It's funny being a Des Moines resident hearing that it's a "small farm town" of 700,000.
Being from a small farm town of 300 in Eastern Iowa we see Des Moines as the big city.
Yeah, I get that…it’s like calling San Francisco (when it wasn’t the 7th layer of Dante’s Inferno it was ~750k residents) a small fishing village. What I didn’t get was his pronunciation…I get that the last ‘s’ in both Des and Moines are silent but homedude was pronouncing it DeMoy! 😳😬 Jeebus; he doesn’t even drink! 👀🤦🏽

I've driven this car as well, and can't remember another car that was as fun as this one. It's unreal. When he says the front wheels just start coming off the ground, he's not kidding. Eric is one of the best fabricators/welders in the country and an all around awesome guy with awesome ideas.

I was so frustrated when they built that, it was on the FasterProms channel. I just thought it was too much power for the chassis too soon, they never really ran it NA to work out the handling. It was crashed heavily a couple of times and then shelved, Fasterproms stopped uploading soon after, I know that wasn't the main cause but it didn't help. K swapping and tuning it would have been enough, the original car was 70 hp, adding a zero to that is insane.
And being from there please say the name of the city correctly.
@@robmanueb. the brabusversion had around 100 from factory. We had one tuned to over 150hp with another turbo etc. . Final Power on Ethanol was never measured. Good suspension and wider tires made it onto the car as well. That thing was a blast to drive, some good cars had to leave the fast lane as we where coming. Sadly after 80k on its final setup (100k km in total) it got hit by a truck very bad. Driver and Codriver lucky got away with some minor bruises.

I think the FasterProms conversion would have been cool with 300-400 hp (still insane) but pushing 650+ was just too much of a handful, especially as the goal was drag racing. Easy for me to spend someone else's money though and they have to make their vids profitable.
The shift pattern forward vs back nothing to do with the transmission being flipped. I understand he’s not super technical but please be informed. A simple flip of the shift linkage would make up shift and downshift change.
The boosted Honda K swapped smart car from Faster Proms and PFI Tuning is the sickest smart car in the states. Built and tuned by 2 of the best tuners out there.
It is a shame that they immediately went to a lot of power instead of getting the suspension dialed in first. That car has so much potential!!!

The best part about this 600hp Smart Fortwo is it looks practically bone-stock, aside from eagle-eyed observations to the exterior.
Notably the tow-hook, the slightly widened fenders, the wheels, and the easiest spot - the turndown exhaust at the back, coming through the rear bumper.

I worked across the street from the shop that built the smart car for a bit. I always hoped to hear an engine pop on the dyno.

I'm surprised that Chevette rear diff didn't shrapnel itself under the load of anything with more beef than the Iron Duke the Chevette came with...

lol no doubt being from Iowa Des Moines is NOT a small farming town. It’s the state capital. Between there, Ankeny as well as Urbandale it’s probably 800,000 people. by the way, they have the biggest skate park in the United States. Been about 10 years since I’ve lived there and ain’t nothing changed. We were all rippin shit boxes in high school and and now everyone’s driving fast shit boxes haha.
