Vs the 49ers, two fumbled punt returns turned into 10 points including the game winning FG when Eli only crossed midfield 2 other times all game. Rodgers had one of his worst games of the year. So did Brady and Eli still needed lucky plays in the SB to pull out a last second win. If even an average Rodgers or Brady shows up, neither one of those games are winnable by the Giants. The same goes for 2007 against the Cowboys, Packer, and Patriots. In all those games, each QB had one of his worst games of the year and Eli still barely won. In fact, in the 2007 regular season, those same teams scored an average of 35 points against the Giants and then in the playoffs, not one of them scores more than 20 and that was because of Eli? Eli was literally a below average QB. His passer rating though his 16 years was lower than the NFL average 9 times. And 5 of those other 7 times, it was a mere 3.8 or less higher than the league average, or still just average. In only two years he was somewhat significantly higher than the NFL average. The second of four straight dominating performances by the 2011 Giants from the time they were 7-7. They simply steamrolled the Jets, Cowboys, Falcons and Packers in what had to have been their most impressive stretch of games since the Parcells era.
It’s wild how good the Giants defensive line was this year. The had Tuck, JPP, Kiwanuka, Canty AND Umenyiora. Absolutely stacked. Pretty much carried NY to the superbowl
My favorite season a NYG fan. Eli was killing it. Loved the offense; wish we had a semblance of this with the team today. Manning, the D-line, the contesred catch ability and the play calling. Chefs kiss
All you have to do is go back to week 14 where the Giants were down 34 to 29. With 2:25 left and essentially one time out, the Giants needed a stop on defense. Romo had Miles Austin wide open and he overthrew him, which gave New York the ball back. Eli goes down and scores and the Giants block a game tying field goal. This all led to this last game here. Big reason why the Giants won two Super Bowls because they got it done when it mattered and Dallas choked. Would continue to choke for 3 more seasons of 8-8 records and losing this and two more last season games to make the playoffs against the Giants, Redskins, and Eagles for the division and a playoff spot.
Tony Romo could not: - Stay on the field - Put up counting stats - Carry a bad team to the POs - Play well in elimination games He's been eligible for the HOF for 3 years and has yet to make it to the semi-finals. That says it all. Dallas stans. I'll ignore your replies.
Staying on the field is the only one your some what right about. Late in his career he couldn't. Tony romos 29 career game winning drives/ tying drives in the 4th/ot led all qbs in his career. He has the highest 4th quarter passer rating in nfl history. His 127 passer rating in the 2014 playoffs is the highest of any qb in the playoffs playing multiple games. His 144 passer rating in th3 Green bay playoff game he was robbed in is the highest passer rating of any qb to lose in the div round in nfl history. As for him not carrying bad teams....he had no defense and no online in his prime and never had a losing qb. And all you other fans know you feared him. He knocked off a 13-0 team. 9-0 team and multiple 5-0 teams. And hung 48 points 500 yards against thr number 1 pass defense and mvp qb ...AND STILL LOST. he should of won this division the first matchip when he led 34-22 with 4 minutes left and his defense couldnt make a stop. I can back up everything I say using StatMuse and Pro Football Reference. However I'll start off with this: learn the difference between your and you're. Now on to your diatribe. I'm only somewhat (BTW this is one word) right about TR missing games? He missed 37 games in a 10 year career - 37. His 29 GWDs and his 144 passer rating in one PO game does not make him clutch. He was 2-7 in elimination games with as many turnovers as TDs (not including his fumble in that Seattle PO game); he contributed to the 2 biggest blown leads in "Boys history; in 2006 with PO seeding on the line he had 6 TDs to 10 TOs in his final 5 games; in 2007, again with PO seeding on the line he had 1 TD to 5 TOs. in his final 3 games. Oh, that 500 yard game, you forgot to mention that he threw the game-ending interception. Also, those "bad' teams that you say he was on produced 60 Pro Bowlers, 12 All Pros, 2 All Decade members (both from his o-line) and 3 HOFers. In 2014, he had the best o-line in the NFL, a record breaking RB (Murray) and he threw the ball 20% less than the average QB. He should have (BTW not should of) won the division in 2011? Well in case you forgot he missed a wide open Miles Austin that would have clinched the game and he had 2 turnovers in the final game. Those teams would have won 4 games with Eli? Seriously, you don't know what you are talking about. Eli carried a much worse team to a 9-7 record. Don't bother to respond, I will not answer you until you educate yourself.
The crazy thing is Jason Garrett could win the NFC East by...you guess it...beating the Cowboys..how about that storyline..can really stick it to Jerry Jones
6:21 that maneuverability in the pocket to buy time by Romo was just a thing of beauty. Very Favre-ish (even thought it turned out to be an illegal forward pass)
The earlier match-up (week 14, I think; you posted it already) contained the very pivotal Romo TD misfire to Austin near the end of the game that likely would've sealed a Dallas victory. Within that scenario, the 2011 playoffs would've therefore progressed quite differently. That play is really ingrained in my memory...
This was one of the MANY times TR blew a big game for Dallas: 2006 - In his "Pro Bowl" year he had 12 turnovers to just 6 TDs in 6 of his final 7 games (the exception was his 5 TD game against NFL bottom feeder TB). including a 3 TO gm in the finale against Det with PO seeding on the line. Then before he fumbled away that PO game in Seattle, he completed just 4 of his 1st 12 passes with the only points until the end of the first half coming from a defensive TO and a rare 50 yd FG from Gramatica. 2007 in his final 3 games (with home-field adv on the line) 1 TD 5 INTs and just a 51% completion rate. 2008 finale with a PO spot on the line - a 0 TD 3 TO game in a 44-6 blowout loss to the Eagles. 2010 PO - a 0 TD 3 TO game in a 34-3 blowout loss to the Vikings. 2011 week 4 - throws 3 interceptions (2 pick-6s) leading to the largest collapse in Boys' history. 2012 finale loss to Wash (again with a PO spot on the line) - 2 TDs to 3 TOs. 2013- week 15 loss to Green Bay has 2 ints in the final 2:58 leading to the 2nd largest collapse in Boys' history. 2013 season finale for a PO spot - he's MIA b/c, as usual, he was injured. The only 2 playoff "wins" Romo had were when his D allowed just 14 points to the Eagles (while Dallas rushed for nearly 200 yds.) and when the D created three 2nd half TOs against the Lions. Romo had a ranking of 103 on Five Thirty-Eight's list of the most clutch PO QBs of All Time (Eli Manning was 1st). Also, Romo was not on Pro Football Reference's list of the Top 25 QBs of All Time (Eli Manning is). So, to sum up: Romo - is a perennially injured, epic choke artist; Eli is a clutch ironman and HOFer. The only way Romo is getting the HOF is if he buys a ticket. Dallas homers - I will ignore all replies (for those of you with limited IQs and reading comprehension skills, that means I will not read your response - you're wasting your time and you'll be blocked).

