Even though this was 5 year's ago I wish I could buy this from you cause I can literally not do this on my own and it's very hard but this is just very awesome.
Great video, really impressive work! 😊 I have a question about the collar tabs - are they from ATF as well? If not, where did you get them? And how did you manage to bring everything to Europe without any customs issues? The braid strips also look fantastic, may I ask where they’re from? Thanks in advance, and keep up the amazing content!
I had a volksmarine jacket, and there was a small slit cut into the collar' stitching at the laupel, and the tresse was tucked into there. I'm not sure how much the hook would get in the way for a feldbluse, but it is a technique that one can use as well, at least for an open collared tunic.
@@hansbauer6817 well, you can see at the end, there is nothing to explain it, make it wet, a little bit stretch it, then burn down the fluffy wool, and brush it in the end the burnt wool
The whole entire Yugoslav army gear in those days when l was Tito's soldier 27 years ago was just as similar as the German Wermacht uniform. The only thing is that on the front of the cap we had a 'RED STAR'!!!
I have a pair of repro officer shoulder boards and pips to be attached to them, problem is the shoulder boards are rock hard. Do you have any tips as to how you can attach the pips? Drilling holes through the shoulder boards? I tried soaking one of them in water but it didn't help.

How long does the tresse strip need to be on the collar. I know a foot will work for the shoulder boards. Also Hessen Antique sells tresse by the foot just wondering how much I would need?
Not going to lie i almost started laughing when i saw you showering in it. I recently got an original M40 infantry regiment großdeutschland. The cuff title is falling off and buttons need resewing as well as belt hooks.
I would highly recommend that you for example get this book "Feldbluse: The German Army Field Tunic, 1933-1945", it gives you very good information on the basics. The tress is a "rank device", and basically denotes the NCO rank "family" in a way. :)
I have now attempted to sew both Heer officer collar tabs and SS EM collar tabs, but I am simply struggling too much with the needle not penetrating the collar tab. Like, you do it with such ease in the video, yet when I try it myself, I almost break the needle while pushing it through. So, what am I doing wrong?

If you are talking about collecting originals, I would get some german ww2 collecting/reference books. This way you can gain some knowledge about original items and help you identify the fakes. It will also give you some insight into the vast amount of items that can be collected. Start collecting something that appeals to you, something that you like or find interesting, like medals or helmets. And of course, something that fits your budget.
