Saved the day Jimmy 👍 how many times do Good mechanics fix the jobs poor mechanics mess up ? We used to call one bloke Boomerang as every thing he touched came back to him.
FERRARI factory trained mechanic who was also HONDA factory trained, changed cologne v6 engine in his cortina for another cologne v6 and COULD NOT GET IT TO START. - ignition timing was out. he also COULD NOT REMOVE GEARBOX on an inspection pit to FIT CLUTCH. NOBODY EVER TRAINED ME and i did both for him.
I did DPF clean with Motip product, it lasted for about 1000km before the insane normal DPF regeneration started again and again, DPF regen starts after every 40 km drive. Now I recognized one of my glow plug is faulty that can lead to long and frequent DPF regeneration based on LM Auto Repair channel. Thanks to you, I was able to remove the glow plugs without any issue using your recommendation to be the engine HOT and use some lubes on the thread advanced :) THANK YOU! I saved lots of money by doing it DIY way on my wife's old(14 yrs) car. Suzuki Swift 1,3DDis
Took my Jag DPF unit off and took it to a professional cleaning company. They let me watch one being cleaned which was very interesting. Cost me £130. No problems after cleaning. Cost of new replacement was over £1000 so well worth it.
Compression, ignition and fuel, that's all you needed in the good old days. The only gauges , fuel gauge , speedo. Warning lights, oil pressure and indicator. What happened.
Hiya mate, where did you get the tapered end on your dpf gun? The tube for my launch uk dpf gun is just a small straight end, just wondered if you had changed the tapered piece. I saw the jlm dpf gun has a similar tube to what I’m looking after
I’ve currently got DPF issues with my Juke. The garage has cleaned it twice, replaced the hose, pipe and pressure sensor but it is still limited with an engine management light on the dash. I’ve been told that the DPF might have collapsed but there is no soot coming from the exhaust or any off sounds while driving. Any pointers before I shell out for a new DPF?
@@Simulacra001 They won't know since the DPF box looks the same after they weld it back together. Needs a long hard drive with Wynn's snake oil to pass the emissions test though.
Hi Jimmy, is your Crafter the 2.5 tdi(5cyl with adblue)? Just a bit of advice if you have 30 seconds to give me some, I have a p2bad regularly and need to clean the adblue injector as it crystallizes up due to low mileage... do you have any recommendations please sir? Keep up the great vids, very instructive
Personally as a mechanic, I remove dpf,s and let them soak over nt, the prob is, the ash removal, at the end of these process's good insitu clean though 👍
You said about making the DPF cleaner foam up is important, is that just for the DPF insert side or air-box side just after the mass too? Q: can you please do a video on just that something like ( DPF NO1 CLEANING MISTAKE ) and show what is good foam and what is bad, and when you can and can't use foam because I see you using just pressure spay in lots of air pipes so would be nice to know this information and the cheap way and easy way of doing it maybe show it in a bucket side by side. I think all the DIY guys and people like me would love that one Mr O'Riley. Thank you.
Jim I’ve been ripped off a couple of times when mechanic has failed to sort the DPF issue. The cleaning process you have just done seems quite easy. Could I do this cleaning process every so often to prevent the build up of soot and the vehicle going into limp mode? Would this help or not.
It will stay clean on its own if all the systems on the car work like they should and you normally drive the car for at least half an hour once or twice a week. Only doing short trips is a killer. A lot of things on the car will cause the DPF to not regen too. Glow plugs, vaporizer (for newer cars), additive tank level and pump, EGR and there's probably more that I'm forgetting. Basically if any tiny thing is having a fit it can cause the system to not run normal regens like it should. Even things that seem completely unrelated like outside air temperature. Usually the car won't show any fault indication to the user until it's too late as many of these faults don't turn on any warning lights.
would some kind soul please link me to jimmys video showing the pressure bottle hose trick, its all i have to inject the fliud so need all the help i can get to have the foaming action happen...cheers guys
Jimmy's obviously a great mechanic and good at what he does, but everyone who's slating the mechanic and calling them rip off merchants who tried fixing their cars before Jimmy are wrong! If it's collapsed then you might want to consider having it taken out then mapped out, coastwise it would possibly be quite a bit cheaper
Just get it chopped out and re mapped
