It's called climate change, not global warming (hasnt been since the 80's). Its not just about hot summers! The winters are feeling colder from the higher levels of humidity in the air caused by greater evaporation from the simultaneously warmer summers occuring on the opposing hemisphere along the equator. I.E., when it's winter here in the north, it's summer in the south and because of rising global temperature averages there is always more humidity in troposphere, which means "heavier air" that feels colder than the actual ambient air temperature in the winter months. Greater evaporation also means more clouds, obviously, leading to more precipitation; bigger winter blizzards and bigger late summer and fall hurricanes along the coasts.

Another thing is the terror act made by an ISIS-supporter in Stockholm 2017 happened because he jumped into an idling truck, and drove into a bunch of people.
@@NoobNoobNews Cause we are 9 million people not 300 million. You dont NEED aircon or heater on while stationary. powerlifts sure but thats not what its about. Radio works on battery, you wont drain it with engine off. But most of all the cars and trucks need to be inherently efficient and clean. With the latest emission regulations, like Euro 6 class, the air does not get that polluted. In the video there were many examples where you cant justify the idling, these are the situations were talking about. Not while a truck is using its accessories to perform duties.
Honestly I don't see why people are complaining. If you don't want to pay up then simply turn off your engine. If you can't park there then you're simply congesting the road and causing traffic. This literally benefits everyone except for those who actually idle. It's no different than leaving your sink running when brushing your teeth. Just don't do it, there's no reason not to.
The produce truck was in a space I think. At least it was parked in front of a meter. What I’d be concerned with is what’s called a “hot shutdown” on a Diesel engine. Google it. It will destroy a turbocharger which is thousands of dollars to replace on a pickup so I’m sure it’s a fortune on a heavy truck.
I see your point, but wrong. 99x out of 100 these trucks are doing drops, pickups, etc, and when you turn off the truck and walk away traffic officers will think you parked, run up, and use their computers to write you a ticket. They leave it on for a few minutes to avoid the double parking violations, but in the end seems to be a double edged sword. You clearly aren't from NYC to know that there is literally zero parking for trucks especially ones that need to do deliveries and pickups.
It shows that normal people don’t understand that when you’re driving a delivery truck doing drop offs turning your engine on and off constantly causes a lot of wear and tear which is very expensive overtime.
that's a myth. idling is a lot worse for your engine that start/stopping. not only is it using fuel for no reason and spewing exhaust, but it's building up a lot of heat and putting stress on the cooling system. auto start/stopping is a feature on a lot of modern cars and i think all hybrids do it. www.anl.gov/article/ask-a-scientist-when-is-it-more-efficient-to-turn-off-my-car-instead-of-idling

Is it really that hard to turn your engine off? If so, maybe it’s time for all these drivers to find a new job or move out of the city, there’s plenty of people who’d love to take their place.
I like the reason. But do the math: 290 submissions and 35 cheques..... Time, equipment and effort equals minimum wage.... No ones getting rich except government saving wages
Right? The title suggests these people makes a ton of easy money by doing this, but no math or data to back that up. It is was 5 mins recording the evidence and you might get an $87.50 check, it is rather impressive at ~$125 per hour, but they mention the paper work, and any state paperwork is likely going to be an hour plus per filing. Now you go from 5 mins of work to 65 mins and the pay drops from $9.75 per hour, below NYC min wage.

