You better plug the extension cord hole with steel wool and spray foam, mice won’t chew on steel wool, also the solar like cord hole with caulk or there will be bees and all manner of creepy crawling insects.
Attach a power strip with surge protection and USB plug built in to the wall and plug the extension cord into that. It's still not to code but he won't be moving the cord around.

It’s so crazy that y’all haven’t used that stuff in years and you still rented a storage unit. I did the same thing when I moved. Thankfully I realized for the yearly cost of the storage unit, I could buy the non-sentimental stuff I was storing.
Not everything in the storage unit hadn’t been used in years. The stuff that was never used was thrown away, sold, or donated, while the things we do still need and use got stored
@@margaretskiff Great job figuring out what you actually needed to keep. Buying stuff new when I needed it was cheaper than paying over $3,000 a year for my storage unit. That still blows my mind. Anyway, great job on creating a room for your brother. I bet he was happy to come back to his own space.
Turned out just fine that´s awesome! I built a tiny cabin about that size on my property here in rural Mexico, funny just yesterday I did the same for a while used it as a storage but finally it´s ready to rent as an Airbnb. I´m sure your brother will be very comfy.

That's a pretty big shed! Nice job, especially thrifting clothing for his arrival. Consider maxing out on solar, and a solar battery for night. That cord at some point is either going to trip someone or accidentally get cut. Maybe your brother can insulate and wallboard the walls, as well as raise the floor, and build a front porch.
Is your brother still in the shed? If not, I'm curious what you did. This seems like a great little pad to rent out as an AirB'n'B kind of thing. You'd probably make significantly more from it than what you're spending on storage for that stuff.
Looks good-nice job! Hope you sealed it all up w/sealant as the mice will come back in & destroy everything! What about heat or did I miss that in the video?
@@awesomeniecy9242 It is not always hot here in Virginia. It can be bitter cold at times, 5 F. Sometimes Summer comes early, and sometimes the Winter comes early and stays late. Just depends.
Yeah that guy is going to freeze to death 😅. You want to insulate that place and throw in some interior walls. You might have to fur out those walls to make room for the insulation. And you’re going to have to do a bit of framing for the roof because heat rises which will result in a lot of heat loss. No outside heater is going to be able to keep up with the loss of heat come winter.
I said the same thing. When we did basically the samething for my son when he was college only ours was a little bigger we insulated it and put corrugated cardboard on the walls and put a space heater out in it because we had to do it in a hurry, that next spring we put pulled the cardboard off and put dry wall up, added a small kitchenette it in with a microwave and 9 function Airfryer and refurbed a small pot belly wood burning stove that I found on Facebook Marketplace for next to nothing to put in it so the only time he had to come into the house was use the bathroom and shower. He lived in it for all four years of college and 2 years after until he bought a small little house.
Nice Shed Turn out bedroom just place calling into holes where uour cords are coming through for lights and electric because you want to keep out Critters permanently with some form of sealant or Rubber seals NICE UNIT but where is his shower and compos Unit
The can also spray foam the walls and use the left over for the floor spray foam is amazing and also whool if she can find someone that has sheep or alpha there whool is the best thing for insulation ever
I'm a probably get 3 of the portable solar generators that sell for about $600 and open up like a suitcase so that I always had. Stand By in the event that there wasn't Sun but I like about that solar panel that I'm referring to is. It is a pass through meaning it will accept energy from the sun while you are using it.
Idk where you live but It's going to get awfully cold in there during the winter because it's not insulated. I would have at bare minimum put some roll insulation and some cardboard for the walls. When I turned my shed into a bedroom for my son when he came home from college for holidays and that's what we did the first winter, then in the spring we drywalled it and painted it.
@@jeepsanddragons I understand that but once it's insulated it can easily become a tiny house again during the winter, idk if you know this but SHIT HAPPENS sometimes. You never know what might happen, a family member may get sick or brother may lose his job and have to move back home, there's a MILLION reasons why to go ahead and build it out just in case.......
Hopefully by winter he finds another place. Without some insulation it will be like sleeping outside. Otherwise real good job. He should really like it.
Don't know where you guys live, but that set up might work for the summer, but won't work for the winter if you are up north. A roll or two of insulation and some cheap paneling might have made it weather worthy for all year. Cute setup, however!

Yes but foam spray or sumthg ov the hole and some type of wire mice don't like that it real nice what you have done he will appreciate and love it