He was always scrambling for his life, poor man should have at least one ring.

Nah the giants defensive line used to be really good
Death, taxes, and Rob Ryan looking angry and flustered on the sideline as his D gets shredded.
So funny...so true
the ryan brothers supposed to learn their stuff from their old man.
Buddy was a great defensive coach! The sons- ok but not great; all talk but creative like Buddy was!
Can't spell Elite without Eli. 2X Superbowl MVP
16:49 is one of the greatest throws by Eli Manning
Wow Eli having time in the pocket, MetLife cheering out of control.. the good old days!!
This was the first of the cowboys 3 straight losses in the final game of the season for a winner takes the division situation
The Giants use to be fun to watch. A team of hard workers trying to do big things. Miss those days. One day they'll be back
I miss prime Eli so much, so underrated
Eli was literally a below average QB. His passer rating though his 16 years was lower than the NFL average 9 times. And 5 of those other 7 times, it was a mere 3.8 or less higher than the league average, or still just average. In only two years he was somewhat significantly higher than the NFL average. He wasn't that good.
@@tomknapp6194 😂😂😂
@@tomknapp6194 Hall of Famer
@@BackwardsHat Based upon what? If you come back with, "He had those 2 passes from 2 drives in 2 of his 246 games!" like every other Eli fan does, you have already lost. Eli was carried to 2 SB MVPs by the defense. His record vs playoff teams that scored 20 or less: 8-0. His record vs playoff teams that scored 21+: 0-4 and three of those were blowouts. He had to rely on 5 pro bowl QBs to have one of their worst games of the year for him to have have narrow last second wins. That is not the mark of a great or even good QB.
Eli is literally the beneficiary of headlines to make him sound great. But, when the stats are actually examined, it is all a smokescreen and he wasn't that good.
And if you do think that he is still great, how do you explain the fact that his passer rating was below average for over half his career?

