I used to work at a Starbucks that this guy frequented. I would look at him in his question mark suit and be like " WTF...!" fast forward a year or so after I found out by mere chance what he does, I sat down next to him and asked him about ways to get into the IT industry (no degree, no exp) he recommended a local non-profit organization that teaches tech support. now I am a network engineer thanks to this man! God bless him!

He’s being super modest about how he didn’t do any of the work on those books. Can you imagine sifting through all those government documents and categorizing them all into digestible chapters to be interpreted by the common man and adding silly titles that coincide with your image? That sounds horrible.

Exactly! My partner and his whole shift got cut (30 people) and we decided to use government benefits until he was able to find a job to help support us. We felt incredibly guilty but we have both been paying into the system for decades, tens of thousands taken in taxes from the both of us just last year. Damn right I was going to take advantage of those supplemental benefits until we can get our heads above water again. Without assistance we would have had to be homeless, until he was able to get a new job and that first check. People mock the system until they are the ones that need it, I've definitely learned from that.

THIS!!! Clearly the latter is a *much* larger amount of money "lost" for the government. Hundreds of millions in tax dollars are lost annually from multi-billion dollar industries, because for some reason people in charge think these large corporations will in some way "give back" to those customers in forms other than taxes. That is a gross assumption that these individuals care about the masses when in reality most of the rich just keep getting richer, and only care about filling their pockets.

"The government should be doing what I'm doing..."
This line right here. He's telling people, informing them about programs that already exist that are meant to help people, and he's doing nothing wrong. People don't seem to realize that the government is supposed to be working for you. Helping you. If they actually did their job, there would be so many more programs out there that actually help people. I'm talking free medical, education, etc. But no. The government for a long time is being run to help corporations make billions. Laws made to take away from programs that would help keep people of the streets and fed. Some people like to complain and say that the government isn't supposed to be helping you and I call bull on that. It was created for that very purpose.

Ayy Lmao no you haven’t. That’s why we’re $21 trillion in debt. Yes endless wars and corporate welfare are huge. There is no free lunch. In the near term I’m sure it’s awesome. All societies fail for this reason. Once the government is allowed to exit sound money and use fiat they inflate the supply until its total failure. Every single time throughout history. Santayana, those who cannot remember the past...? But yes Keynes said in the long run we’re all dead, so who cares live it up right? There will be consequences to this. Venezuelan children lived the outcome of runaway debasement and paid the ultimate price. The government fixed the problem by making it illegal for doctors to report starvation as their cause of death. If this all seems incoherent and confuses you, that’s exactly why we are collectively fucked.

Yes and no, yes because they create jobs ok.. but a big no no is corporations like apple that like to brag about their profits/results at the expense of american citizans.. how? They produce their stuff in China and charge a premium for it, even in the USA where apple products are cheaper than other countries. And then thanks to their lobbying, like the op said, they have huge "tax breaks", because they pay something really low on taxes compared to small and medium companies thanks to tax schemes, that let them evade taxes legally, so again making big bucks at the expense of the American citizens.
To add to that problem, lots of huge corporations do that, apple, google, and others, so imagine the amount of $. And again its not fair to small and medium business to pay more taxes than these huge corporations.

+Samuel Leško Actually he could, technically, not have the same surname as you. There's Lesko (which is Polish, would mean his family came from the town of the same name) and Leško (which is Slovak), and a Slovak ancestor emigrating to the USA in the 19th or early 20th century is going to remove the accent mark. So the surname could be either one of those.
Not that it really matters, just saying.

Mrdie No, thank you for you input. I didn't know there was a similar Polish surname. :)

@Tom Cruise so police, fire departments, numerous offices that handles taxation, customs and infrastructural upkeep all these things are pointless in your world guess your the text book definition of an anarchist.

You should never rely on the government to leave the money in the hands of the public. It shouldn't be in the hands of the government in the first place. You work for your money you have a lot less to worry about. You rely on everybody else to pay for your wants and needs you end up with no personal freedom or liberty.

    • @akbrooks70
      @akbrooks70 5 років тому +2

@@cancerino666 That's not what we're talking about. This money clearly isn't making its way to any kind of infrastructure or science. There are several publications by Rand Paul that explain all of the ridiculous studies that are put out just so people can keep their funding. It isn't science. They have no justifiable reason for being studied. Privatized institutions lead to the science that's applied in your everyday life not the government funded "studies".
If this were going to infrastructure, fine. We can all live with that, but its lining the pockets of lifer politicians and people that contribute to their "foundations"...
Infrastructure is a local government issue not federal government. We don't need services either. The country (rich and poor) did better on charity than it ever did with the welfare system. Truth is, most "services" are a big waste of money.
Government expansion historically isn't the friend of personal rights and freedoms.

    • @Zretgul_timerunner

@@akbrooks70 what are you talking about? Aslong as you follow the rule of law and the requirements if any to get social support your well entitled to get it. The liberty is all over that, nobody is forcing you to take out the social benefits but you can if you want to or need to.
Your freedom aint even at play, or you assuming the gov walks door to door to give out social benefit cheques...
And somehow therein can blackmail you out of what? Not getting your benefits? Starving? The list goes on.
