I truly believe after living in a leaking new build for 5 years, is that before contracts are exchanged and the mortgage company has paid out, that it is a requirement that independent companies should inspect your home. I would have gladly had a few hundred pounds added to my mortgage to have it independently inspected by a company such as this before I was legally obliged to own it.Beleive me people you don't want to live in a shoddy house where no one is interested once you have signed. The mortgage people just want your money and building companies will promise you the earth that they will put it right, but they don't! They spend the next however many years walking over your new carpets and destroying your life. Lovell homes take note!!

If you saw the sheer amount of Coke getting snorted on building sites, you'd not be surprised at the way these houses are built. Can you imagine the millions of sub standard homes coming onto the market in years to come, it'll be a buyers minefield, even more than it is now.

these "builders" that are employed to build these properties are definitely trolling the new owners. pretty sure they bodge it on purpose. and i think whoever signs these houses off has essentially given up because they're so bad.

The only way they will ever stop all these poorly built houses is to have totally independent building inspectors who have no financial ties to any building company. It also makes me wonder what these cowboys are doing with major infrastructure projects; guess we will find out in the coming decades.
