Hi guys! I love the Friday uploads! So far it seems like you’ve only heard “Radio” Hot Chili Peppers. You should really check out some of their funkier stuff like Power of Equality or Mellowship Slinky in B Major. Their album cuts tend to be more interesting, too. Something like “Easily” and “Get On Top” are also cool. Have a great weekend!
Great summation George… when you describe older bands chasing a past sound… couldn’t have put it better myself… I agree RHCP was still able capture it in this song
Early stuff is hard rap funk metal… Backwoods, Me and my friends, BrothersCup, Black eye Blonde, Subway to Venus, Magic Johnson … gotta do the early stuff sometime
You guys are a joy to Watch!!!! Love this song!!!! Love that The Red Hot Chili Peppers kept there style!!!! Great soon to be hit that is getting a lot of airwaves......Like Led Zeppelin at their ages in their 70's are still rocking out audiences....and the Red Hot Peppers are going to be in concert here in California soon.....so thanks guys.
You should dig more into Blood Sugar Sex Magik, imo their best album. Songs like Funky Monks, Suck My Kiss, Sir Psycho Sexy, Mellowship Slinky in B Major, the title track, basically anything that's not Under The Bridge or Give It Away!
Lots of great songs on this album!! Probably their best one in 20 years. I recommend Let ‘em Cry, Whatchu Thinkin, and White Braids & Pillow Chair. All instant classics!
It would be nice to see you do,some older RHCP songs. One of my favorites is “Snow (Hey, Oh)”. The guitar riff just makes me happy. Frusciante and Flea are amazing together. This won’t be my favorite song of theirs, but I am interested to hear the others on this album.
You guys need to see the Chili peppers live at the slane castle in 2003. The best version of every song is on there and i don’t even listen to the studio versions anymore
Check out the album's second track: "Here Ever After." I'm a metal/hip-hop fan, but that song is pop-rock perfection, in my opinion. It gets better the more you listen to it, too. Love the channel, guys! 😁🤘🍻
Flea’s bass line will make you want to pick up a bass and jam!! It’s that good!! Chad’s drums, John just floats around adding depth. Anthony straight spits. The most ripping song on a fantastic album.
When my dad and I first listened to "Under the Bridge", on the cassette he bought, he commented that Kiedis sounds like Elmer Fudd. I never heard what he was hearing until this song, lol. RHCP= legends "Cant' Stop" with Video
The Chili Peppers have always had an interesting relationship with getting into social issues, especially early on. There's Johnny Kick a Hole in the Sky, American Ghost Dance, Knock Me Down, Power of Equality, The Righteous and the Wicked. This album has this song and the next single, These Are the Ways. Some subtle, like Black Summer and some that punch you in the face, like Power of Equality. I know Anthony fought hard for Power of Equality because Rick Rubin just wanted songs about hot women and cars when they were making Blood Sugar Sex Magik and boy am I glad Anthony won that fight. It's easily one of the best opening album tracks in their 12 album career. It really is a shock to the system in the best way possible. I'd definitely recommend anyone checking it out.
I love most of the records but a lot them are well warranted to be your favorite. That's a great album. My favorite is The Uplift Mofo Party Plan. But you could easily pick any of 10 out of their 12 albums as your favorite and we would all sympathize. Speaks to their level of talent.
This speaks to how solid or complete this album really is because I don't have those rated very high on my list of best songs on the album (minus let em Cry). My favourites were Aquatic Mouth Dance, The Great Apes, It's Only Natural, and The Heavy Wing.

RHCP knows exactly how to make a hit. This is exactly the type of song you expect them to make and they never disappoint. I'm so happy that John is back with the band, his skill on a guitar is really amazing. He's got a way of making interesting riffs, solos etc with few notes and he has a distinct sound.

This song is very Jimi Hendrix sound and tone from a guitar perspective.
You should do Wet Sand. A great driving song that builds and takes you on a journey. And the solo is one of Frusciante’s best
Such a melancholic song
I remember being afraid of listening to it when I was a kid, because it made me cry
Agreed but the solo is too short, especially as a playoff at the end of the song.
Black Summer is about the devastating fires in Australia, cause I believe the bass player (Flea) has originated there.
They got Frusciante back. I think he is a big part of their “sound” or at least my favorite albums.
