      Sweetwater would you recommend the P125 instead for 1/3 of extra cost? I am in Europe and can find the P45 for 380EUR the P125 for 530EUR. It is for 4 months practice of a 6 years old after we will move back to asia and once every couple of years come back for an other 2-3 months. Would you say better get the P45 as more the enough? Any difference in the keys feelings and hammer action among the two? Thank you.

      Agreed! My Yamaha P-45 never sounds this good when I, in comparison, plunk away at it! I wonder if he's the new keyboard video expert for which Sweetwater was recently advertising a position. If so, they made an excellent choice.
      EDIT: Congratulations to all the recent new hires at Sweetwater, including "Keyboard Artist and Content Specialist" Erskine Hawkins-quite a résumé! 😃

    To all the people looking for the song @3:40 its not a song. Its his own creativity. You can all make your own pieces if you put your mind into it and create something that suits your taste. Creating something can be hard. But if you really explore more with the piano, you will eventually find your own song. 😁👍❤

      I think they also slap lots of buttons on some models to sucker in people who don’t know anything about pianos or playing music and figure that one with a lot of buttons has to be better than one without. In fact I got my first keyboard this way - a friend gave me her old Yamaha YPG625, a model with a million buttons and a screen like on a computer (she never used it because of arthritis), she said she’d bought the one with all the buttons because she thought that meant it could do more professional musician things.

    The sustain pedal isn't very good but I am thrilled with my P45. I've always been a snob about acoustic pianos but living in the city my neighbors got the final word: play with headphones at night! I came back to the piano after not playing for ten years and I wasn't sure that I would stick with it and didn't want to spend a lot. This was a great choice and I doubt that I will outgrow it anytime soon. Great review.

      Apologies my online friends!! My girlfriend and I just bought our first home and I have a dedicated music room!!!! Piano will be getting added shortly. I actually bought a P-45 shortly after making my original post but my living situation at the time made it too difficult to play. It took a lot of maneuvering and setting up to play so it ended up being more of an inconvenience than anything. But I found a great app on my phone for learning to read music, and the P-45 actually feels really really nice! The weighted keys were awesome and the size is pretty nice! Unfortunately I sold that one because of these issues, but I will be getting another for sure!

    Im no professional piano player but ive owned this keyboard for 4 years and it is still going strong and sounds like the day i plugged it in. I love it. Simple design and is great for those who just really want to get down to playing without having a thousand new functions to learn. No beats to choose from. Just a metronome and 88 keys to create what you wish. Also great for teachers who have classes for learning players. The weighted keys along with sustain pedal really create a unique and authentic playing experience as well. If you are on the fence about purchasing this, give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Plus the Yamaha name is behind it and having owned many yamaha instruments i can assure you, they build quality products.

    • @mikemusic7306
      @mikemusic7306 6 років тому +3

      I wouldn't necessarily call this a "flaw" per se, but since it's a digital piano, and not a workstation, it has a basic sound catalog. No fancy sounds here.

      Well, surely he is kinda a sales guy.
      But actually pretty good one tho.
      I have to know it. Im in the sales business.
      Also. As long as he shows what this thing can do, I don‘t really see a problem.
      Usually Yamaha has decent quality.
