With a severe level curve it may affect your height slightly but as you grow it’s hard to pin point the straightening of the Spine rather than the growth. So pretty much you probably won’t tell if it’s the brace or just height growth as you get older.
Hi! My sister had very very severe scoliosis with a 75° Curve at only 5 years old, to the point her organs were almost crushed. Bracing creates a really weird dynamic in your brain, This is for you girls. Personally, my doctor prescribed me a Boston Brace for 18 hours a day. I only wear that brace until I stop growing, now, 2 years post my mentraul cycle and I don't know if this is an uncommon opinion but...I really don't want my period. I mean, Who DOES? (Btw it's okay if you disagree, I'm not being a bully) But, wearing that everyday is hard and a lot of maintenance. So it creates this dynamic that you WANT your period because you rather get something done thats bound to come, and get the stupid brace over with! Anyways, thx for reading 💕💕

Wearing a scoliosis brace is difficult, like it’s SO FREAKING HOT IN THIS THING. I cannot explain the torture of summer covered in a plastic corset, it’s just so sweaty and uncomfortable. Not to mention that the padding irritates my skin. But, I’m sure if we put effort into wearing it, the results will come out pleasing!
Hi I have dextroscoliosis and the doctors said braces won't work if I'm going to use it cauz my bones is already matured. At what ages would braces work?
I don't know about boys, But I can help for girls. 2-3 years after starting your period for the first time is when bracing stops being an option and surgery to more likely. If you have a 15° curve or less, Surgery is unlikely necessary and therapy might do the trick (Please check with your doctor first, I'm not a professional) However, With a degree of 20° or more you may need surgery but surgery is really when your 25° or more and not growing. Your degree won't change drastically after your done growing but this is all my experience with lumbar scoliosis. (Again please check with a doctor, I'm not a professional)
