Watching you bake with Benjamin brought back so many wonderful memories of my son and I. I was the divorced mother of a three year old, living in a new and unfamiliar city. It was me and him. He was my world and I was his. His favorite was applesauce oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (say that three times fast 🤭) and we made a pile of them over the years. He would stand on a stool drawn up to the counter much like Benjamin. His little hands doing their best not to spill the ingredients before they made it into the bowl. Watching you and Benjamin brought back those memories and the emotions of a young mother who was determined that her little boy never catch on to how frightened she really was. He is now almost 40 with a beautiful wife and four adorable children. Thank you for sharing those moments. It goes so fast. Be Careful not to blink. 🥰 💕💕💕

Rainy day gingerbread might just become a thing! Watching you and Benjamin work together is always a treat. Smells delicious!
I have a strong memory of baking gingerbread with my grandma as a teen. I loved cooking and my parents were pretty busy so while they indulged my interests with plenty of ingredients and the opportunity to cook, they didn’t really help out. My grandmother also loved to bake so I enjoyed going to her house and we would bake side by side while she gave me tips. I wanted to try making gingerbread. We ended up baking the recipe out of the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook which I remember being pretty straightforward while she told me about gingerbread at Christmas parties when she was a little girl. She passed about a year later and I’m so happy I have all of my baking memories with her. I know Benjamin will have all kinds of wonderful childhood memories with you and your mom to treasure when he’s all grown up. That’s the best gift you can give him.

You are always so positive and patient with Benjamin. I hope you show him these videos when he is older so he knows the love that molded him to be the awesome person he is. Your children are lucky to have great parents. God bless you all. ❤️
I wonder why your Jesus who created Chicken wants his people to go and convert the whole world into Jesus slaves. Funny isn't it, The word jesus pains for the people who suffered because of Jesus order on infidels right. GO ask all the indigenous cultures in the whole of the world about jesus attrocities, never fail to visit India to see it for yourself. The worst thing you can do to the next generation is make them train them to believe wrong things and lies.
Not a hot mess. I love the reality 💜 Can’t count the number of times a recipe or project turned into hurried trips to the store and extra days of attempts. Your patience handling it is all that matters
Laura we could watch you fold laundry & love it! How can anyone not love seeing Benjamin!❤️❤️. I hope we get to see Benjamin & Samatha Grace tricker treating!!
It's the Benjamin Show, with special guest Garden Answer! He's my favorite part of the channel lately - though I do still love all of the gardening. He's such a sweet boy and brings such joy to everything.
Oh my such a sweet treat laughing out loud with Benjamin this morning!😁 Laura you have the patience of Job and for children I think that is most important in teaching them as they learn. This is inspiring for young mothers watching your videos. I just have to say I have certainly enjoyed your videos this fall your colors have been beautiful! Have a great day!
Real life happens, don't stress over any of it and enjoy the moments between the chaos. I would have given up on the ginger bread after the second round and purchased something instead. LOL your determination is stronger than my coffee forced motivation.
Oh my goodness, I can see your mom in Benjamin. When he was being silly at the beginning of the video. He is becoming such a sweet young man. Thank you for sharing.
We all definitely have these kind of days that despite all our efforts it just doesn’t go as we had hoped! I love how gracefully you show how to just try again and move forward, learning from your mistakes to makes things better for the next time.
This was one of the BEST videos ever. When you showed your failures, and the way you showed them, was priceless. We love your successes and revel in them. But seeing you embrace and laugh at yourself when you fail, that shows a humbleness and humanity and humility we all aspire to achieve. Thank you for being such an excellent example to your children, your community and your UA-cam friends. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this video! You were a lot more persistent to get the gingerbread right than an old lady (70) like me would have been. Benjamin is precious and it was special to see you two baking together. Love your gardening, but this was priceless.
I love your gardening videos but also the cooking ones and shopping ones. Keep them coming. Benjamin is adorable. He reminds me of my Benjamin who is now 37 years old. He loved to help with everything we are doing and now he loves to cook and is very handy. Enjoy these moments they go by so fast.
