Thanks guys 💚💚💚
Love your work with Nik. Absolutely gnarly. Thank you
You deserve a S spot for me Man for real
You're S tier in my heart, Andy.
i fucking love you as a vocalist man. you have my absolute respect andy and are one of my biggest influences vocally
Eyyy my boy
Howard Jones is absolutely, undoubtedly, definitely fuckin S-tier
Without a doubt.
FUCKIN YES DUDE
Speaking of.. can't wait for more SION music to be released
Top 5 metalcore vocalist ever undisputed
I didn't realize Howard is 51 until this video. Holy hell, that's so insane. What a monster of a vocalist
chris Motionless has done so much stuff with his voice, from different types of scream, to flat out sounding like multiple different people on his singing voice, the dude's definitely an A
Oh hell yeah and his plain false chord and clean singing are definitely top fucking notch great range for a baritone/tenor and his false chord technique is almost perfect.
I'd push him to even an S tier, but maybe I'm biased due to my absolute love for MiW, but dude has so much passion in both his screams and clean vocals. His clean singing is not talked about enough. Dude can SING!! I was swept off my feet hearing catharsis for the first time. His clean vocals alone get him to A tier but his great screams get him to S tier for me.
Spencer Charnas is probably one of the best vocalists in the genre rn. Hes got to be on here.
Amen! And he sounds fucking the same live! Most vocalists can only get “that sound” on recordings, but hes incredible
@@v_rapture_v damn right
@@v_rapture_v he is so fucking amazing live. When crowd surfing and being tossed around, he still sounded good
i personally like chris motionless's voice more but i like spencer too
Garret Russell of Silent Planet has to be my absolute favorite vocalist, his unique sound and the emotions and power he brings just blast me.
ME TOO BRO
Definitely my favorite metalcore exclusive vocalist (there are some I like more in the deathcore/death metal space, but that's just my personal preference).
His lows are ridiculous too
Garrett is sooooo underrated. He’s also an amazing human being
Ryo Kinoshita from Crystal Lake is my favorite Metalcore vocalist. He has such an aggressive energy and is versatile.
His word pronunciation is also really good too, even with all that aggressive energy. You can always understand what he's saying.
I think the same, I love that band.
@@sebastianmjsmjs4877 same
He is sooooo good!
What did you think of Curse and Mephisto ? I love them both
"part 2 later this week"
1 month later: Still waiting
The boys are back in town, ngl I'm waiting for Bury Tomorrow's Dani Winter-Bates to get on this list
Same! Dan is my boy
He's fuckin talented Cannibal was awesome
DAN IS A BEAST! He definitely deserves S tier
I’m gunna miss his voice in Bury Tomorrow 😔
@@BodyBag_Gaming He's still in Bury Tomorrow
Metalcore vocalists are pretty good, but I've been into Deathcore a bit more recently and with Lorna Shore's new vocalist Will Ramos I've been blown away.
YES. Will is from hell lololol
Chris Roether from Like Moths To Flames is EXTREMELY underrated, he got good lows, pretty angry and emotional mids, and really good highs (despite not using them very much)
And he's an awesome singer and lyricist too, he's a complete vocalist.
Literally my favorite video's you guys make is the top 10 vocalists, tier list of vocalists etc. Can't wait to watch this when I get get home
Finally some credit for Chris Motionless,
his vocals are SICK, especially the ones on Infamous!
So excited for MIWs new album!!!
thank y'all for this video, I really like Metalcore and struggled to find bands I really liked and this tier list helped me out a lot, much appreciated
Really enjoyed this. Looking forward to Pt.2
I am so happy right now that there is a new dickey dines episode doink yes bro!
Thank you for this list! I have been into late 90s and early 2000's metal ignoring all core. For the last 2 years now I have finally broadened my thoughts and have gravitated to at least metalcore and deathcore. This helps alot. I find your list for what I do know to be accurate so I know what to expect with what I'm not familiar with.
Man this list was massive nostalgia for me, some of these vocalists I haven’t heard in a good min. I remember for a while Danny Leal was probably my favorite vocalist for the reasons you guys mentioned.
I’ve been waiting for this!!!
Finally!! Let’s gooo been waiting for this video for so long 🤣
I hope Tatiana Shmailyuk from Jinjer will be on this list
They arent really metalcore.
Oh this is one I've been waiting for since the deathcore tier list. It's always a good day when DickeyDines uploads.
Woof! A new DickeyDines episode!
