My friend got me the same dell computer from an auction around where they live for $20 I think. It came with 16gb of ram and no hard drive. But I had a ssd that I was using on my dell latitude e5400 that I put in the computer
I scooped up one of these on Amazon for $120 with wireless/bluetooth modules, mouse and keyboard. I needed a small media PC, and the price point was good.
Thanks for the review man you really got a nice deal with that optiplex, here where i live you can find it in store around $115 with 120 GB and 8 GB of RAM and i5-4th gen, the only thing that worried me is the power supply if for some reason stop working you will get a hard time buying one with a good price but still it's a nice piece of hardware and seeing now how people get creative adapting low profile gpu you can actually play recent games in 1080p.
I got a refurbished unit a couple of years ago and other than DELL's typical issues it's been surprisingly fun. I upgraded the SSD and added an HDD, and it already had 16 GB. It was $200 from amazon canada. Although it's more expensive today, I think it's a great deal for a small pc you can use for many tasks. And it's very quiet, like so many DELL machines.
Just found one of these for $100 bucks with a 1 TB hard-drive. I didn’t know that having a hard-drive was a bad thing, but I’m hoping it will be fine. It has an i7 processor, so it’s a little faster. I still think it’s a good price. I’ll eventually upgrade the RAM and throw a low profile GPU in. Thanks for the video and I’ll pray for you and your family.
Hard drives aren’t like going to destroy your pc or something its just slower and makes load times slower and can slow down performance but you shouldn’t have to worry.
Nice deal. I got the same system with a 256gb SSD and windows 10 included for $70 total. Huge upgrade over my ancient Inspiron 530. Now I have to save up money for an LP GPU and a 1080p monitor.
Awesome! I also had an Inspiron 530 many years ago that my parents bought brand new in 2009. It was like $1200 back in the day for a core 2 duo, 6gb ram, 500gb hard drive, 20 inch monitor & mouse keyboard and mouse pad. I ended up getting it many years later when they bought an hp desktop. And eventually it completely broke.
Bought one this month, put an RX 6400 low profile GPU in it. Just finished the new Silent Hill 2 remake on low settings with 60 fps, which is pretty dang incredible.
Good video. If I may make a suggestion, those benchmark tests you ran I found myself wondering what those scores mean and how those ratings stand, and what exactly it was testing. You didn't groan so I could tell the scores were fine, and I know I could look it up on my own, but a brief description would have been handy. You provided a lot of great info and suggestions! Thank you and keep up the great work!
I just ordered one of these off eBay, but with an i7-4770, for 59 dollars including shipping. Very curious to see what I can turn that little rascal into. I'm going to pop an LP GPU in there, add a better case fan and pull out that HDD bay/bracket which should help increase airflow. Might also drill holes in the side panel right above the CPU fan for more airflow. Will be very cheap modifications, but hopefully I can turn it into a budget gaming PC for older games in 720p/1080p.
That's awesome! It will be an excellent machine! That's an excellent deal you have for sure! Really a no-brainer for that price. I remember when those CPUs retailed for over $300 back in the day! Now you can get a whole system with that CPU for so little it's insane! Thanks for watching! :-)
I think it should be fine. You can always upgrade the CPU to an i7 4770 or 4790 in the future which would be better. You can also install more ram and a low profile graphics card too.
If you add a ssd drive on that computer it makes a world of difference. But I haven't played any games on it yet. It will play 4k video without any problems
I just grabbed one off eBay for $40.04 shipped. Has i5 4570, 4gb ram, 250gb hdd no OS. I plan on making a low end gaming rig. Have an amd r5 430 2gb, some ram and an ssd I’m gonna throw in it.
Hello, would this be good to be used for basic school functions like powerpoint, word, loads of research, possibly roblox, sims 4, and more school? Im very uneducated on computers and this was one of amazons best sellers. Thanks for the video :)
It would be an excellent computer for schoolwork. If you buy one make sure it comes with an SSD. A hard drive would make this computer unnecessarily slow. An SSD will be much faster and is really night and day from a hard drive.
Wow what a find! It’s unfortunate that it ended up in the trash like so many computers. I bet most of these computers that end up in the trash are still in perfectly good working condition. And just need a bit of tender loving care. Adding an ssd will make a night and day difference in whole system responsiveness that’s for sure! Bless you! 😊Thanks!
I would say that is overpriced if you get the same computer I have without a Graphics card and better CPU + more RAM. I'm not sure what currency you are talking about but here in the USA you can get much better deals on this machine if you look around a bit on sites like Ebay. But if you buy the computer and it has an i7 and like 16+ gigabytes of ram plus a decent graphics card than I would say its worth buying.

Cinebench single thread scores should be about 50% higher considering the processor that was used.
I just bought a refurbished one off of amazon, for to run little games like Minecraft, and for to do some work, can’t wait for it too come
Does it work good?
I want a update

Is this pc good enough to use for 3D printing?
I think it would be ok. And you can always upgrade the CPU and add a dedicated graphics card in the future. And also upgrade the RAM.

I think it would hold up ok.

Can you recommend a graphics card for this PC?
I would get a low profile RX 6400. It is a pretty fast card and doesn't require external power.
Low profile 2070.