Beating the Cowgirls... Gotta love it...
It's kind of funny how the giants are in the same situation this year in a must win game against dallas.. and yes, I know washington needs to lose also...go giants...go eagles..(I can't believe I'm saying THAT)..the eagles had better win
Manuel Ortiz I'm an Eagles fan but I'd rather have Team or Giants in the playoffs

And then after this, the 2nd best playoff run/cinderella run of all time occured by these giants!
Yeah, the defense and special teams really carried the Giants! There was that QB guy, but in 2007 and 2011, the Giants would have been eliminated many times with the guys that don't play as the same time as their QB.
We could see a 6-10 team make the playoffs this week
We will G men all the way
not just that but win their division!!!
First time in history having a losing team make and a double digit losses

This game already nostalgic
I loved this era of football i would be so excited on Sundays to watch greatness now I get excited but not as excited every Monday morning I would say I can’t wait till next Sunday that show you that football was entertaining back than
Giants D Line completely wrecking the game!!!!! LOVE IT 💙
I'm a Giants fan in 2024 and GOD I miss this Giants team so much..
If the Giants just have a SMALL fraction of this magic on Sunday, they might just be the NFC East champs again!
I miss the late 2000s to early 2010s giants so much
Ahhhhhhh look at the defense😭look at the run game and the pass game💔i wish the Giants beat the Cowboys this Sunday but who knows if we can even score
4:31 "3rd sack" in pretty much 1 quarter. I so miss those days. A pass rush and an O line.
I was at this game. Cowboys fans were awfully quiet in the tunnel back to lots🤣
Cruz was so big that year NBC had Salsa music ready to be played when he scored.
The NFC East is the most decorated division in all football.
I wanted to see Skip's reaction to that game.
Can you imagine the coach yelling at his grandchildren's father? Talk about keeping it in the family.
My favorite season a NYG fan. Eli was killing it. Loved the offense; wish we had a semblance of this with the team today. Manning, the D-line, the contesred catch ability and the play calling. Chefs kiss
Eli was so raw that year
All you have to do is go back to week 14 where the Giants were down 34 to 29.
Lol JPP and Brady are on the same team now lol
This just disturbed me to read
Tony Romo could not:
- Stay on the field
- Put up counting stats
- Carry a bad team to the POs
- Play well in elimination games
He's been eligible for the HOF for 3 years and has yet to make it to the semi-finals.
Those 8-8 dallas teams would win 4 games with Eli or dak. Ignoring replies means you know your wrong 😂
@@robogreek3157 Replies like this are the reason why I don't respond. You are obviously a "Boys homer - so, I'll show here how wrong you are.
This game is now officially 10 years old now. Unreal.
The crazy thing is Jason Garrett could win the NFC East by...you guess it...beating the Cowboys..how about that storyline..can really stick it to Jerry Jones

Victor Cruz was one of the best Giants receivers of all time
Laurent Robinson was a demon this season mad we didn’t keep him around
Always a good day wen u beat the cowboys
When watching giants football was exciting
6:21 that maneuverability in the pocket to buy time by Romo was just a thing of beauty. Very Favre-ish (even thought it turned out to be an illegal forward pass)
He had to learn how to do that given the horrible O Lines Jerry gave him
This win was the journey of the Giants to another Super Bowl
God I miss this team so much
I miss watching Victor Cruz play

I agree but both of those losses was the worse loss for the Cowboys in 2011 NFL season and it brings bad memories for me
Giants ripped apart Ryan brother defenses 2 weeks in a row en route to a championship run. I don’t think that detail is looked at enough if at all.

Your right
With all his greatness and perfection
The earlier match-up (week 14, I think; you posted it already) contained the very pivotal Romo TD misfire to Austin near the end of the game that likely would've sealed a Dallas victory. Within that scenario, the 2011 playoffs would've therefore progressed quite differently. That play is really ingrained in my memory...
That’s another great one! We posted that one too!

These Giants were much more dangerous than the 2007 squad. Eli and the offense were much scarier and that defense was still on that ridiculous level
2011?? Offensively Yes. Heck Yeah.
2007 Defense was better, Waaaay Better.
@@GRIMLOCK07time flies
This was one of the MANY times TR blew a big game for Dallas:
2006 - In his "Pro Bowl" year he had 12 turnovers to just 6 TDs in 6 of his final 7 games (the exception was his 5 TD game against NFL bottom feeder TB). including a 3 TO gm in the finale against Det with PO seeding on the line.
