Holy shit. That was the tightest live Mac song I’ve ever heard
wertymerm he should have recorded with the band because there's so much missed opportunity having him do everything himself still. It'd be great to see him branch out cause this is the best it's been in a long while
NateGarciaArt this whole live set is bonkers! you‘re right.. he should include the band in the recording process, damn
@@mariusstene5149 Honestly I'd rather the album version sound like this. It's way more interesting and dynamic. It's not like we wouldn't get an acoustic demo that sounds like the studio version released on an eventual Here Comes The Cowboy demo cd. Then we'd have both, and both as studio recordings.
have you heard choo choo? fucking acid funk jams. i hope they do more like it.
The addition of Alec to the keys, leaving Jon to play bass is easily the best decision Mac has made with the band. Love Pierce and Pete, but there's no arguing that this band is infinitely tighter. Alec is a great player. And Jon has that groove down.
Mac’s voice was always nice, but I think it’s getting even better :)
I recently saw him in Brooklyn, when this song came on, I honestly thought nothing of it, but when he started singing... when he started saying “that don’t mean your dreams is over, that don’t make your heart beat slower” I started tearing up, like that’s true man, then we all started singing together as a crowd. It was an open venue and I looked up at the sky and I felt better. Keep going, yesterday is gone but we always got tomorrow
wish this were the album version
Just wait for "Here Comes The Cowboy Demos" to come out!!! We may get something like this
That solo at the end by Mac 👌
MAC IS BECOMING JAM HELL YA MORE GUITAR SOLOS
in my opinion this version is much better than the recorded version
Hope this is on the demos.
That guitar solo hits emotionally and physically very hard. PUT IT ON SPOTIFY PLEASE : )
1:33 if you’re looking to just replay the song part over and over
Still listening to this, fucking legendary guitar solo
I love that Mac gives you a reason to go to his shows. JUST SUCH GOOD LIVE PERFORMANCES AND VARIATIONS
Covering the nord piano 3 logo with a Yamaha dx7 lmao
yeah makes you think mac knows all the buzz around him , the new official videos dont allow comments he has no instagram etc. might be tiring for him.
Nope that's just Mac giving the ones who knows what's up a good laugh....he knows most the fuckers that are finding him "Sit in their bedrooms listening to Post Malone" and won't know what the fuck a dx7 is hahahah
@@MrT9822 I saw an interview where he said he didn't want people to know what synth he's using for his new sound
@@rodrigoluunaa funny u say that. Cuz me and the OP have no prob pointing out its a Nord. It's pretty obvious.
I’ve got the biggest, cheesiest, dumbest fukn grin on my head right now. This is bloody excellent, 11/10 Mr Demarco
This is THE BEEEEST VERSION
Not to say it's bad, but this is so much better than the studio version!
from what ive heard on his records in comparison to his live stuff, i feel like his studio versions are done super quick.
One man just enjoying playing his tunes, and boy it makes it something special.
Unlike most artists, Mac has evolved so well in a shitty time were most artists retreat to pop. I remember watvhing his old safe for work performance every night before going to sleep so much h different now but still just as good! Love u forever and always Mac bless you brotha!
@@LC-ik3we not really. This album is actually pretty far away from being pop, less electronic more acoustic. Maybe just u like pop
Surely you realize he's taken a song he wrote and in this performance channeled Darryl Hall, one of the biggest pop stars of an entire era... it's a great performance, but he is doing exactly what you're saying other artists do
Joseph Jimenez I hate some of these Mac fans bro. They don’t know anything about music but act like they found some rare holy grail in music. When in reality Mac is like the most popular indie artist out there
@@josephcjimenezphotography9543 I was talking about his new releases and the sound of them, not this performance. And yes of course the original was a pop version but I don't believe this cover is poppy at all. He redid the song in his own style
I love how Andy smiles at Mac at 3:57
I just can't believe it, love this version
I wish he'd generally go in a direction more similar to this
CornKing what do you think the point of recording that song is, he plays like this now, that’s how it be, he’s gonna keep playing like this being all happy like, that’s how mac works man he’s growing and going through phases just like anyone else but if you see him a certain way then he tends to stay like that and stay pretty true to that. if you’re talking about just the music then just from what’s happened in the past then he’ll probably perform this song like this again / many times.
It would definitely spice up his writing style a bit more. I think he could push his song writing further like this, but it seems like he has stuck to a similar writing method from the singles so far. I like Mac Demarco's style obviously so I enjoy the new songs but I cant help but feel he could put more into it.
Holy shit, that was incredible - i loved this version! So glad i discovered Mac recently :)
Go start back at rock and roll night club and work your way foward. Great experience
watching dude w the oxnard hoodie become a fan in real time...warms my heart.
This was amazing
We need a fucking official live version of this on all platforms.
Beautiful
I love the live version of this song!
