Memorizes the first 26 cards of the deck, False shuffle, divides the cards amongst the audience members exactly how he wants making sure that his memorized half isn't lost, picks the piles back up in the order he wants which automatically divides the piles into the two halfs he wants, gives them to the stage participants and they undo the "shuffle" done by the crowd as part of the trick. Looks at one of the piles to confirm that all the cards made it where they were supposed to be. Memorizing 26 cards is nothing. Ask any anatomy student.
It was just a simple force. He admitted he did a fake shuffle, and known for being able to count cards by weight. So by just splitting the deck he admitted to forcing into 4 equal piles and handing them out and then staking them on top of each other in order he knows already exactly what cards are in half. Then he just spilts it and fires off the cards he had as much time as he wanted to memorize (not 10 seconds) and does it fast so you don;t have time to put it altogether. Still impressive though
I don’t know how, but I’m sure Teller was not just an innocent spectator here. I watched their “Coding” clip where they showed how they can communicate/indicate non verbally. I still don’t know how this trick was done but as they say just about every time, they’re liars, swindlers, cheaters and crooks. Teller was in this somehow!
not really a deck switch was done here, when he turns his back to go back on stage and goes around the two audience members he knows the cards of that deck and the rest is automatically done

love this idea
Whenever a magician turns their back on the audience, you know there is work being done

I think this was a magic trick instead of a memorization trick.
he simply switched the deck after the shuffling. the new deck he had memorized the parts.
Very great theory, but i dont think a deck switch is necessary in this one.