Love how patient you are with Benjamin! He is a really good helper! I think we’ve all had days like that, but you just keep trying. You’re teaching him perseverance and that it’s okay to mess up! Great job Momma!
I think it's important to have a channel that is consistent, especially new channel, but in your case, we would watch anything you post! Your family is precious and youre so knowledgeable!
Oh honey I love watching y'all cook too! I love that you include when you mess up cause we all do and it just made me giggle thinking about when my mom forgot to put sugar in the brownies and my dad eating them like they were the best thing ever 😁
Oh my gosh! Laura’s first Christmas tree is going up. Time to get my jingle bells going! Benjamin’s giggles made me happy! This is a beautiful Autumn everywhere. I am in Quebec Canada and it’s just been really beautiful. Tis the season for glory!
It feels like we all love any of the content you film. We appreciate you sharing your lives with us all. Your family is so lovely and kind and giving, I can’t imagine anyone being upset about gingerbread. Thank you for all you do!
This video was adorable. That is life. Things are not perfect but lovely and fun, all the same. Your end result gingerbread looked delicious and any excuse to walk around your garden space with you is fine by me. I love that you share these moments.
Morning! Coffee in hand . Benjamin reminds me of my great nephew at his age. His parents always involved him in cooking and home projects. It is through these experiences you create life long learners. As a retired teacher , Benjamin, would be a delight to have as a student. You and Aaron are amazing parents!
I love that you kept in that you had to redo it! I’m usually so hard on myself when I mess up a baking recipe, and I have had to run to the store because I ran out of eggs due to my mistake 😂 it’s nice to know others make baking mistakes as well. Lol.
I have found that all the funny, and even hard, mess-ups become some of the happiest and best remembered memories. The kids speak of these memories, many years latter, as some of their fondest memories. We learn so much in adversity, small or large. Your family is just beautiful. You both have created a happy home!! God Bless!
Laura... we seriously love watching your videos. It doesn't matter if you garden, cook, decorate, shop or just sit around in you jammies and talk to us. We all love watching whatever you do with your lovely family. Hot mess or not!😉 To us it's all just "normal" because that's the way life is!
When I had issues with my oven not heating to the correct temp I added a oven thermometer inside. Afterwards it made baking so much easier! Turned out the heating element needed to be replaced.
I love it. We've all been there....and now I want gingerbread. Especially with ginger whipped cream, that sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing this *slice :) of your day with us!
Oh dear Laura you were not having much luck with the ginger bread. But you got there in the end. It does happen to us all. So cute Benjamin was today and great choice to bake. Just loved the pots to really pretty.
LOL, Thanks for sharing your "Life happens" moment....we just roll with the punches....third time is a charm. I also have my Christmas tree up, but still need to decorate it.
So glad you didn’t scrap this entire video! Life happens to all of us and your gentle way of dealing with your minor catastrophe(s) reminded me to lighten up on myself when things don’t go as planned. Thank you for that! Benjamin is such a treasure! The whole time I’m watching, I’m thinking: what wonderful memories you are making with your beautiful child. I’m in my 60’s now and still remember making Christmas cookies with my precious momma and my 4 siblings when I was Benjamin’s age. 🍪🎄
Oh my goodness...I giggled (with, not at) because I've had many baking "glitches" over the years so I actually really loved this video! How sweet Benjamin is, I remember when my son was his age (he's now 39). Thank you for making the world a better place with your beautiful smile, family and excellent gardening skills & knowledge. God Bless ❤
Hi Laura Aaron and Benjamin ! The joy in life is often those little imperfect perfect moments. Thanks for sharing one of yours! Honestly though I don't watch your videos for only "garden answers" I love following you because of the real connections to you, your life and your family that you share with all of us. It's inspiring and fun! Just keep on keeping it real and I'll keep on coming back! Love love love having my coffee in the morning with all of you! Cheers!
