    Thank you for this video much appreciated. Same problem on my 2014 Sri 1.6 Australian Holden Cruze. I had a leak from the return hose that is some weak plastic part at first...
    The thermostat housing then or also is leaking. Ordering replacement part soon. 👍🏽 Clearly a useless factory part, it is ridiculous not like coolant is important or anything 😂😂

    Your videos rock. My Cruze has sprung its 3rd coolant leak in 18 months, all in different places and your videos have helped me fix the previous 2. The current leak is around the thermostat housing. My question is do you recommend another part manufacturer besides Dorman. I can get a replacement part from my local parts store but they don't have the Dorman in stock and I'd rather get this fixed asap. I'm seeing Duralast, Motorad and Sant. Thanks for your advice and your videos! Also, would you recommend replacing the radiator hoses connected to the thermostat (since your in there already) or do they tend to last a good long while?

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching & that’s a great question. Duralast is the AutoZone house brand & we definitely recommend it. Duralast shouldn’t let you down. As far as the hose, if it’s not what’s causing your leak, we would keep it “employed”.

    Mike I have the same car its a 2015 Cruze LTZ and it just started leaking the other night but its down under the water pump area , it never over heated on the way home and didnt know until i got out of the car to get the food out of the trunk and saw a long trail of coolant up the driveway and looked under the hood and saw it all soaked down under the water pump .. i have to take it up the street to the car fixer place , if its not the water pump what else is in that area under there that would leak .. car has 50k miles on it .. more stressss

      Good morning Joe, that’s a bummer. It’s likely it’s the water pump if it’s in that location.
      We would also recommend contacting your local Chevy dealership and seeing if your Cruze qualifies for a 100% free water pump replacement.
      The water pump is a GM recalled part and it’s possible that your car will qualify however it’s important to keep in mind that not all Cruzes qualify…but definitely worth a shot.
      Either way, we are interested in hearing back from you on what the mechanic finds.
      For your familiarity, we have attached a link to our pump replacement video.

But now the radiator fan only turns on when the heater is turned on. Would that be a relay issue? Thanks in advance!

      We have talked to many Cruze owners and they have ran into the same situation you are in. Before looking into replacing any additional parts, we recommend the test drive to allow your engine to have a better opportunity to get up to normal operating temps.
