Love your hair! I love how you read a little bit each day from certain books as a morning ritual with your coffee. :) I totally know what you mean about certain historical nonfiction not working as well via audio. I tried listening to Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff as audio just to get through it faster, but I couldn't retain any of it. Now I'm doing immersion reading with listening to it at the same time as I'm reading it and it's so much better that way! I can tab and underline, but also hear her use the correct pronunciations of certain names and places. Narrative non-fiction seems to work really well for me as audio, but other types I just need to stick with the physical even though it will take me so much longer to finish it! :)
Thanks so much! I really look forward to reading little bits every morning, it’s like a little treat. Nothing strenuous, just something light and easy to get me going. I have that Cleopatra biography and I’m really looking forward to it but never thought of listening alongside reading so I might try that!
Shannon, I think I mentioned in one of your previous videos that I felt 1491 would be a tough listen. For me, if there is not a fast plot, like an adventure story or something, audio books = instant nappy time.
I’m impressed with your morning reading routine. ❤
Thanks!
I see your point about some books not working by listening. I’ve experienced that. Your hair looks beautiful 😊
Thanks so much!

You did! And I literally almost took a nap in my car! I really want to finish it so it’s back to the physical book I go…eventually. 🤣