What a great time with Benjamin! I was an over protective mom and didn’t let mine do things like pour the hot water. It was a mistake. They grow so fast. Mine are in college now. Thank you for sharing your special time with Benjamin. I found myself smiling through the whole video. Love the Fluffy arbs in the pots and would love to see the pinecones and lights at Christmas.
Ok I just gasped of joy out loud when Benjamin said Jesus made the chicken. Lord bless that little beautiful soul. So freaking awesome you have shared the best gift in life with your littles ones about who Jesus is. I had a feeling you guys were Christian but never had it confirmed. Even more ecstatic to know I’m supporting Godly people every morning with my cup of coffee after my devotions with the Lord. 💜
So thankful y'all are believers! We may never get a chance to meet in this lifetime, but I pray I can help with your garden in heaven! (If that is part if heaven...)
Good morning, Laura ☕️ That’s the difference in baking vs cooking. You can’t fudge anything. Looks delicious 🤤. The importance of Aaron when filming 😂 however, the arbs look amazing! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
Benjamin is my favorite gingerbread baker now. Best gardening video of 2021. Thanks mom. You two have such nice sparkly eyes. You took all the parts and pieces and strung them together into a delight.
Real life happens to all of us and you handled it like a champ. Benjamin is such a funny goofball, in the best way…yawning while you were talking cracked me up. The containers turned out beautiful! 😊🧡🍁
This video made my morning! Got a few great chuckles and the potted trees turned out beautiful! And I love it when you step away from gardening once in a while. Lots of good stuff going on with you and yours :)
Just another reason why you are our morning wake up call. Down to earth and real as the morning sun! Benjamin is such a bright spot in all our lives who have raised a little one in the kitchen who has grown up and away from home. Wishing you lots of “hot mess days” they are usually the ones that are remembered the most.
Laura, you bring such grace and gratitude to all of us…and Benjamin well he’s just the icing on the cake! Thank you for giving me positive moments to look forward to everyday.
I LOVED this video. So 'real' with the egg shell, incorrect measurement and leaving the egg out. I love to cook - but - i don't like interruptions when measuring - so I can't imagine trying to assist Benjamin and manage a camera while measuring! Thank you for showing it as it was instead editing to make it look all 'perfect.' Real life does not go perfectly and I appreciate you showing your three attempts at ginger bread. It looks delicious!
Laura, I had to laugh, because last night I was making something I've made a hundred times but I put to much flour in it. I love to watch you and Benjamin in the kitchen.
Laura You already know you’ve taught us so much about gardening. But I don’t think you know you’ve taught some of us future mothers all about parenting too. I’ve learned so much from watching you with Benjamin: patience, encouragement, how to engage them in real life activities, how to spark their curiosity and shape their character. And how to model godly living for them. Truly, I’m taking mental notes and carrying them with me into parenthood.
I loved the unscripted life events happening along the way. Look at how resilient you are! I think this is what these 'hot messes' teach us. Have a wonderful weekend. :)
While America enjoys your videos at 5am with a coffee, here in India at 4:30pm I too sit with a coffee to enjoy your videos!! The fall colors are truly amazing! Much love ❤

You are always so positive and patient with Benjamin. I hope you show him these videos when he is older so he knows the love that molded him to be the awesome person he is. Your children are lucky to have great parents. God bless you all. ❤️
Anytime Benjamin is involved, it makes it extra special. Who made the egg? Beverly. Who made Beverly? Jesus. 😍 My heart exploded.
Mine too♥️
God misses His due credit once again.
@@Edu_Kate What? Jesus IS God!
💝💝💝
I wonder why your Jesus who created Chicken wants his people to go and convert the whole world into Jesus slaves. Funny isn't it, The word jesus pains for the people who suffered because of Jesus order on infidels right. GO ask all the indigenous cultures in the whole of the world about jesus attrocities, never fail to visit India to see it for yourself. The worst thing you can do to the next generation is make them train them to believe wrong things and lies.