This makes me very happy
Love this version!
they are one of the best live acts i have ever seen.
Watching Mac and his pals having fun experimenting these beautiful songs live is magical. Thanks for that video.
This sounds amazing
Zoowee Mama!
this is gonna be my new favorite mac song, the recording and it live. That solo fuckck
incredible,
can’t wait to see this version live
Oswald Barrett he didn’t play @ Columbus OH :( but hopefully they’ll play it soon enough again
this makes me happy
this gets me soooo amped up.
Anyone else feel Mac sound SO MUCH better live. Dk if it’s bad production/mixing on his albums or that he’s just such a presence live and his musics just better stripped back and raw
I like both versions
living the dream brother
Espectacular !!!!!
What an awesome surprise =)
thanks for sharing
This kinda got me hyped for the ticket I have to Hall & Oates this Summer here in Dublin!
I saw them in Cali in the 805....amazing show....John unfortunately didn't sing as much as I had hoped for....couldn't tell if it's cuz his voice is weak from years of smoking or if he's just too old to sing the same way he did hahaha but Daryl has never lost that voice of his!! Such a great show
@@parkerspoonlock7864 just cuz the piano sounds very similar to Hall and Oates...or Daryl Hall's Piano playing style...ill put some time stamps in a bit.....also u can tell this is way different then the studio version
Just goes to show you how much the crowd matters for the atmosphere of live music. This version is so damn fresh and tight, everyone seems thoroughly engaged from the drums kicking in at the beginning to that crazy solo and throughout. Yet the same group of talented guys go to Coachella, one of the biggest music festivals of recent years and.. well to be honest it doesn't even hold a candle to this.
Fuck, how could someone not love Mac, this video gives me life.
noooo, que hermoso
can’t wait to see this man live next month, they sound tight as fuck with this new sound
Damn that solo RIPS
The is closing material. Those guitar licks are the end are tastttty
for some reason this reminds me a lot of learning how to love you by george harrison
OMGGGGGGGGG THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
DAMNMMM
This version is so much more upbeat live, love both versions tho
I think this is much better in a live setting, but I do love the studio version when I'm on my own.
HELL YES:^)♥
That is literally his best and tightest song like holy fucking fuck
Also wow! What an arrangement, mac, why didn’t you record it like this????? - Samuel from NYC in the blue poncho
I wouldn't say I find it annoying, but I see no reason why he cant bring this charisma and that fuckin awesome riff he does at the end into the studio version! I love mac always, can't wait for the new record!
Uau, there aren't any dislikes. That does and doesn't surprise me.
holy shit this is better than the studio version and now i'm fucking pissed i missed this show
That shit was awesome!
pls put this version on album ty
4 peoples yesterdays haven't gone
There's a supertramp vibe !!
Totally!!! Maybe it's because of the piano sound. It's so reminiscent of the Wurlitzer piano they used to use.
Joaquín Velázquez they used Fender Rhodes !! Yes that the reason why ! So gooood sound !
@@quentinlegorrecmusic466 Uhmmm not to be a jerk or smth, but they used the Wurly, you can check that. Anyways they had an excellent sound!
We need this version recorded ASAP! FUCK.
1:59 ah yeeeeeah
Gave me fuckin chills man, gotta see mac live soon
Had me jammin
holy mother
so much better than the album version
fucking hell thank you so much for getting this
He does this at primavera 2019
this is fucking bomb.
fuckkk this is so good 100000x better than studio version
why doesn't he sound like that in the album? his voice is so angelical, it's so good and it's not the same in the album.
This live version is fucking 10x better than the studio version. The chorus with the staccato beats is soooo sweet.
Colin Caufield from DIIV on stage with mac :)
I love the studio version. But I'll be damned if I don't prefer this version
o my fucking god
why o why was it not recorded like this for the album
This was way fucking better than the live version they did on Fallon
That guitar solo at the end was 🔥🔥
To the guy that said it's better than the studio version - it's different.
That's how you make music. All of his ideas are right there, in his album, in his studio, out of his head. Now it's out there and when the band tunes in they can do whatever they want with it.
What a lot of folks don't seem to appreciate with Mac's songs is that he always keeps his vibe. He always epitomizes chill. Even if there are songs you hate and songs you like, there isn't a single Mac DeMarco song that doesn't work well for kicking up your feet, opening a beer and enjoying the sun. Or the moon. Or whatever.
Thank you for uploading this live. It's magic.
Well, its his opinion that its better. I also agree, I prefer this version better. Not that the recorded version is bad
Andai cd mac demarco di olshop indo banyak yang jual🙂
He makes very similar hand gestures to the guy from Future Islands.
big boy
The solo! Not a lot of notes, just the best ones.
This how the studio version should have been
Soccer moms and yoga instructors dawg lmao
Oliver Yesterdays hasn't gone anywhere he is always with us