Nutttttttt glad you’re back, missed your shit 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'd love to see something like this with guitarists or bassists or drummers!
thank god you guys are back. i needed you. i missed you.
Much love Brothas! Keep doing what you do!
Glad to see you guys back!
Just started, Wonder if Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills is in this list
My first thought too!
Same
He's definitely one of the better ones.
Screams are freaking good especially the lows
Cleans are exceptional.
And even his live vocals hold up
Also my first thought. Dude is a beast
feel like he will definitely be S or high A
Waiting for part two later this week.
I thought for sure Ryan Kirby and Garrett would make high A or S, but there's a ton of vocalists I'd love to see ranked. It's good to have more dickeydines content tho
Same, new Garret is easily high A imo
Garret's lyrics are S tier alone.
Brian Wille of Currents is the Man !!
Just saw them live last weekend and I was blown away by the dude’s lows and his energy on stage. They only had half an hour to play before Escape The Fate and INK. If INK hadn’t been the headlining show I would have probably been more upset than I was lol.
I'm living for everything Chris Motionless! He is amazing and damn his growth over the years. Also Caleb Shomo is a beast.
Great list.
I'm really happy that you included Caleb in this list 'cause he is such a great, unique sounding vocalist 🤘
A couple years ago I saw August Burns Red live again and that dude has stepped it up big time. I know hes known more as kind of a one trick pony who just has all-time great mids without much else but his lows were gnarly, his highs were totally passable, and his sung yells sounded epic. He just has so much more power than most live metalcore vocalists and now hes added more versatility.
I watched this video knowing nothing about Spiritbox. I now love Spiritbox. Thanks, Austin, thanks, Jared.
Howard Jones KSE era 👑 of metalcore.
Can't wait for the Sion videos, any chance we could get the release date
GIVE PART 2 WITH OGs LIKE DANNY AND OLI
Glad to see the boys!
Theres alot of these bands I havent listened to, but im here to learn about something new potentially
So hype y’all are back! Btw Spiritbox and Courtney are off the charts. She has crazy singing power with so much talent in different genres, from iwrestledabearonce to now, with Spiritbox, it’s awesome to see her evolve! Definitely one of my new favorite bands the last few years! And biased or not Howard Jones deserves SS tier. Such a legend!
Do yourself a favour and check out her band before IWABO called Unicron. There’s a couple music videos, live videos and album tracks on youtube.
@@bradkohl99 yea I’ve heard it. It’s totally cool too. Like I said it’s awesome to see how she has evolved over the years. Just keeps getting better and better!
Where’s pt 2???
I have a few people that I think would be important to a list like this.
Keith Buckley from ETID has some of the best lyrics in the game and killer mids and lows. Cleans are great too.
Jeffery Moreira from Poison The Well was one of the first people to perfect metalcore vocals. By the time “You Come Before You” came out, he presented some of the best lows and cleans in the style
Tf guys, where’s part 2???
Kinda bummed Brian from Currents wasn't on here, but I'm excited to see what you guys rank Jake Luhrs, if you have him on here. (Would be a crime if you didn't.) 🤣
Dude's an S or A for sure 😌 He can deliver both brutal and emotional vocals really well. Also, he's an amazing Clean vocalist too
One of my favorites
I was waiting for currents too, great singing and screams
They got me out of a depression along with other artists, so they hold a special place in my heart@@PitaTenShia
Been coming back to the channel every week in case I've somehow missed part 2, but I'm starting to think it's locked in a vault at area 51 or something
You guys should do Nu-Metal vocalists, from back in the day
Fred Durst #1
@@ac-130fan fuck no😂
Jonathan Davis #1
@@ac-130fan Fuck that, Jonathan Davis is #1
Honestly thats where Chad gray should be not in a metalcore tier list
Can't wait for Pt. 2 Next month lol 😜
Just starting and I swear to god Brendan Murphy better be on here and high tier
Hoping for some aussie love. Mainly Jamie from polaris and Jacob from thornhill. They are both extremely talented
Northlane, Make Them Suffer, Polaris, Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction are in the playlist. No Thornhill though :(
Thornhill >
Jacob from Thornhill has absurd vocal range. Not the biggest fan of his screams but his cleans are unmatched IMO. Such a talented dude.
@@simplesimonh123 yeah he's got a lot to work on for live performing. But in the studio i think he's up there with some of the best. Not bad for a guy that only wanted to be a guitarist for the band.