Not a hot mess. I love the reality 💜
Can’t count the number of times a recipe or project turned into hurried trips to the store and extra days of attempts.
I LOVE how human you were in this video. All of it is so relatable!!!! Thank you for starting of our day with this happiness!!!
💯 % Agree! ❤️
When I was 8 I made a cake for my dad, the box said 2 whole eggs, yep, shells and all, daddy ate it and never said anything :-)......
Thanks for keepin’ it real Laura! This happens to me all the time!
I love it when you guys do other things, its a beautiful warm change, that's easy on the eyes, and takes your mind off the garden for a hot second.
Love this video! You were a lot more persistent to get the gingerbread right than an old lady (70) like me would have been. Benjamin is precious and it was special to see you two baking together. Love your gardening, but this was priceless.
I love that you share the mistakes and the grace with which you handle setbacks. What a great example for your children.
I so enjoyed this video...Benjamin was so sweet. These are going to be a cherished memory for you both. Loved it
Oh my gosh! Laura’s first Christmas tree is going up. Time to get my jingle bells going!
Benjamin’s giggles made me happy! This is a beautiful Autumn everywhere. I am in Quebec Canada and it’s just been really beautiful. Tis the season for glory!
“Who made the chicken? Jesus!” My first smile of the day! Sweet boy!
It feels like we all love any of the content you film. We appreciate you sharing your lives with us all. Your family is so lovely and kind and giving, I can’t imagine anyone being upset about gingerbread. Thank you for all you do!
I LOVE that when asked who made Beverly, without hesitation, Benjamin said "Jesus". Thank you
That was so sweet. I teared up.
Me too!
Me too! I loved the whole video but hearing Benjamin say "Jesus" to Lauras question of who made Beverly was my favorite part!!!
@@joyreed9833 me too ✝️❤️❤️❤️
Agree
The oven could just need to be calibrated. The manual would explain how.
I love it. We've all been there....and now I want gingerbread. Especially with ginger whipped cream, that sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing this *slice :) of your day with us!
Benjamin just made my heart burst with his cuteness 🥰
“Who made the chicken?”
“Jesus”
Been sick all week and this video just made my day, thank you
Joy is found, when God is near.
Amen! Blessed by this video ❤️
Yes! It melted my heart ❤️ whenever I ask my daughter who made something and she doesn’t know the answer she just says God…. Good save 😅
My favorite part too! Hope you get better soon 👍🏼
My husband and I really always watch your videos while having breakfast. We enjoyed this one and started our day with smiles. It kept it real. Thanks
The egg had me cracking up...this was so good on many levels...we need the messes of life to speak the message. :-)
I agree Laura, perfection ! 💗
The seasons have just been amazing transitions!!! So abundant with beautiful blooms and foliage & lovely weather 😊
God Bless ❤
Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us, such an adorable family.
Your gardens are stunning and I’m loving you sharing more family time.
Hi Laura Aaron and Benjamin !
The joy in life is often those little imperfect perfect moments.
Thanks for sharing one of yours!
Honestly though I don't watch your videos for only "garden answers"
I love following you because of the real connections to you, your life and your family that you share with all of us. It's inspiring and fun!
Just keep on keeping it real and I'll keep on coming back!
Love love love having my coffee in the morning with all of you! Cheers!
Benjamin's love for cooking and baking sure makes up for common mistakes.
Rough days, but you made the best of it!! Precious time spent with Benjamin!!
Thanks for sharing.
Joy is found, when God is near....
Amen!!🙏 Beautiful to see the Joy of the Lord in their Beautiful Family!!❤❤😊
Glad you were able to get an edible pan of gingerbread. A wonderful treat.
Love when Laura keeps it real Mistakes like this happen to me in the kitchen as well! I kind of enjoy this style of video …Unpolished fun!
I loved the unscripted life events happening along the way. Look at how resilient you are! I think this is what these 'hot messes' teach us. Have a wonderful weekend. :)
Who made the egg? ....Beverly!!
Who made the chicken? Jesus! 😃🙌 Adorable.
