Brother, this is one of those musics you will never hear again the same way once you know what's happening, and also one of those musics that is so genuinely good with MORE THAN 3 songs references that becomes a rare gem.
I know this is an alternate soundtracks edition, but it is a work of art in its own right. A work at least for my taste with exaggerated level, whether intentional or a moment of inspiration, you have made it one of my favorite OST. Incredible work and masterpiece. Best regards.
yeah s&k alternate has changed quite the bit in the span of about over half a year now, even the reasons why i made this soundtrack changed despite knowing very well that i started this because i was inspired to do an alt ost from woofle/ leila wilson with s3 alternate but then it went to, "because i wanted to", "because i have never finished a personal project before", " because people like to think that the sega genesis/ mega drive is only capable of doing sonic music" yadda yadda whatever still though, i don't often get comments similar to this so this is very much appreciated. thank you

i know that "the toilet lock is stuck ultra deluxe edition" is just a joke, but i honestly feel like it still fits even. the way the beginning is pretty much the same as the original the toilet lock is stuck, and then it evolves into something way more. it truly feels like the ultimate version of it, which, well, fits extremely well for being the climax of sonic 3 and knuckles. basically, song good, me like a lot

@@johntayjinf If I were responsible for implementing it, I'd probably try to cut the song into two sequences, and have a loop for the start until 4:00 (in case you're just really bad at Doomsday yet still have enough rings lol) and then play the 4:01 - 4:25 until you've defeated Eggman, then play the vocal portion as a transition between the final boss and the ending theme

@@sol2457 i personally interpret that part as to after defeating the first blue death egg robot, sonic manages to find robotnik on coincidence as he lets out a sigh of relief and starts to collect his feelings the way i play that part is to not to rush and stay back for a bit until i get ~50 rings and then i start attacking again, so it makes some sort of sense for it to be more hyped up after the more calmer bridge

Ok so I thought of a story that fits pretty well. So here's the story: At the beginning of the song, Sonic is chasing Eggman on that crumbling platform from the end of S&K. As the platform completely crumbles, sonic doesn't know what to do. But then he remembers his mission. As he harnesses his full power, he transforms into hyper sonic. As he destroys Eggman first line of defense. His life flashes before his eyes. He remembers as a child, he wanted to defeat dr eggman. he remembered meeting tails and amy, befriend knuckles his adventure on angel island. and then every mobian on mobius is blinded by a bright white sky. they see the death egg crashing into the ocean. and then, they see a HUGE green glow in the sky. and then a green glowing streak keeps circling the sky. and then, sonic slowly descends towards tails and knuckles. their mission was complete. they saved the world from being a ruined, Metallic mess being lead by dr eggman. they won. for now... (then sonic 4 ep 1 happens.)

@@jaywarudo Theoretically possible if you had a driver which implements 4 PCM channels with pitch adjustment in software. Toy Story pulled it off (and even games like Ristar had 2 software PCM channels), though I'm not sure how well that'd work with game logic running at the same time.
I feel like this would be the theme that plays as dark sonic or a boss battle involving him if that was in a classic sonic game. Also just know that this is an absolute masterpiece and I listen to it almost constantly. It fills me with energy like no other song I've ever heard and I love it so so much!!!

A lot of the S&K alternate soundtrack fits so well, but it’s hard to overestimate how damn well this captures that same feeling of complete and utter urgency that the original Doomsday song did. I can see the battle playing out in my head, it’s that good. I want to make a Sonic 3 A.I.R mod that puts this in, or at least an animatic of this zone on its own. It’s one of those songs that gets me so creatively fired up, and I think you did an amazing job with this whole game’s soundtrack. Hope you get to enjoy other projects and keep making amazing music!
*This fixes the problems I had with this original Doomsday Theme, it did not sound anything like A final boss theme and makes me think the Big Arms theme and Doomsday were accidentally swapped. This actually sounds like A final boss theme!*
I personally like the interpretation that Doomsday zone’s theme is ment to represent Hyper Sonic rather than Eggman. Eggman’s already had his plan ruined, and the entire fight is him desperately trying to run away from Sonic, throwing everything he has to slow him down.
I'm relatively new to music. Started like, a year ago. This song made me want to up my arrangement game SO bad. I don't do good at arranging myself- I practice somewhat, but this song is just on a different level. I cant even begin to imagine how you would arrange this from the ground up, and I've tried recreating it (poorly) in fl studio using the notes in furnace tracker as a base (it didnt go well). This song is genuinely so good that it made me want to get better at arranging singlehandedly. 10/10.
To be honest, it seems this song hits more of a Sonic is in Thunderforce kind of feel as it almost fits. Imagine if Sonic had to fly with the Rynex to chase Dr.Eggman using a Vasteel Dragon?

Sonic's not stopping at DEZ Act 2.5 (Known as Act X in Level Select due to it being a sub-act for the 'final boss'), so he's gone hyper (Or super if you only have 7 emeralds) and is chasing the fat egg through the Doomsday Zone. The song gives you a feeling of power, determination, and hope. Not just because you're Super/Hyper Sonic, but because this is the last zone and act in the game and you need to give it your all. If it didn't work for Doomsday Zone, the super theme slot would be runner-up. BUT IT WORKED FOR THE LAST ZONE OF THE GAME, SO SHUT YO PIEHOLES, HATERS. John, you outdid yourself here! Keep it up!