Too many big Aussie Core bands to not name any
Missed you guys
Looking for a video to watch while shaving, perfect timing
Hey guys! Could you please put the names/bands in the corner of these videos so that we know who you're talking about? Thanks, and excited for Part 2!
I need part 2!!
Chad Grey? WTF? I love him and Mudvayne, but it's a fucking new metal band, we all know that...
2003 is new?
@@kishredbird3599 I think they mean nu metal
Yeah Mudvayne's no metalcore.
Dude im so exited for more music from SION
Chris motionless is my favorite along with Spencer of ice nine kills
It would be soooo amazing to hear how the vocalists sound. Just for the people who dont know them and it would make the video more "colorful" acoustic wise.
For some reason, I’d love to see you guys react to “female fronted” metal bands and rank them, not even just bands like Jinjer or Arch Enemy (or Spiritbox) but even bands like Epica and Nightwish.
Brendan Murphy from Counterparts and END, Jacob Bannon of Converge, Keith Buckley from Every Time I Die, and Karl Schubach of Misery Signals are all my favorite metalcore vocalists.
Do they rate Keith?
Keith Buckley and Karl Schubach are my all time absolute favourite vocalists. Do like Jacob Bannon too.
MISSED U GUYS!!!!
I am/was a big fan of Mudvayne and Chad when i was younger but i agree with you. TOO many new guys in the Metalcore scene that are insane vocalists
One of my favorite in the scene has got to be Sean McColluch from Phinehas. Maybe I’m riding a Phinehas wave since their album just came out. But I was absolutely blown away by his performance on it, as well as his whole career with Phinehas
Can't wait to see which tier ma boi Winston McCall landed on...
Spencer Charnas and Sam Carter better be S or we riot
I don’t even think it’s biased when it comes to Howard Jones. He’s absolutely that damn good at what he does. Also, Jared’s got me hyped for what we’ll be hearing soon.
Seeing where you guys would put Spencer Charness from Ice Nine kills would be interesting
I would've put Mabbitt a little higher in the tier. His screams in his Dead Rabbitts side project are great. You can tell he's growing and getting much more versatile with his screams. A couple songs sound like he's going Deathcore.
100% agree with you. I might be a little biased because I love the early blessthefall stuff lol
Mabbitt is just totally underrated. When he left Bless the Fall, he lost some fans. People didn't even know he took over for Ronnie Radke in Escape the Fate at the beginning. Then came the scene drama between the Craig fans and Ronnie fans. In that case, he lost a lot of fans simply over drama. Then Craig's fans complain that they want heavier music from him to revive his Bless the Fall days. He gives them The Dead Rabbitts as a substitute, and more than half of the fans don't know who the Fuck The Dead Rabbitts are. How much more can Craig give to these people? There aren't that many Escape the Fate fans anymore since the scene arguments. Those who hung on, only became discouraged with the music once Monty Money left. That's why I say Craig's underrated and deserves a better shot. His singing vocals are great. His screams are only getting better.
100% agree. Criminally underrated.
@@JoaoLucas-ju4gh ayee his last walk was great famo
@@rnrucci4596 but hollow bodies the best, huh?
Sick list. Although it seems there were a few missing that definitely should have been mentioned.
I hope Jesse Leach is included and at least B tier. He’s S tier for me, but he’s overshadowed by Howard 😭
Don’t worry I couldn’t do killswitch dirty and not add Jesse! He’s in part two :)
Jesse is S tier for me. Howard is too, even though I think Jesse's screams are better, those cleans can't be beat. Jesse's cleans are amazing too though, they've improved so much.
@@Dickey7861 I don’t think I could ever choose between the two. I love them both. Also to add Jesse has been getting noticeably better technique wise too
@@The_JustJoshing Agree 100% with everything you said
Honestly I enjoy jessie more than howard Howard's cleans are amazing but overall Jessie's cleans are super good and his screams are better
Yesssss they back
I've waited for this
I just played a show with Craig's other band Dead Rabbits and honestly I was super impressed because I usually feel like you guys do about his vocals. My opinion on escape the fate remains the same, but Craig as a vocalist could actually be higher and it wouldn't be wrong. But good shit for real though, this is a good list
Should include Spencer Charnas in the next part
Andy Cizek is S tier tbh. Dude has crazy good range in both screams and cleans. If that’s not S tier, Idk what is
Totally agree dude. They did Andy dirty lol.