Global warming has entered the chat

It has the best air quality compared to any other major US city... go check out California lol
It shows that normal people don’t understand that when you’re driving a delivery truck doing drop offs turning your engine on and off constantly causes a lot of wear and tear which is very expensive overtime.
Getting lung cancer is also expensive.
that's a myth. idling is a lot worse for your engine that start/stopping. not only is it using fuel for no reason and spewing exhaust, but it's building up a lot of heat and putting stress on the cooling system. auto start/stopping is a feature on a lot of modern cars and i think all hybrids do it.
www.anl.gov/article/ask-a-scientist-when-is-it-more-efficient-to-turn-off-my-car-instead-of-idling
UPS trucks in my area shut off the engine every time they're in the process of a delivery. Same with the USPS trucks if it's over a certain amount of time.
@Jurassic Pork they get killed before they can get diagnosed for lung cancer, it's a scam bro
Nii living in New York is expensive.
Legend says this man hasn’t farted since 2001.
Wait a minute. You need heat in the winter and ac in the summer. Those both only work when the car is on.
I sat nest to him at work in 2003. Great to see him doing big things. Cheers George!
Your standard with the definition of rich is very low, this is however a great concept for the homeless
But hey, to each their own
I know people are laughing at them, but it's a small, but important step towards influencing companies more environmentally friendly.
#democratthoughts 🤡🤡🤡
There was a busybody in California in the late 90s who collected $1000.00 dollar rewards on taggers. He was on the local news and collected on 20 or so taggers. Within a year, he was shot up in his car by unknown assailants when he was staking out a tagging crew.. Lesson learned. Don't be a busy body.
So your takeaway from that story is the criminals should be allowed to do crimes because they'll kill people for pointing out their crimes?
@@TheRealConcertKing Pretty much that's how urban life is. It's not so cut and dry in flat earth land where you live... The reward is still in place in California but not too many takers since Mr. Busybody was shot a few times back in 98....
I remember that shooting in California. The taggers that person got rewards from worked in a general area and was suspected of having lookouts and ambushed him when he showed up. If I'm not mistaken, they tagged his car after they shot him.
I was a trucker and I would not leave my vehicle to idle for the same reason they are doing this. But a lot of trucker are basically homeless needing to idle for heat and power.
@Hello GEAUX FRUGAL, How are you doing?
I'm pretty sure the guy in the shades that rolled up his window is a terminator
He does this to make up for all his stolen lunch money 😂 #snitch
I agree with them but I would like them to try to prevent the issue from happening in the first place instead of making everyone involved frustrated during the fact.
This guy is the super hero we didn't know we needed!!! Thank you for saving the world Supe-Douche!!!
What happens when the temp drops below freezing they still can’t idle?
after a few people die they will reverse the law.
Ya that is kinda dumb u start to run in to issues with diesels at colder temps
Nope they have to freeze because they are trying to make honest living unlike this fuckwad
Not after 4 minuets
@@bsgvlog5640 Surely only after the city gets the shit sued out of them by a grieving family.
F*+=#%^ Randall from Recess in adult form.
💀💀💀
You don't have heat or air conditioning if you aren't idling that's the real problem...
David Pratt Well shucks! There’s nothing we can do. So, anyways...Did you hear what Kim Kardashian ate for lunch yesterday?
The truck at the end , nobody was even in the car . I think it’s fair to say that idling for 3 minutes while you’re in there isn’t a problem, but the volume of everyone leaving their trucks on for 5-15 minutes is probably the bigger issue
He is the type of guy who would attempt to make a citizen arrest 😂😂
LOOP HOLE: Install a hand throttle and rev the thing to the max. Its not idling then, is it.
Engine will be dead within 2 weeks
There's always loop holes
The truck is still idling. Anyway, why go to that trouble when turning a key does the trick and doesn't give people lung cancer?
@@peter_smyth I have equipment that requires my truck to run at idle. This dude is messing with people's livelihood. Good way to end up spitting your teeth on the sidewalk.
@@peter_smyth that makes zero sense
This is exactly what big brother wants citizens snitching on other citizens, this is just the beginning.
In nazi Germany it was encouraged upon school children to snitch on their parents.
AequitasVeritas it’s not snitching when someone is doing the wrong thing. If I see you get murder I won’t say nothing though
Persvades “it’s not snitching if somebody is doing something wrong” isn’t that the definition of snitching? How could you snitch on positive behaviour?
Frank Post snitch on positive behavior? How do you think people get promotions at work? Or rewarded for doing something.
BADD1ONE The DARE program did the same thing in the 90’s.
Waiting on someone had enough of this guy and run him down
I want you to start a 30 y/o bus in sub zero temps. There's a reason diesels idle. It's not conservation of fuel, it's keeping them running.
"I don't like breathing in toxic fumes"
Makes life out of standing next to vehicles emitting toxic fumes.
I idle my truck all the time. If you are running lights at night, or your lift gate for heavy items, you need to our your battery would die. This white collar worker doesn't understand.
The people in the video was sitting in the truck doing nothing or outside leaving it unattended.
@@NoobNoobNews It's good advice.
Good work! You're a hero my friend..
Yea surprised no one backed over him when he is getting that plate picture yet
Yea surprised nobody committed murder for having his vehicle filmed in the public
That would be real smart to catch an attempted murder or even a murder charge over doing something that's illegal and unhealthy for the environment anyways.
One day, he will run up to that one person that will idle his teeth out of his mouth for him.
That doesnt even make sense. Never again attempt humour.
Those men need girlfriends
That produce truck is a rolling refrigerator that keeps your organic veggies nice and fresh, Mr Banker. It has to stay running.
Actually it has a reefer unit. The truck can be shut off and the the reefer can run independently. This guy's still a douche though.
@@dsummit Interesting..thanks for pointing that out. I did not know they had an independent engine.
I worked at a truck stop in highschool and we would do oil changes on them. That's the only way I know about it.
