item.
I thought calculated shipping was a little less then eBay giving you suggested pricing? I’m sure you can tell I’m brand new at this.
Calculated shipping will charge the buyer more then it actually costs you to ship the item.

You can only send priority labels in priority boxes. First class cannot go in priority boxes

How do you deal with items take don't sell?
Since I’ve been selling for over 10 years now I only buy items that I know will sell. The longer you’re in the game and learn all different kinds of niches you don’t really have to worry about stuff not selling. Some things take longer than others but everything eventually sells for a profit. I view all of my inventory as a long term investment. PAYtience