idk guys, like I love andy's vocals however I agree with them, I see why but that's also my opinion
Poor Danny, from core to country😔😂
I’d like to add that I thought Alone Again was dope
DONT DARE SAY THAT TRAITOR TO METALS NAME
@@just_ty88 WRONG it was pop noise trash
@@Arrow8D Wow… I disagree but aight u do u
@@Arrow8D wow you need to chill
Some names for Part two: Spencer Charnas, Spencer Sotello, Spencer Chamberlain, Ryo (crystal lake), Oliver Sykes, Sam Carter, Tyler Dennan, Garret Rapp, Danny Worsnop, Andy Leo, Lou Miceli Jr., Daniel Glaily, Jamie Hails, Bryan Gaulle, Jake Luhrs, J.T Cavey, Trevor Wentworth! Love the list, would have put Ryan Kirby between Chris & Andy in A. Other than that I think you're spot on.
Love you guys, always worth dropping whatever I'm doing to watch your videos. Including work, even if I get bitched out, oh well
I'm waiting to see if Spencer from Ice Nine Kills is rated because I really want to see where they put him. Really enjoy watching these tier lists
easily a
I think he is - Assault & Batteries was on the linked playlist
Courtney Laplonte’s abilities in two songs. Gift of Death and Circle with me ❤️ such a goddess!
love this episode as i am a core kid too! this also gave me an opportunity to check out the works of the other bands mentioned here. thank you for another great episode, dickeydines! can’t wait for part 2~
For sure, definitely opening me up to a few new bands, and loving to see their opinions on vocalists i love
*"We are gonna put liquids of various viscosities and lick them off slowly"*
Misleading title, but I'm here for it
In the next part I'd love to see Noah Sebastian from Bad Omens, Ryo from Crystal Lake, Spencer from INK and Florent Salvati from Landmvrks
Return of the kings!
Still waitin on part 2
after the first couple i realized i was waiting for you to bring up Justin Bonitz. you better show him some love if you do a part 2. he's been doing some impressive things with Tallah. i personally would put him at a mid to high A with Tallah. knowing what he's capable of with all of his own music. he's an S tier.
It’s Dickeydines time baby!!
I guess we ain’t getting part 2 huh?
think they have forgotten about making funny stuff on this channel
Nice to see you guys back! Now do a video about a genre of metal that doesn't have "core" or "grind" stuck on the end of it for all the REAL metal fans!!!
LOL just kidding. You guys are great. Always like your videos. You guys never fail to entertain.
Sam Carter has to be my favorite vocalist.
how was architects not on this list??
@@yballaw2714 yeah really lol
@@yballaw2714 part 2 is up now!
@@natec4743 yeah sam carter was on it but spencer chat as wasn’t, and eddie berg wasn’t
@@yballaw2714 spencer charnas is a huge miss
Edit: nvm there are more parts coming
I mean... Danny has shown that he can do metal vocals really well still. I know this was a little while back, but listen to Stare at the Sun by The World Alive. Danny's vocals I'd say were at least on par with Briton Bond's vocals.
You should also include previous vocalist. Such as Austin Carlile and Jimmie Strimell
great shit.
I was fully in agreement until Kirby... Jared literally said it "he is the pinnacle of the metalcore sound". That's an instant S tier imo
REALLY underrated vocalist Alex Anglis of Before I Turn. They really hit their stride with Claustrophobic I think, and his vocals are just pure insanity.
I listened to Lovelorn for the first time a couple months ago and fell in love with the band. Need to check out their older stuff fr
I think Ryan from Fit For A King is at least A or S tier. He can sing clean pretty well, has an insane vocal range especially when it comes to screams/growls, plus he can hold a scream for like 25 seconds live, which is pretty hard to do 😂
Chad's singing is on point and his high screams are fucking great. Also his ability to scream in melodic tones while hitting actual notes is super good. I'd say his range is top notch. He deserves at LEAST an A. Just my opinion. If you're basing it just on tracks like Dig, which I love, I could see what you mean. But going from that to something like their song Happy, really shows crazy range. Or even World So Cold.
Caleb shomo will be S tier someday.
Not sure if Spencer Chamberlin or Aaron will be on here since Underoath kinda of dabble’s into different genres but Spencers Screams are unmatched imo.
Spencer is on the list in part two!
anddddd they’re back
Wonder if there’ll be like a “Misc. Vocalist” tier list. For bands that don’t squarely fit in one category such as Igorrr or Dir en grey
Or BTBAM
Or Kardashev (Mark Garrett is a beast with low growls and nasty highs and he has arguably the best clean voice in metal, definitely my favorite).
