Mechanical to hydraulic is a great start... But 140mm to 160mm rotors is where the better braking modulation takes effect. It's Essentially adding almost 20% more braking torque. I made a tutorial on. I would definitely give it a try if I were you. Nice video btw!
Always enjoy the videos 👍🏼 I’m hoping the MTB manufacturers get involved more and start producing parts and upgrades for eScooters. Would love better fixings, bolts parts etc. Tyre manufacturers also!!
actually I think you missed the biggest point with the brake sensor, it cuts up the power of the motors, because electric scooter components are low quality (like the display trigger) many of them fail and go full throttle (magnet snaps out of place, plastic holder brakes etc), pressing the break will avoid any danger that might happen to you by taking hold of situation and stop without a problem... and not the (almost) useless breaking blinking lights...
plus its an "always open" system, if you dont connect that line then it will think that the brake is always 100% activated, and you wont go anywhere, happened to me after the lever snapped off but the sensor was still intact
Unfortunately, it seems now the new Varlas will not come with the Zoom Hydraulic brakes but a brand they call MAKUTA, have not heard of it, and the symbols on the units are Chinese. I will be interested in knowing if new customers are getting the same brakes as mine or the Zooms. Not very happy, as the rear brake took a lot of tweaking to get it from screeching and the brake lever feels squishy compared to the front, may need to bleed it out in the near future. Also, my rear disc brake was completely rusted, needed to buy another and they ended up refunding me. The clamp was also disassembled and thrown on the bottom of the box. Overall 7/10 packaging and 6/10 out of the box readiness. I will do a review soon. Now once all is set and ready, the scooter is a lot of fun to ride. I got the extended handlebars you recommended and I love them! Makes the world of a difference. Got some other goodies that I installed! Thanks for the inspiration!
Can you send me a link where i can buy these little metal things by 2:59 - 3:03 i have buyed these Brakes but tere are not in the package idk where to buy them....
Hi just got a eagle pro today 2021 sep 23rd how much to get hydrolics as mine are just macanical ones is they a big difference bud?also want a bk foot rest but crazy price for a dultron make!!!🤑
So I'm glad to have the upgraded brakes on my new varla scooter but they are super aggressive and I worry about the general public with no motorcycle experience. Super aggressive but better then having to adjust brakes every ride. I'm actually hoping as they wear they lose some of that grab. Because right now they try to throw you over the handles. Anxious to hear other people's opinions. Thanks
hi. im from the Philippines. im having a hard time looking for a right mounted brake disc. and i saw your video. can i ask what brand was your hydraulic brakes?
im thinking about adding hydrolic brakes on my scooter.i have an apollo city and im wandering if i dont reconect the brake light cables will the rest off the scooter still function because if heard of error codes that can come up on some scooters due to that
Love the videos! I just got my first real scooter ( Quick wheel explorer) and love the 12 miles so far, I also live in Utah and would love to go riding with you some day keep up the good content!
Hi, i have a scooter that has a closed brake system, the rear brake is no longer working, and the front brake is squishy. I messaged the company for what size brake pads i need, and the told me i cant change the pads, that i have to spend 100s of dollars and buy two completely new brakes from them. That doesseem right to me, do you have any knowledge regarding this? Thanks. Oh, and i have completely disabled the eletronic brakes in p settings, will i still have to use brake fluid?
Just seeing how you like your Eagle One Scooter I want to know because I'm thinking about grabbing money tell me how do you like it after you've been owned and meant for this amount of time is it worth it because I thought about getting a nanrobot D6
@@everythingoutdoorzy88 thanks very much. That is what I thought. They are mirror images of each other. I just thought maybe a plug and wire could be swapped. I've fastened the brake line well with zip ties and it's been fine. Thanks very much for your expertise. Varla actually responded- they weren't as clear as you but just said "its fine- we made some with the brake rotor on the same side and others with rotors on opposite sides.
I'm finding these brakes all over Amazon for scary affordable prices but 4 stars. I just can't seem to find a set with wiring for the brake light and I really don't want to lose that light. anyone know how I can find this exact set up with the wiring for the brake light?

Do you have this on your escooter? My concern with the size is that it will hit rocks if you go a lot off-roading....
@@everythingoutdoorzy88 lol just do it... Every scooter comes with 160mm now. Back then nobody had it so that's why I made a tutorial.

Mechanical breaks are less of a headache in my opinion. Easier to adjust and more straight forward. These zoom breaks can become a headache

You make a good point. You're right and I totally missed that.
This exact failure happened to Me today on my Mantis. Uncontrolled and unintended full acceleration with an Error code. 350 miles on mine
yeah exactly. Are the Magura e series brakes the only name brand levers that come stock with the electric connection?
@@Goodman-4525 no, there are zoom and nutt also

I think you can flip the brakes to opposite side so the logo faces underneath and doesn't bump into the display controller
There's a little reservoir in there that needs to be right side up.
