I absolutely love this song. Honestly, it's one of Mac's best songs out there. I know it's a really simple song, but that's the beauty of it, and that guitar solo has got a lot of feeling. Love it.

Mac probably played about 8 notes that solo, still better than shredders playing every single note on the guitar and not making any coherent melodies

It is a simply perfect solo for this song, man. So much feel and energy comes through each note, and they are all deliberate. Since he is hanging onto a lot of notes for a few bars at times, it really gets him to milk those notes for all they're worth. He packs in a lot of emotion in this solo because of that. The very definition of "less is more."

No, Mac is just doing his own thing, a lot of people have slated this album but I think it's a fantastic new direction to take his sound too, a more mature approach to songwriting to a man who is starting to get older :))
