Best Intro ever. I just love how the intro actually sets the tone for the whole show. Like this isn't just another super hero fluff film. It never takes itself too seriously but there are still stakes and most importantly it's hilarious.
@@gradient5319 just binged the first two seasons. I'mma have to agree with you on the humor. "Peacemaker" is definitely funnier. Just not quite as dark or subtle. But "The Boys" seems a bit more realistic. If a super hero show CAN be realistic. I feel like "The Boys" shows more accurately how our society would get super powers and definitely shows how we would handle them. @@AdlerPostHC Yeah right, that's why TDK movies by Nolan and Joker are considered masterpieces, while Gunn's movies are just "fun". Peacemaker is proof that ANY comic character can shine with the right writers, directors, and actors. ☮️ Edit: Here’s hoping Season 2 is even better!!! ☮️
I would never think that I would care about Peacemaker and Vigilante. Just like I wouldn't think in a million years that Rocket Raccoon and Groot would be among my favorite characters in the MCU. James Gunn is a genius.
Love how some of the characters who wouldn't be caught dead doing this in the actual episodes have a serious expression on their face. Meanwhile characters like Vigilante looks like he's having the time of his life.
When Cena first started acting in movies I thought he was a bit stiff and started the transition too late. But the man has really come into his element! He's a really solid comedic actor.
I think he really just needed the right material. I just watched fast and furious 9, and while he's serviceable in that, the contrast between him getting practically nothing to do there, compared to the wealth of material he gets from gunn is night and day. Cena has absolutely risen to the occasion. Above and beyond.
Cena is definitely a goofy guy, I mean he was a WWE wrestler. I realize he has the look of an 80s action hero in the build but he's really not that good in serious roles. Absolutely kills it in comedic ones though.
That's the whole point, really. I've heard Shakespearean actors saying "if you can do comedy, you can do anything". And Cena has really grown as an actor. Some of the more dramatic scenes in this, especially when Peacemaker is wordless, he's done great. I think he's doing really well.
Same here.....the show is okay but this intro got something....something special....something addictive.....something amazing (well yeah, the dance moves, the music...), freakin'' love it, never skip it!
John Cena’s style of comedy is hilarious, he was brilliant in the suicide squad and he’s been brilliant in peacemaker I hope he gets more roles like this in the future
@@awildmoose6541 It dont matter if he didnt came up with the comedy. Its the execution that matters. Maybe it just seems that way because he's the only one whose face is hidden. Everyone else is stone faced. In fact, now that I think of it, he might just be grinning from ear to ear under that helmet and his dance energy matches. So, maybe!
@@jaegerwhatifs4679Yh I was going to say this but a taunt will not be enough so I think if you just defeat your opponent in MK1 without doing a fatality should be this with the song of course

I can't watch this enough. :D And it's everything - the serious expressions on all their faces (Lochlyn Munroe, especially!), the incongruous for the character moves, Keeya's deadpan bird flipping, everything!
This intro is close to my favorite part of the show. The first episode had me almost skipping it, but by the third I was trying to learn the dance. Also, John Cena's acting really has improved drastically over the years. Peacemaker is the perfect role for him
John Cena is really proving to have a great deal of range. For someone to take on such an outlandish role, play it absolutely straight, and still have the audience empathizing for him within three episodes...that takes a great deal of talent. Peacemaker could easily have been a one-note character, but Cena's making him so much more than that.
The actors have really shown their commitment to this show by keeping a straight face this entire dance 😂😂 I have not skipped it a single time and we're 6 episodes in.

My favorite part is at 1:20 when Eagley looks down, sees he's not on his mark and adjusts. It's subtle but it lends so much humanity to this CGI puppet. Pure gold. Kudos to whoever conceived and executed on this wonderful single second.
I'm going to give John Cena some major props. He's *FUNNY!* And he has a quality that I've only ever seen in Bruce Campbell. He can be a total a$$hole and still be insanely charming. Cena can also *nail a one liner* in the same fashion that Bruce can. This whole thing pivots off of him, and he's actually a *pretty good actor* and he's funny and he makes *fun of himself* and he's not afraid to hurt himself or hurt his image for a joke.

Best Intro ever. I just love how the intro actually sets the tone for the whole show. Like this isn't just another super hero fluff film. It never takes itself too seriously but there are still stakes and most importantly it's hilarious.
Best we got since The Boys. Not on that level, no, but best since The Boys.
@@codinghusky5196That's debatable. I like Peacemaker's humor a lot more than The Boys'
@@codinghusky5196 I've not seen the Boys. What's that one?
Edit: okay, I just watched a trailer. I'mma have to check this out.
It'd totally be all about profits, perception, control, scandal and cover-ups.
@@eddyb1596 i mean the boys have a way different view on the "superheroes"... While here we have DC
I love that the show knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to take itself too seriously and this intro encapsulates that perfectly. Bravo
Fr. Not every superhero thing needs to take themselves seriously. One of the biggest reasons James Gunn is one of my favorite superhero directors
James Gunn is basically teaching DC how to make good products
In my eyes, The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are it’s own DC universe.
@@AdlerPostHC Yeah right, that's why TDK movies by Nolan and Joker are considered masterpieces, while Gunn's movies are just "fun". The Nolan movies and Joker have more prestigious awards than any Gunn movie, those are the facts. If we're just talking TV, the Arrowverse dominated superhero television till a couple of years ago, so Gunn is not teaching DC anything.
@@SirMikelangelus i will be honest i dislike 2 thirds of nolans batman films and tdk was done well not my favorite take on the joker tho. Tone needs to match the story being told which is why age of ultron for instance is my most disliked mcu movie while infinity war is much better but this is all opinon. what james gun is doing is trying to match tone to the charecter and the story which is why the snyder cut worked better then the one directed by joss because the tone matched the story

Insane that a DC character only a handful of DC fans knew about now has one of the best DC shows with one of the best openings in media.

He’s drastically improved dramatically too! That closing shot of his face playing piano in the most recent episode was impressive
He's the only one that makes Trainwreck watchable
Cena is definitely a goofy guy, I mean he was a WWE wrestler. I realize he has the look of an 80s action hero in the build but he's really not that good in serious roles. Absolutely kills it in comedic ones though.
That's the whole point, really. I've heard Shakespearean actors saying "if you can do comedy, you can do anything". And Cena has really grown as an actor. Some of the more dramatic scenes in this, especially when Peacemaker is wordless, he's done great.
I think he's doing really well.

John Cena is really proving to have a great deal of range. For someone to take on such an outlandish role, play it absolutely straight, and still have the audience empathizing for him within three episodes...that takes a great deal of talent.