While America enjoys your videos at 5am with a coffee, here in India at 4:30pm I too sit with a coffee to enjoy your videos!! The fall colors are truly amazing! Much love ❤
Oh what fun and memories… great attitude … go with the flow. Loved the squished egg part it made me laugh 😂. The planting is beautiful thank you for wonderful ideas. ❤️
Benjamin is the sweetest! Love all the mishaps, that’s what funny memories are all about! ❤️
I had a hot mess day yesterday. You inspire me with your positive attitude when things don’t work out as planned. I strive for that! Thanks for your smiles as you shared the mishaps!
That is such a nice video, had to laugh of that forgotten egg lying there😅you impress me with your cool though…. I think I would have gone thru the roof after that second failure😅 Benjamin is such a charmer ❤️
“Who made the chicken - Jesus”. Benjamin is so precious. Love your content Laura. Thanks from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦🍁🍂
Hello, from Alberta!
Hello from Woodstock Ontario
Hi from Ajax, Ontario, 🇨🇦
🌧Raining here in southeast Michigan, too. Benjamin is the best big brother. I hope Samantha Grace continues to feel better each day. Benjamin’s sweet laugh just made this Granny’s day!! I enjoy taking my break at work to enjoy time with you and all GA viewers. Have a wonderful day everyone! 🍪🎃🍁🍂🧡
Oh, how I can relate to this video, lol!
Thank you for sharing and letting us see that these things happens to everyone. 😉 ❤ 🇨🇦
Love all you do, thank you for letting us into your life! real boots, gingerbread, Benjamin and all x
Here in southwestern Kentucky we have had a great fall as well so far. No frosts at all yet and none in the forecast. Leaves barely even turning color. I remember those precious moments with my son, Benjamin... those bonding teachable moments. When you are in the future..looking back... you will realize those are the most important moments and the ones you hold most dear to your heart. Thank God for moms like you Laura ❤️❤️❤️
Hello from central KY. We’ve had some color although not spectacular and could be due to lots of rain lately. 🧡💛🤎🍁🍂🌾
@@jcking6785 .... it’s November (basically) and we are still mowing and I’m still planting. Amazing weather 😀. The temps and the rain have been such a blessing. We farm and have had the best yields EVER this year Praise the Lord! We just need a dry spell to harvest our soybeans. I hope we have a pleasant winter... snow maybe but NO ICE STORMS! 🙏
@@rphjacobs9197
Here in Lexington, most years, by Halloween, we’ve had a least one killing frost but so far, not even a light one here. Best of luck to you! 🧡💛🤎🍁🍂
@@jcking6785 ... University of Kentucky is where I went to college. So I am familiar with Lexington and it is one of the most beautiful cities anywhere ❤️. Years ago the Lexington cemetery had the most amazing tulips in the spring. Are they still doing that??? I miss driving by the castle every time I came home from college. And the horse farms!!! ❤️❤️❤️. I now live in the south western part of the state and one house down is a hardiness zone 7 but I am a 6B. So you get colder winters there in Lexington than we do.

Oh my heart! This boy is the sweetest, cutest, and just incredibly precious!!! I love the Benjamin and
Mommy videos! ❤️ Thank you so
Much for sharing him with us!
Love the way you love your family and I see that from your mom as well. Learning a lot from you thank you.
Oh Laura we all have days like this especially in the kitchen. The most important part is the time spent with your sweet Benjamin. I would love the Bellini recipe. I have a couple bottles of LaMarca sitting on my counter also.
The video my son and I watch before going to bed.. Good night Laura! Hi Benjamin, my 5 year old boy adores you! ❤️
Your sweet boy is precious❤️ Such a fun age….enjoy your time with him, as I’m sure you do! God bless all of you!!
Benjamin just makes me smile, just so darn cute, he’s high on life - good job. Little oopsies are just part of life.
Wonderful video!! You can't be perfect at everything. This winter will be fun for you and Benjamin. Loved it.
